        영화 ‘코치, 카터’의 교육적 함의

        본 연구는 영화 ‘코치, 카터’를 지도자의 지도관을 중심으로 분석해 봄으로써 상급학교 진학과 성적 지상주의에 물들어 있는 우리나라 학교 운동경기부의 모습을 재조명해보고 바람직한 지도자의 모습을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이 영화에서 그려지는 카터 코치의 지도관은 크게 세 가지로 나눌 수 있었다. 먼저 운동선수이기 이전에 학생으로서 선수들을 지도하고 교육하는 것이었다. 카터 코치는 학생들이 농구를 통해 자기 향상을 위한 하나의 토대를 마련하고자 노력했다. 단지 승리를 위해 훈련만을 강요하거나 농구란 운동에 모든 것을 투자하는 것을 경계하면서 선수들이 자신의 삶을 가꾸고 발전시키는데 농구를 ‘활용’하도록 끊임없이 학생들을 독려했다. 이러한 과정에서 학교와 학부모, 심지어 학생들에게도 반발을 사게 되었지만 그의 소신은 모든 것을 변화시켰다. 다음으로 카터는 엄격한 규율과 예절을 지도하면서 학생들이 스스로 책임감을 가지도록 하였다. 많은 문제들을 지니고 있는 학생들에게 규칙과 계약을 엄격히 적용함으로써 결과적으로 학생들이 책임 있는 행동을 하고, 동료들과 원만한 관계를 유지하며, 학교라는 작은 사회를 소중히 여기고 사랑하도록 하였다. 또한 학생들이 진실로 책임감 있는 한 개체로 성장하기 위해서는 그들이 책임질 줄 아는 방법을 배우도록 해야 한다는 지도관을 지니고 있었다. 마지막으로 카터는 학생들이 스스로 목표의식을 가지고 삶을 책임지고 선택하도록 하였다. 카터 코치는 학생들에게 끊임없이 꿈을 가지라고 격려하였다. 물론 그 꿈이란 것은 영화에서 분명히 드러나지 않지만 대학진학이라는 현실적인 목표를 통해 학생들이 자신의 삶을 가꾸어나가는 방법을 찾도록 격려하고 있었다. 우리나라에서는 잊을 만하면 지도자들의 선수구타, 성추행, 금품수수와 같은 문제들이 언론을 통해 보도된다. 물론 우리나라에도 일선 학교 현장에서 묵묵히 제자들의 성장과 발전을 위해 노력하는 ‘코치, 카터’와 같은 지도자들이 무수히 많을 것이다. 하지만 이 영화가 스포츠 지도자들뿐만 아니라 체육교사들에게 던지는 의미는 체육이 가지는 무한한 교육적 가치가 아닌가 한다. 단지 기능만을 전수하는 것이 아니라 학생들의 전인적 성장을 위해 체육이 기여할 수 있는 많은 가능성이 존재하며 이를 가능하게 하는 것은 바로 지도자, 교사들의 몫이 아닌가 한다. The purpose of this study was to seek for a coaches's desirable figure through analysing the "Coach, Carter" from a educational point of view. To collect the data of "Coach, Carter", I bought the DVD having the Korean-explanatory title and watched it three times by playing on computer movie player. The movie analyses can be divided with the words, the character and the scene analysis, but the words analysis was used in this study. "Coach, Carter" described the process that the coach charged Richmond High School Basketball Team get the student-athlete's life changed. Carter had the firm faith that student-athletes are student before athlete. And he trained student-athletes with a strict rules and manners, but hold them with love. He always implanted them a sense of aim and proposed a vision of life. like this, he educated student-athletes to have the responsibility for their lives and to decide something by themselves.

