In this study, we developed a game interface using EMG signal. The developed system could be chosen between single channel mode and four-channel mode. A single channel system can control one of the keys on the keyboard using amplitude EMG signal. The system for acquiring EMG signals consists of four channel. The motions were defined up, right, down and left state. The user"s intent was recognized through thresholding and comparing signals of each channel. The result of direction classification could be controled the arrow keys on the keyboard. An occurred keyboard event could be substituted for the game interface. A developed system can be expected on effective treatment to an interesting rehabilitation.

In this study, the upper limbs rehabilitation with active excise load control system based on EMG was developed. In order to evaluate the usefulness of the developed the upper limbs rehabilitation with active excise load control system, the exercise test was conducted to 6 healthy men without musculoskeletal system disorder. With these test the responsibility of exercise load to the changing of IEMG, and the changing of rating of perceived exertion with the exercise load were discussed. As a result, we confirmed the usefulness with reliability of the developed system and the relations between the rating of perceived exertion of subjects and each parameter. The results of this study could be useful to the individual treatment planning include the initial load-balancing and the amount of exercise.
편마비 환자의 재활을 위한 다채널 근전도 시스템의 적용

In this paper, a multi-channel electromyogram (EMG) based interactive wireless game device, which can supply visual feedback and motivation to help the hemiplegia patients was proposed. Game contents were developed on all channel modes that could control the speed and level depending on the status of the patent"s recovery. The survey was conducted for the validation of this device from the seven hemiplegia patients. We confirmed the satisfaction of the developed system and necessity of this study. Authors believe that this system will give an opportunity of entertaining rehabilitation to the hemiplegia patients.
등척성 운동 시 근육의 단축성 운동과 신장성 운동에 따른 근피로도 평가

본 연구에서는 등척성 운동 시 단축성 운동과 신장성 운동에 따른 이두근과 삼두근의 근피로도 변화를 근전도를 통해 평가하였다. 건강한 남성12명을 대상으로 팔꿈치 관절의 최대 굴곡을 통한 단축성 운동과 최대 신전을 통한 신장성 운동을 수행하였다. 획득한 근전도 신호는 시간 영역과 주파수 영역에서 Integrated EMG(IEMG)와 Mean Power Frequency(MNF)로 분석하였다. 단축성 운동과 신장성 운동 모두에서 이두근과 삼두근의 IEMG는 증가하였고 MNF는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 하지만 근 피로지수는 운동 방법에 따라 근의 길이가 신장되는 부위에서 더 높게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 단축성 운동과 신장성 운동에서 근의 피로는 이두근과 삼두근에서 모두 일어나며 근의 길이 변화가 근의 피로에 영향을 미치는 것으로 사료된다. In this study, muscle fatigue of biceps and triceps during isometric exercise depending on concentric contraction and eccentric contraction was evaluated using EMG. 12 healthy male volunteers was performed concentric exercise and eccentric exercise by maximum flection and extension of elbow joint. Integrated EMG (IEMG) in time domain and mean power frequency (MNF) in frequency domain were calculated. MNF of the biceps and triceps was decreased, whereas IEMG was increased during concentric contraction and eccentric contraction. But muscle fatigue index appeared higher at region of stretched muscle length. in this result, muscle fatigue occurs at both biceps and triceps muscle during concentric and eccentric exercise, and muscle fatigue was affected by muscle contraction and extension.
재활운동을 위한 능동형 근전도 바이오피드백 시스템 평가

