예비 초등교사의 영어 교수 불안감과 교사 변인 간의 관계 분석

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between English teaching anxiety of 101 pre-service elementary school teachers and teacher variables. The findings were as follows: First, senior pre-service teachers and other prospective teachers have the highest level of anxiety about coping with unexpected teaching situations as well as about their teaching skills. They use coping strategies to overcome these anxieties. Second, those who are not confident in their English proficiency tend to feel insecure about their English teaching skills and naturally underestimate their abilities. This group of teacher variable also had high anxiety in teaching. Third, pre-service teachers who self-evaluated as having excellent overall teaching skills had low teaching anxiety because they had excellent English proficiency and high confidence in their English teaching skills. They used stress management strategies that are applicable for teaching in general. Fourth, a significant variable that can predict English teaching ability is English teaching confidence, and important predictors that affect this variable are English teaching anxiety and overall confidence in teaching.
