백굴채약침액(白屈菜藥針液)이 LPS로 유도(誘導)된 RAW 264.7 대식세포(大食細胞)에서의 항염증효과(抗炎症效果)

Objectives: Recently, Herbal-acupuncture therapeutics has been used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Especially, we have been interested in chemical mediators concerned with inflammation such as prostaglandin, cytokine, nitrous oxide. The purpose of this study is investigated that the effect of Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages, performed several expeimental items: those are prostaglandin E2, nitric oxide and cyclooxygenase-2. Methods: The cytotoxicity of Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution in RAW 264.7 macrophages were measured by MTT-based cytotoxicity assay. In order to observe cyclooxygenase-2 mRNA expression in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages, RT-PCR was used. Prostaglandin E2 formation and nitric oxide production was measured by competitive enzyme immunoassay and Griess assay. Results: 1. The MTT assay demonstrated that cytotoxic effect of Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution in RAW 264.7 macrophages were not appeared before concentration of 1㎎/㎖. 2. Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution inhibited cyclooxygenase-2 mRNA expression in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. 3. Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution inhibited nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. 4. Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution inhibited prostaglandin E2 formation in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Conclusions: On the basis of these results, It was shown that Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution is significantly able to inhibit the production of PGE2 and NO, as well as COX-2 mRNA expression. Our results may provide new mechanism by which Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution accounts for its beneficial effect on accelerating wound healing and anti-inflammation.

플라톤 독해의 기본전제에 관한 재검토

플라톤에 관한 전통적인 해석에 담겨 있는 몇 가지 문제점을 지적하는 것이 본고의 목적이다. 전통적인 해석에서는 플라톤의 정치사상을 다음과 같이 압축한다. (1)개인이 가지는 개별적 의견을 초월하여 보편적으로 타당한 지식이 존재한다. (2) 그러한 지식만이 우리로 하여금 올바른 정치적 판단에 이르게 한다. 이에 대하여, 본고는 두 단계의 주장을 펼친다. 우선, 그런 식으로 파악되는 “올바른 정치적 판단”이 얼마나 옳은지는 차치하더라도, 그것이 그다지 “정치적”인 것으로 보이지 않는 점을 지적한다. 그런 연후에, 플라톤이 그토록 무리한 주장을 일방적으로 펼쳤다고 볼 수 없는 증거로서, 플라톤의 대화 중에서 몇 구절을 들어 해석한다. 이를 통하여, 플라톤 철학의 본질이 이치(logos)의 본질적인 내용을 우리에게 주입하는 데에 있기보다는 우리가 원하는 이치를 우리가 원하는 만큼 스스로 찾아가라는 데에 있다는 함축을 본고에서는 주장한다. This paper purports to bring into relief some difficulties inherent in the traditional way of reading Plato. Traditional reading delineates Plato's suggestions that: (1) there is a special kind of knowledge which is universally valid and transcendent of particular opinions and (2) only such knowledge will lead us to the correct political judgment. Against this view, this paper sets forth a two-dimensional argument. First, setting aside the question of how correct the "correct political judgment" so understood might be, it does not seem quite "political" at all. Then, I will bring into light some pieces of evidence from the text to demonstrate that Plato did not make such an untenable set of suggestions. By implication, I will try to establish that the gist of Platonic political philosophy is not so much intended to insinuate into us whatever substance of the logos as it is to recommend us to find the kind of logos that we want as much as we want.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of using the bamboo activated carbon as eco-building interior materials. A series of tests was conducted such as strength test, water absorbency test, and adsorption test of pollution materials. The properties was compared with the those of pine charcoal. The specimens were made with two admixtures various replacement ratio (0%, 5%, 10%). From the test results, bamboo activated carbon modified cement mortars have quite performance in strength and adsorption. The porosity of two admixture was also evaluated by SEM and nitrogen adsorption method.

