This paper presents concepts, policies, industry trends, and related issues in urban air mobility (UAM). UAM will contribute to transportation by mitigating traffic congestion and environmental problems in the future. Accordingly, governments of major countries are promoting UAM policies and demonstration projects as well as preparing laws and certification standards. In UAM, overseas startups lead airframe developments, and major companies from the aircraft, automotive, and information technology industries are also participating. In addition, startups and major companies are building the corresponding infrastructure. For the development of UAM, issues related to technology, regulation systems, and infrastructure still need to be resolved.

The smart city agenda aims to solve various problems arising in cities and promote the welfare and happiness of citizens by utilizing the new technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Smart city policies have been promoted at the national level, but until now, policy implementations have not been effective enough to fundamentally affect citizens. To realize a more realistic and practical smart city, it is necessary to examine the problems occurring in the city in depth and set the direction and tasks of the smart city accordingly. Therefore, this study specifies the issues and problems faced in 12 sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, medical care, and safety. Next, by referring to the existing literature, a future smart city integration model is proposed that can respond to these problems. That is, future smart cities should create detailed services with enhanced efficiency, sustainability, strong risk management, safety, and satisfaction as the main goals. This study is meaningful in that it suggests a vision and tasks of smart cities that can solve problems in various sectors in a form that can be felt by the citizens.

Because of economic polarization and difficulties, extreme personalization, and the complexity of social relationships, modern people are experiencing various mental disorders or pathologies. Accordingly, there is an urgent need to prepare more active countermeasures and support those with mental health difficulties to improve mental health and prevent abnormal pathologies. Artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to improve the mental health of individuals through emotional enhancement beyond affective computing. We investigated how to use AI to prevent and diagnose mental diseases or disorders, support treatment, and manage followup. In particular, promising services that can be used in daily life or medical clinics were discovered and active directions for realizing these services are suggested.