        뮤지컬전공학생의 무용수업 참여가 신체상 및 자아존중감에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of taking dance class to body image and self-esteem of musical majoring students. Subjects of this study were 79 male students and 96 female students randomly from three university in Kyungsang province. On the basis of the results analysed, the conclusion were drawn as followings: 1. There are significant differences in body image according to the sex of musical majoring student(p<.01). Significant different factors between body image was just appearance like hair color, total body physique and shoulder shape. But, we could not find any difference within sex and body image. 2. There are no significant differences in body image according to the grade of musical majoring student. and, we couldn't find any useful difference within grade and self-esteem. 3. There are significant interaction effect of taking dance class to body image and self-esteem of musical majoring students in university students. Especially, dance class taking effect the students' face and physique image. Moreover, dance class taking make their self-esteem satisfaction more positive.

        Syllabification ambiguity and lexical nuclei - An optimality-theoretic analysis of on-glides in Korean

          It has been widely regarded that the SPE feature [±syllabic] is unnecessary in phonological theory in the sense that syllable structures are predictable by a grammar: syllabification does not need to be specified in the lexicon. The result is to discard the special segments “glides”, since they are only distinguished from vowels by [±syllabic]. Our study is based on this view: “glides” are in fact vowels in underlying representation, and they are parsed in non-nucleus (onset in our discussion) on the surface. The problem, however, is that Korean has numerous examples causing syllabification ambiguity. For instance, ki.?p ‘an enterprise’ and kj?p ‘a layer’ seem to show contrast between vowel /i/ and “glide” /j/: minimal pair. For this reason, most literature about Korean still accepts this segmental contrast between vowels and “glides”, reintroducing the feature [±syllabic]. This study provides an explicit account for the process by employing the concept of lexical nuclei (following the idea of Roca 1997), without giving up many advantages that syllabification by a grammar gives. The basic idea is simple: our approach allows minimal syllable structure only to the relevant lexical items. Consequently, this strategy hinges on economy, rather than the full-specification of syllable structures in the lexicon. The analysis is couched within the framework of Optimality Theory (Prince and Smolensky 1993, McCarthy and Prince 1995).

        재미 조기유학생의 스포츠활동 적응과정

        The purpose of this study was to investigate a study of the Adjustment experiences of early studying abroad in PE class and sports activity of middle and high school students. This study adoped the grounded theory developed by Strauss and Corbin(2002). and this study employed in-depth interview to gather the data. 8 interview participants for this study were recruited in Virginia used a purposive sampling method. 156 concepts, 26 subcategories, and 15 categories were derived. The main findings of this study were as follows: The main phenomenon in adjusting to the early studying abroad students was "considerable difference on new environment". The researcher have found out the core category that is called 'making successful overseas studying'. In this study, researcher have developed the grounded theory paradigm about the process of Adjustment experiences of early studying abroad in PE class and sports activity.

        초등학교 여학생의 체육수업 적응 경험

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the adaptation processes of the low-skilled female elementary school student. To achieve this purpose, the eight female elementary students of the D elementary school were selected as participants. The data were collected by in-depth interviews. From the results of female students' interviews via the grounded theory-paradigm presented by Straus & Corbin(2001), 80 concepts and 18 subordinate categories, 12 categories were derived. First, the heart matter was 'difficulty' in physical education lessons. Second, the heart matters, 'difficulty', were various according to individual characters, secondary sex condition, laborious life in physical education lessons, troubles in social relationships, discontent in the surroundings of physical education lessons. Third, to solve the heart matter, the participants were using passive strategies such as 'abandonment', 'feign illness and lie' and positive strategies such as 'appeal to others', 'efforts'. Fourth, the helpful conditions in these strategies were 'participants' will', 'aids of others'.