철근콘크리트 구조물 염해 내구설계에 있어서 설계확률변수의 민감도 평가

해안철근콘크리트 구조물은 해수 또는 비래염분에 의하여 철근이 부식하게 되고 결과적으로 콘크리트에 균열로 발전하여 성능을 다하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 염해에 대한 해안 철근콘크리트 구조물의 내구성능 평가를 위하여 수치해석에 의한 결정론적 방법이 아니라 확률론에 입각한 성능평가를 위하여 확률론적 시뮬레이션 수법을 구축하였다. 시뮬레이션 수법으로는 몬테카를로법이 적용되었으며, 파괴확률에 대한 설계확률변수(표면염화물 농도, 초기 함유 염소이온농도, 철근의 피복두께, 염소이온 확산계수) 및 각각의 변동계수의 영향을 평가하였다. Fick의 확산방정식을 이용한 해석결과, 해안에서의 거리의 차 및 확산계수의 차에 의한 영향은 컸으며 상대적으로 변동계수의 영향은 그다지 높지 않다는 것을 알 수 있었다. Simulation method based on probability was developed to evaluate the durability of reinforced concrete structures about chloride attack. The effects of the probability parameters(surface chloride ion concentration, initial combined chloride ion concentration, the depth of cover thickness of concrete, and the chloride ion diffusion coefficient), probability distribution function and it's variation were calculated using the Monte Carlo method and Fick's 2nd law. From the durability design method proposed in this study, the following results were obtained. 1) The effects of the distance from the coast and the chloride ion diffusion coefficient to the corrosion probability were quite high. 2) The effect of the variation of each parameters was relatively low.

권위의 개념에 대한 외면적 접근과 내면적 접근

권위는 영향력의 한 형태이지만 영향력 중에서는 수용자 편의 주체적인 역할이 반드시 필요하다는 점에 특징이 있다. 권위를 단순히 영향력의 한 형태로 여기는 데서 그치면 이 특징을 전혀 건드리지 못한다. 권위의 종류를 분류하는 방식으로도 역시 권위 자체가 무엇인지에는 침투하지 못한다. 이와 같은 외면적인 접근에 대비해서 본고에서는 내면적인 접근이 필수적이라고 주장한다. 내면적 접근은 어떤 개인이 어떤 사람이나 정책 또는 제도나 관습을 권위적이라고 받아들이는 데에는 그것이 어떤 정도로든 옳다는 감각이 작용한다는 차원을 강조한다. 물론 이 차원에 주목하게 되면, 무엇에서 어떤 권위를 얼마나 받아들이느냐는 문제가 각 개인이 어떤 성향을 가지고 무엇을 추구하느냐의 문제와 내면적으로 얽혀있다는 측면 역시 중시하지 않을 수가 없게 된다. 그러므로 권위가 무엇인지를 탐구하는 작업이 진행하다보면 결국 일정한 활동분야에 실존적으로 참여한 상태의 판단을 피할 수 없는 지점을 만나지 않을 수 없다. 정치적 권위를 탐구하는 사람이라면 해당 사회의 정치적 현안에 대한 나름의 평가를 피할 수 없는 지점을 만나게 되는데, 그 지점이야말로 철학과 정치가 서로 소통해야 하는 지점이다. Authority is a form of influence whose main characteristic consists in the fact that some role as an actor is conceptually presupposed on the part of the recipient if what is being received is to be properly called authority. Any account which stops at regarding authority as a form of influence can never touch on this characteristic while attempts to classify different kinds of authority neither are able to penetrate into the gist of what authority is. In contrast to these approaches from the external outlook, this paper suggests an approach that may help to bring into view what can only be seen of authority from the internal perspective. The internal approach pays special attention to the dimension that a sense of right plays an important part in one’s taking somebody or a certain set of policies, institutions, or customs as authoritative. Sensitivity to this dimension is likely to lead our attention to another that understanding the concept of authority is internally connected with such particular considerations as what authority matters to who engaged in what sort of pursuits with what propensities and values, etc. Therefore, an inquirer into what authority is has to meet in the course of the inquiry a point at which he has to participate in evaluating things in the first-person terms. If the inquiry is about political authority, that point is exactly where philosophy and politics have to communicate with each other.
