Recently, public design has become one of the big issues in Korea. Municipal government presented a number of projects related to public design. Seoul city also has many public design policies to improve the city image and to raise competitiveness through design. 'Design Seoul Public Design Guidelines' is one of the plans. This study aims to analyze 'the design guidelines for public spaces' among' Design Seoul Public Design Guidelines (DSPDG)' by Universal Design principles. Looking at the changing demography and lifestyles in our societies with a growing number of people of higher age and with functional restrictions and needs of various kinds and degrees, the issue of user oriented, appropriate standard is becoming more and more important. From this point of view, the principles of universal design should be seen as a quality assurance process in the whole public design process. 217 design guideline items of DSPDG were selected, and then it was analyzed by customized 'Product Performance Program'(PPP) which is based on 'Universal Design 7 principles'· As the result, the characteristics of 'Design Seoul Public Space Design Guidelines' were identified. 'Accessibility', 'Esthetics' and 'Safety' were the dominant principles over all the items. We expected the findings would be helpful not only to understanding Universal Design, but also to designing public environments for the users.

Recently, public design has become one of the big issues in Korea. Seoul city also has many public design policies to improve the city image and to raise competitiveness through design. 'Design Seoul Street' is one of the projects. This study aims to evaluate 'Design Seoul Street' based on Universal Design. The Street environment elements was categorized by street, resting facilities, sanitary facilities, service facilities, passage facilities, protection facilities, traffic facilities, green facilities, lighting facilities, management facilities and traffic sign. The 25 street environment items of 4 streets which were completed recently were evaluated by checklists. The checklists which are based on 'Universal Design principles' are consist of 307 items. The major findings are summarized as follows: 1) Overall result of evaluation of 'Design Seoul Street' based on Universal Design was measured 4.16 point on a 5-point scale. 2) The results of evaluation based on Universal Design for each facility are as follows: Manhole, Road sign, Aboveground Elevator, Pavement and Switchboard was high grade, Traffic sign, Public phone booth, Information board was low grade.3) Resting facilities such as bench, shelter are needed more to reduce physical effort and green facilities are needed more in the K street case. Also all information board should have braille and proper height for diverse users. The results will be expected to make contributions to developing universal design checklists for street environment, to understanding the nature of universal design paradigm, and to establishing directions for sustainable public design for the users.
온라인 강의시청 맥락에서 사용자 주도의 컨트롤제한을 통한 인지된 비통제성이 강의 집중에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 심리적반발이론에 근거하여, 온라인 학습서비스의 동영상 강의시청맥락에서 사용자의 시스템 통제권을 제약하는 역발상적인 시스템 요인을 제시하였다. 이를 통해 사용자로 하여금 통제성의 상실감에 대한 인지(인지된 비통제성)가 강의 시청에서의 집중을 유도할 수 있음을 기존 연구에 대한 탐색을 통해 이론적 근거를 들어 가설화 하였고, 실험과 설문을 통해 가설 검증을 위한 데이터를 수집하였으며, 이를 분석, 설정된 가설이 통계적으로 유의미함을 검증하였다. Based on Psychological reactance theory, we presented a creative system feature which could restrict the user`s perceived control. Through this, we had set hypotheses insisting perception of user`s deprived freedom could cause user`s concentration on lecture, also collected data to confirm our hypotheses. Finally, we analyzed the data, so that investigated they are all statistically signified.

In this study, absorption behaviors of absorbents and additives were measured for removing of H₂S and COS from syn-gas in IGCC process, such as MDEA and HMDA. The experimental variables were concentration of absorbents and reaction temperature. From these experiments, the loading ratios of H₂S were decreased with increasing of concentration of absorbents and absorption temperatures. These results will be applied to basic data for designing of H₂S removal process in IGCC.
Aging in Place를 지원해주는 유니버설디자인 욕실설비 및 제품 특성 분석연구

This study aims to analyze universal design bathroom and its products supporting 'aging in place' of elderly people with the consideration of physical and mental characteristics of aging. Five Universal Design principles were employed as an analysis tool. They are 'Supportiveness', 'Adaptability', 'Communicability', 'Pleasantness' and 'Accessibility', which were developed from previous research. The profile and trends of the universal design paradigm applied to the selected bathroom products were identified and the concrete design characteristics were presented as well. 'Supportiveness', 'Adaptability' were dominant principles over all the products and 'Pleasantness' relevant to safety and cleanliness was also a major design principle. Finally, we expected the findings would be helpful not only to understanding universal design paradigm, but also to facilitating bathroom product design guidelines supporting aging in place.