        대결 및 타협의 정신과 비대칭적 사랑 - 박경리의 초기 장편 『애가』와 『표류도』, 『성녀와 마녀』를 중심으로 -

        In this article, the early novels by Park Kyung-Li were reviewed. The early novels focused on the love, and the characters are put under the situation to choose either love or life. This plot forces the characters to choose either the life losing love or the love disconnecting from the world. The characters who chose love lose the previous uncompromising will confronting the world while the characters who chose the life declare adaptation to the hostile world and try to compromise. At the end of journey that they chose, the pessimistic view is formed that our life cannot but be bound to the transcendental power and principle beyond the human being, and therefore, we cannot life as we want. Nevertheless, Park Kyung-Li advocated the ought-to-be of life, which prepares the basis to compromise with the mundane world where the logic of life cannot but be in discord with the provision of nature and to live in the materialistic world. The love narratives by Park Kyung-Li showed mostly asymmetric path and it is the asymmetric pattern that the incompatibility between the love and the life is materialized formally. In the aspect that the asymmetric pattern of love, which is developed complexly, is settled down with two method of death and natural exhaustion of emotion, the characters who faced with the fateful love cannot ut respond passively. However, Park Kyung-Li demands the order and harmony to the love, which is the product of spirit of compromise that tries to cope with the fateful love irresistible with the will of human. For the characters of Park Kyung-Li, to love someone is to review the condition of life and the nature of life. If the early short stories emphasized the spirit of confrontation that confronted the unfair mundane world, the early novels distingshed with the spirit of compromise with the mundane world and of the reconciliation. which cannot be disparaged as adaptation since it is living together with the mundane world embracing it. The Land (Toji) is the result that such matured attitude shown in the early novels was deepened.

      • 청소년의 복싱 참여가 인성에 미치는 영향

        이 연구는 복싱과 같은 투기종목을 통해 인성형성에 어떠한 효과가 있는지에 대한 분석을 통해 바람직한 인성교육의 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 설정한 연구문제는 복싱과 같은 투기종목은 수련생의 인성에 영향을 미치는가?이다. 연구자는 본 연구를 수행하기 위해 문화기술적 연구방법을 선택하였다. 연구자는 현재 복싱체육관에 1년 이상 다니고 있는 중고등학생으로 한정하여 6명을 선정하였다. 이들을 대상으로 자료를 수집하기 위해 주로 심층면담과 참여관찰을 실시하였다. 또한 문서자료로 인성관련 논문자료, 복싱관련 다양한 문헌자료 등을 활용하였다. 본 연구에서 나타난 결과는 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 청소년 복싱수련생들은 장기간의 복싱수련 과정을 거쳐 인성에 긍정적 혹은 부정적 영향을 받고 있다. 둘째, 수련생들은 인성이라는 것은 결국 교육적 활동의 영향으로 형성될 수 있다. 복싱이라는 종목이 공격성을 지향하는 스포츠임에는 분명하지만 복싱체육관에 다니는 수련생들에게 경쟁스포츠의 그것과 동일한 목적으로 지도하는 것은 아니다. 따라서 지도자가 인성을 기르기 위해서 어떤 프로그램과 철학을 적용하는지 그 내용에 따라 수련생의 인성형성에 영향을 미치게 되는 것이다. The study aims at suggesting a desirable method of personality education through analysis of the effects of personality education through one-to-one physical matches such as boxing. The research question was whether a physical match ive field such as boxing affect on the personality of trainees. The cultural and technological methods was used to conduct this research. The participants of the study were six middle and high school students who currently attend boxing gym for more than a year. In-depth interviews and participation inspections were conducted to collect data from the participants. In addition, various literature related to personality and boxing were collected for further analysis. The results from this study are as below; first, young boxers claimed that they experienced a positive or negative impact on their personality after a lengthy boxing training process. This results is similar to the previous results regarding a personality-related study conducted in the general field of sports, where participation in sports or physical activities naturally results in a personality acquisition. Sporting is not just a training programme. It is to make the best use of and play with the other person while observing the rules. In this process, the victory is not the only thing that matters, but the process and procedure to the victory matters. In doing so, both positive and negative effects are created in character. Second, trainees argued that personality could eventually be formed by the influence of educational activities. While boxing is clearly an aggressive sport, it does not train the trainees for the same purpose as competing sports at a boxing gym. Therefore, what programs and teaching philosophies a coach applies to in order to build the character will eventually affect the personality of a trainee.

