A marine ranch is a sea area that artificially creates habitats where artificial structures or natural stones can be installed to inhabit and grow. The purpose of this study is to investigate the vertical and horizontal distribution of fish schools by distance around artificial reefs in central Taean using acoustic survey. The survey was conducted on April 27(1st), July 28(2nd), September 30(3rd), and November 17(4th). According to the survey, more fish schools appear in April and July than in September and November, and more fish schools appear at night than during the day. When examining the density of fish schools by distance of 2km, 3km, and 4km from artificial reefs, the frequency of appearance decreased as the distance from artificial reefs increased. As a result, changes in the distribution of fishing schools were found depending on the day and night and the presence or absence of artificial reefs. Data should be collected and stored using sound research equipment WBT, GPS, Transducer, and Notebook, and it is judged that follow-up management and continuous observation of fisheries resource creation projects are necessary.

Laver aquaculture, which occupies a large proportion in the aquaculture industry in Korea, is still highly dependent on human labor. Therefore, it is necessary to study the development of an automatic system to improve the working environment and increase the efficiency of aquaculture production systems. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the economic feasibility of an improved system in a study for the loading-unloading and automatic weighing systems in laver aquaculture industry. Economic analysis of the developed unloading and automatic weighing system were implemented under various conditions to calculate more accurate benefits and costs. As a result of this study, the economic feasibility was found to be very high in the three models: net present value (NPV), benefit-cost ratio (B/C), internal rate of return (IRR). Moreover, the results of sensitivity analysis showed that the economical efficiency of the automatic loading, unloading, and weighing system in laver aquaculture was very high.
울주 바다목장 해역의 음향 자원조사법을 통한 어군의 시·공간적 분포

The purpose of this study was to monitor the spatiotemporal distribution of fish using quantitative echosounding around coastal areas where artificial reefs would be installed for create marine ranching efficiently. The survey was conducted a total of two times at Ulju on 13 June and July 2017 (1st survey), and 7 November 2017 (2nd survey). According to the survey results, the density of fish in June and November was higher at night higher than during the day. The valley of the sea detected much fish. Thus, the distribution of the fish schools changed depending on time of day or night, month, and submarine topography. Therefore, it is thought that the systematic survey should be conducted periodically considering the water temperature salinity and live food as inhabited environments for fish.
음향조사를 이용한 포항 남구 바다목장해역에 서식하는 수산자원의 시·공간적인 분포

The purpose of this research is to investigate the temporal and spatial distributions of fishery resources living in and near artificial fishing banks of marine ranching area in Nam-gu, Pohang through an acoustic survey using a scientific fish finder. The survey was conducted twice in Nam-gu, Pohang on Apr 18 (1st) and Jul 17 (2nd) to investigate the distribution and density of fishery resources. The vertical distribution of the fishery resources was evenly shown across the entire water layers of the target sea area day and night in Apr. They were more distributed in the mid layer in day and night time in Jul. In both Apr and Jul, fishery resources with low acoustic intensity were found, and they were distributed in the deep sea. As for the spatial distribution of fishery resources, they were more distributed in open sea than inland sea of the target sea area in Apr. In Jul, however, they were evenly distributed in the entire sea area, and the density was relatively lower than Apr. As the distribution of fishery resources are different according to day time, night time, water level, season, submarine topography, etc., it requires continuous and systematic observations.
부이형 계량 어군탐지기를 이용한 기장 바다목장 해역에 서식하는 어군의 주·야간 연직운동 조사

The purpose of this study was to monitor the daytime, nighttime distribution of fish using buoy echo-sounder around artificial reefs in Gijang coastal areas. A acoustic data was collected using a 50 and 200 kHz dual beam transducer. A total of two surveys were performed in waters of Gijang marine ranching June, and September, 2018. Typically, the fish school showed different distribution density according to daytime, nightime time. Buoy echo sounder is capable of continuous measurement in one place for a long time, so that the daytime and nighttime distribution of fishes around artificial reefs can be grasped.
나로도 연안해역에 서식하는 수산생물의 계절별 종조성 및 어획량 변동