본 연구에서는 근전도 신호를 기반으로 하여 환자의 재활 운동 시 발생하는 근 피로도의 변화에 따른 능동형 운동 부하 제어 시스템을 개발하였다. 본 능동형 부하 제어 시스템에 적합한 근 파라미터를 선정하기 위해 건강한 남성 12명을 대상으로 사전 실험을 수행하여 근전도 신호를 획득하였다. 또한 선정된 근 파라미터를 이용한 능동형 운동 부하 제어 시스템을 평가하기 위하여 근 골격계 질환이 없는 건강한 남성 10명을 대상으로 실험을 수행하였다. IEMG(Integrated electromyogram) 변화에 따른 운동 부하 변화를 관찰하여 개발된 능동형 부하 제어 시스템의 유용성 및 정확성을 확인하였으며, 개인의 주관적 피로도를 나타내는 운동자각도(rating of perceived exertion)를 활용하여 근 피로도와의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제안한 능동형 운동 부하 제어 시스템은 재활 운동 수행 시 환자 개개인에 적합한 초기 부하 및 운동량 조절에 유용할 것으로 사료된다. In this study, the active exercise load control system was developed that monitors patient’s muscular condition based on EMG signals and controls the load by biofeedback in real-time. In order to select appropriate muscular parameter for the system, the pre-exercise test was performed to obtain EMG signals from healthy 12 males. Subsequently, the main exercise test was performed to evaluate the active exercise load control system based on IEMG: a selected muscular parameter, on healthy 10 males without musculoskeletal disorder. The accuracy and availability of developed system were confirmed through observing changes between exercise load and IEMG. A correlation was analyzed between the fatigue of muscles and RPE indicating the individual subjective fatigue. As a result, the active exercise load control system that was suggested in this study could be useful to control the initial load-balancing and the amount of exercise appropriate for individual in rehabilitation exercise therapy.
초고주파 가열치료를 위한 MR 호환 동축 슬롯 안테나의 개발

MR compatible coaxial-slot antenna for microwave hyperthermia was developed while its structure and size of each part were determined by computer simulation using finite element method(FEM). Its local heating performance was evaluated using tissue-mimic phantom and swine muscles. 2% agarose gel mixed with 6mM/$\ell$ $MnCl_2$ as a biological tissue-mimic phantom was heated by the proposed antenna driven by a 2.45GHz microwave generator. The temperature changes of the phantom were monitored using multi-channel digital thermometer at the distance of 0mm, 5mm, 10mm and 20mm from the tip center of the antenna. Also muscle tissue of swine was heated for 2 and 5minutes with 50W and 30W of microwave generator powers, respectively, to evaluate the local heating performance of the antenna. MRI compatibility was also verified by acquiring MR images and MR temperature map. MR signals were acquired from the agarose gel phantom using $T2^*$ GRE sequence with 1.5T clinical MRI scanner(Signa Echospeed, GE, Milwaukee, WI, U.S.A.) at Pusan Paik Hospital and were transferred to PC in order to reconstruct MR images and temperature map using proton resonance frequency(PRF) method and laboratory-developed phase unwrapping algorithm. Authors found that it has no severe distortion due to the antenna inserted into the phantom. Finally, we can conclude that the suggested coaxial-slot antenna has an excellent local heating performance for both of tissue-mimic phantom and swine muscle, and it is compatible to 1.5T MRI scanner.
생물활성정보수가 종양 유래 동물세포 성장에 미치는 영향에 관한 고찰

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of organism vigor information solution(OVIS) on the animal cell growth and to set up a condition for cell culture. We investigated the reactions on the MG-63 and MCF-7 cell line in mixture culture media with various amount of REVIEW solution, which is an example among various OVIS. DMEM-HG was used as basic media. The concentration range of the mixture was limited from 0% to 15%. MTT assay is used for cell viability test. The cell was incubated for 14days and the MTT assay was performed on day 1, 3, 7, 10 and 14 throughout the experiment. We used the ELISA reader to measure the Optical Density(O.D) at 595 nm wavelength filter. MCF-7 was linearly proliferated according to culture time and concentrations of OVIS. On the other hand, MG-63 cells were measured the highest O.D value at 12%. The growth rates of both cells cultured in mixed culture media with OVIS are much higher than those in only basic media, DMEMHG, after 14days. It was confirmed that cell cultured at OVIS grows rapidly at certain period although cells showed a negative effect in initial stage.

Bridcage RF coil is one of the most widely used RF coils in MRI. In order to use birdcage RF coils in open MRI systems, an open tructured birdcage RF coil has been investigated. By opening the ring structure of an original birdcage RF coil and driving the coil at two opening ends, the original birdcage RF coil can be modified to an open structured coil. In order to improve magnetic field uniformity of the open birdcage RF coil, driving voltage phases at the two opening ends can be controlled to be in-phase or out-of-phase each other. Operating frequency of the open birdcage RF coil has been theoretically derived, and the theoretical derivation has been verified by experiments.