      • 스포츠영화에 대한 일고찰

        This study analyzes definition of sports movie, contents analysis of sports movies those released 2000-2011 and social function of sports movie. For purpose of this study, papers, newspapers, webpages were applied to define sports movies, to analyse sports movies’ contents within 2000-2011 released sports movies in Korea those produced in Korea and overseas, and to understand social function of sports movies. Following results were obtained through the those analysis. First, There are two kinds of sports movie’s definition. one is the definition of consultation. the other is the definition of broad sense. the definition of consultation is that is a story about sport itself or a player endure and overcome lots of difficult situation. the definition of broad sense is that viewing the society through sport, accept diverse value, and reveal some important problems of real world. Second, the contents of sports movie are movies are produced over 100 in Korea and 800 in US each year. the theme of sports movie are value of sport, socialization and social integration, reflections social aspects, introductions of events and documentary and Third, the social function of sport movie are informing, socialization, entertainment, social integration, social adjustment.

        허망한 복수와 죽음의 의미

        이 논문은 『토지』의 서사를 작동시키는 원리 가운데 하나인 복수의 문제를 분석한다. 『토지』에는 복수가 차고 넘친다. 개개 인물들이 품고 있는 복수의 밀도 또한 도저해서 섣부른 이입을 불허할 정도다. 그러나 『토지』의 특징은 미만해 있는 복수 및 복수 의지의 드높은 강도만큼이나 그 결과가 허망하다는 데서도 찾을 수 있다. 복수와 관련된 기왕의 논의는 주로 전자에 치중했고, 후자의 국면은 주목하지 못했다. 이는 『토지』 이해의 유력한 틀이었던 ‘한-해한’의 구도에 대한 의존에서 기인하는 듯하다. 한 및 그삭임의 틀로 복수의 양상을 살피면 『토지』에 드러난 허망한 복수의 사태는 이해되지 않는다. 예컨대 복수의 일념에 자신의 일생을 걸었던 ‘최서희’가 ‘조준구’에 행하는 복수의 대미가 그러하다. 본고는 『토지』에 만연한 복수의 양상을 살피고, 그 특징과 의미를 규명하고자 한다. 특히 『토지』에 드러난 복수의 제반 특징을 아우르고 있는 최서희를 주목한다. 허망한 복수의 핵심 원인은 복수의 주체가 개별자에 있지 않다는, 진정한 복수의 주체는 ‘자연’(죽음)에 있다는 점을 논증하고자 한다. 이를 위해 『토지』 속 죽음의 장경(場景)을 검토한다. In Toji, revenge and enmity are filled and overflowed. However, there are not results that properly correspond to the painful passion. Why? The reason is that revenge is replaced and executed by nature. Presenting death scenes to readers is revenge of nature. The last judgment is carried out by nature and cosmic dispensation. The subject of revenge on wrong lives of ‘Limine’ and ‘Cho, Jun Gu’ is nature (death) instead of individuals. Thus, cosmic dispensation appears as morality belatedly in front of death. Regarding the miserable last of the bad persons including Cho, Jun Gu lied in their wrong lives and greeds. Just like latter years of bad persons implied, ‘getting death’ was their lives. In other words, real revenges toward ‘Cho, Jun Gu’ and ‘Limine’ were carried out by their lives and behaviors having been done ordinally. Toji leans to melodramatic imagination in that actual subject of revenge was nature, namely it treated corrupt social conditions and negativity of the world by reveling a moral lessen. One of moral command in Toji will be ‘Cope with life.’ Toji indicates that judgment is certainly achieved, and the subject of its execution is nature or providence, so revenge is same as existing life itself. The reason that revenge cannot but be vain in Toji is derived from belief on ‘The logic of the world’ ". It could be interpreted to show appearance of nature which intervenes with moral force belatedly while making cosmic dispensation felt. Faith on such moral occult comforts life definitely, but it could turn heads from objective actualities. It is because eyes of longing for transcendence recognize the worldly mud as long-suffering days or temporary shelter rather than target of inquiry.