Seasonal variation in catch-per-unit-effort (CPUE), species composition, and size frequency distribution of major fish species were analyzed for gill net, trap net, and long line fishing gear in the Korean coastal area of Go-heung in 2017. The dominant fish species were Raja pulchra for gill nets, Octopus vulgaris for trap nets and Muraenesox cinereus for long lines. Seasonal catch was the greatest in July and the least in March. Catch according to type of fishing gear was the highest for trap nets and the lowest for gill nets. The dominant species are similar to seasonal biological properties. Species compositions did not vary greatly between seasons. The catch per unit effort according to type of fishing gear was the greatest for gill nets and trap nets in July and for long lines in May. Gill nets, trap nets, and long lines had the lowest in March. The catch per unit effort based on the number of fish catch was the greatest for trap nets in March and long line appears the lowest, with long line was the highest. The CPUE for gill nets was the lowest in May, July, and October. The catch per unit effort based on the weight of the fish catch was similar to the catch per unit effort based on the number of fish caught.

The objective of this study is to investigate the spatiotemporal distribution density of fishery resources in the waters of Dangjin Marine ranching, which is equipped with artificial reefs, by using the characteristics of an echo-sounder system, and to further examine the trends of inhabiting fishery resources according to the changes in season and submarine topography. A total of three surveys were performed in waters of Dangjin Nanji Island Marine ranching in June, August, and October, 2017. The results fo the surveys showed a low density of fish population in all the water columns. Typically, the fish school showed different distribution density according to daytime, nighttime, and submarine topography. A systematic and ongoing investigation of the relationship between artificial reefs and fish population as well as seasonal changes in water temperature is required to determine the clear distinctions in fish population density.

By applying super-high pressure (150-250 MPa) to a sealed pressure vessel, it is possible to make oyster shucking machine that automatically opens two-sheet shellfish or oysters. Possibility of developing a shucking machine was confirmed by identifying the working pressure for meat of oysters produced in the southern coast and conducting sensory evaluation of meat oysters. As a result of confirming the shucked oysters under super-high pressure of 150 MPa in the pressure vessel, the number of type A with separated shells and well-separated meat was 22 and type B with both shells and internal meat and shells not separated. For the oysters that were treated at 175 MPa, there were 58 type As with shell separated and meat well separated and 42 type Bs without oyster shells and insides. When looking at the oysters shucked at 200 MPa in the pressure vessel, the number of type A was 86 and type B was 14 accounting for 86% of oysters with good marketability. As a result of shucking oysters by applying 250 MPa, 96% type A oysters and 4% type B oysters were obtained from the total specimen. The total specimen oyster weight used in the conducted experiment was 6 kg, the average oyster shell weight was 3.99 kg and the average oyster meat weight was 1.25 kg. Therefore, the fatness of oyster meat, which measures the added value of oysters, is 20.8%. Sensory evaluation was conducted on thinned oysters by hand and type A oysters shelled by machine with an operating pressure of 200 MPa. The hand-worked oyster sample scored 4.7 points only in salty taste, and scored 5.0 or higher in color, shape, smell, fishy taste, texture and preference.

We developed an automatic oyster separating machine using high hydrostatic pressure, and conducted research related to improving the working environment and increasing production volume. Changes in the by pressure cast off performance and sensual properties of raw oysters (Crassostrea gigas) treated with high hydrostatic pressure were evaluated. At a pressure of 175 MPa or more, the shell removal rate was over 90%. Samples automatically separated using high hydrostatic pressures of 250 MPa, 200 MPa, and 175 MPa together with a manually separated sample were evaluated using a seven-point rating scale for appearance (color, shape), smell, taste (salty, fishy), texture, and preference. The manually separated sample had similar rating values to the 175 MPa automatically separated sample. In conclusion, it is necessary to continue evaluation of the machine’s performance, sensory evaluation, oyster quality improvement oysters and development of technology for future commercialization.
