Thermal-electromagnetic Coupled Analysis for Gear Heat Treatment using Simultaneous Duel Frequency

In this paper, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for gear heat treatment using simultaneous dual frequency (SDF) induction heating is conducted. To do this, thermal-electromagnetic coupled FE model is built. A two dimensional FE model of gear and heater is introduced to reduce computation time. For more time-efficient analysis, harmonic analysis for electromagnetic model is adopted and transient analysis model, for heat transfer model. Through the coupled analysis, it can be found that the proposed FE model can solve for SDF induction heating of gear and heat treatment parameters can also be determined.

In this paper, a hybrid roll for a roll-to-roll hot embossing system to fabricate micro patterns is studied. In previous studies, heating rolls are widely used to heat the polymer substrate for embossing process, so the rolls only give heat to the substrate. The hybrid roll studied in this paper can be used as not only a heating roll but also a cooling roll. It is expected that more flexible process can be designed if the hybrid roll is used in the roll to roll hot embossing process. Some analysis to design the roll is presented in this paper.

In this paper, electromagnetic analysis has been conducted to analyze and design the induction heating roll for roll-to-roll embossing process. The roll has some coolant pipe and jacket, the influence of the structural variance on the mangeitc filed is considered through finite element analysis.

In domestic railway stations, transporting cargo using overhead cranes is difficult because of the catenary lines. Horizontal moving piggy-back transfer technology is a method of transporting trailers or cargo together with trucks on freight trains while avoiding the catenary lines. This thesis is a study on the design technology of piggy-back loading and unloading transfer facilities that satisfies all the conditions necessary for the use of the existing railroad network in Korea. By developing a shuttle system, including an air cushion transporter and a docking unit, the piggyback transport system was designed. This technology is expected to improve railroad logistics technology and expand the logistics market.

Recent trends in transport system for carrying heavy freight are that demands of a high efficiency, economic efficiency, convenience and safety are increased. Conventional transport systems were poor in transport efficiency and economic efficiency. And Safety problems can be caused to products and workers. In order to overcome these problems, an air cushion transport device with a high-pressure air is required. The air cushion transporter is a device for reducing the frictional force of floor surface and lifting the heavy freight by spraying the high-pressure air to the floor. Technology to float and transfer freight using high-pressure air is very convenient and initial cost can be reduced. In this paper, the study on the levitation performance and transport efficiency of air cushion transport system is conducted and verified that air cushion transporter has a significantly higher transport efficiency than conventional heavy handling systems.
