In this paper, the low velocity response of four different sandwich panels with metal and laminate composite facesheets has been investigated by conducting drop- weight impact tests using an instrumented falling-weight impact tower. Square samples of 100m m sides were subjected low-velocity impact loading using an instrumented testing machine at six energy levels. Impact para meters like maximum force, time to maximum force, deflection at maximum force and absorbed energy were evaluated and compared for four different types of sandwich panels. The impact test results show that sandwich panel with composite laminate facesheet could not observe damage mode of a permanent visible indentation after impact and has a good impact damage resistance in comparison with sandwich panel with metal aluminum facesheet.

After 1974 an EMU, which is the first line opened, the car"s term of endurance is introduced, End of life on the step, gradually the rate of cars out of service are increasing. In the country, we consider about recycled source, aspects of social economic of cars out of service and so on, treat efficiently and reasonable. According to research first we make investigations about the present situation and the actual condition of cars out of service then we should lay out schemes efficiently.
전동차 환경 전과정 평가(LCA)를 위한 소프트웨어 기본설계

As a global effort to conservate the environment, life cycle assessment(LCA) which considers the environmental impact through the life cycle of a product, from acquiring of resources to scrapping, has been actively applied. The LCA is a tool to calculate quantitatively the environmental impacts caused by products or services through their life cycles. The list of numerous data should be analyzed, stored and conducted in order to assess the environmental impacts. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a software for LCA, which can perform the interpretation as well as the environment impact assessment to execute the analysis of such a large number of data effectively. At this time, for the existing some kinds of general LCA softwares, the information about all of input and output should be fed directly and the conclusion is deduced by linking to the database from the public authorized organizations. That makes it possible to evaluate the environmental grades accurately, but it is too slow and difficult for general users to operate and applied it into an electric motor unit(EMU). Therefore, in this research, the basic model was designed, which is based on construction of database structure of the software and organization of architecture, to develop an advanced software for EMU according to user and purpose of it by benchmarking of domestic and international softwares. The result of this study would be applied to develop the LCA software in the future.

In this paper, an estimation system of vehicle position and orientation on magnetic lane, which is a parameter of the steering controller for automated lane follwing is described. To verify that the magnetic dipole model could be applied to a magnetic unit paved in roadway, the analysis of the the data 3-axis magnetic field measured experimentally.

In recent railroad markets, the use of steel sleepers is gradually increased due to various advantages in resistance for impact as well as economical efficiency for production, construction, maintenance and recycle. The typical steel sleepers which are successfully used in railroad markets are n-type of Corus Inc. in England and Y-type of ThyssenKrupp Gft Cleistechnik in Germany. Both types have merits and demerits in safety and economical efficiency. In 1990, n-type steel sleeper was developed in Korea, but was failed in putting into practical use, due to the subsidence into the ballast by live loads and welding crack, etc.. In this paper, in order to develop optimal shape of n-type steel sleepers for domestic railroads, parametric studies for cross section, thickness, are performed.
자기저항센서를 이용한 페라이트와 네오디뮴 자석의 특성분석

본 논문에서는 자기저항 센서를 이용하여 자율주행 시스템에서 필요로 하는 자석의 종류에 따른 자계의 특성을 분석하였다. 분석결과 거리에 따라 자계의 특성이 변화하고, 자석에 근접할수록 자계의 변화가 급격하게 나타난다. 센서가 자석에서 멀어질 수록 지자계의 값에 가까워진다. 또한 페라이트자석 보다 네오디뮴 자석의 자계특성이 우수함을 보였다.

It is consequential to reduce the environmental impact of a product for sustainable development in 21st Century. In the field of transportation, especially, the technological market concerned about reduction and assessment of greenhouse gas emission is expected to be extended. The LCA has been esteemed and utilized as a realistic alternative to improve the environment by the assessment of environmental impacts. In this study, simplified life cycle assessment(S-LCA) was performed to analyze the environmental impacts quantitatively, which were produced through the life cycle of a electric motor unit(EMU). The object of the present work is to investigate main parameters of environmental impacts and to establish the plans to improve the environment impact of EMU. As a result of quantitative assessment for environmental impact and manufacturing, the EMU carbody made of SUS showed acidification(AD) and marine water aquatic ecotoxicity(MAET) the most, while that made of Mild showed high impact of global warming(GW) and abiotic resources depletion(ARD). For the SUS EMU, the high AD and MAET impact is occurred by the discharged pollutants during acid-washing process. Also, high value of GW and ARD for Mild EMU is resulted from the consumption of iron ore, coal and crude oil during manufacturing. Therefore, the environment impact of carbody would be decreased by enhancing of energy efficiency and the lightening the weight of it.

Light weight of vehicles by composite materials makes possible high speed, energy saving, and low repair cost. As Bimodal Tram and Tilting Train eXpress(TTX) use carbon composite material for their bodies, safety for passengers and electrical devices against unexpected failures has been issued more than ever. Lightning strike which generates high voltages and large currents is the worst case for the safety of passengers and devices. With this background, we experimentally investigated the insulation breakdown phenomena on carbon composite materials by the application of lightning surge voltage and current. From the experimental results, we could estimate whether the composite body is safe or not for the inside passengers and devices against lightning strikes.

The public transportation in operation or to be planned domestically includes subway, LRT, bimodal tram and bus, which are independently characterized in their passenger capacity and cost. High quality service is generally accompanied by high cost of construction and operation. Thus, ITS, BIS/BMS and BRT system are recently introduced to provide high quality service to the passengers with the cost as low as possible. The bimodal tram is under development to achieve such goals in public transportation. The passenger capacity is approximately expected to be 10,000~17,000 persons/hour and the construction cost to be 10~30 million dollars/km. It is possible to construct the infrastructure gradually depending on the demand of transportation in the planned route, which can effectively reduce the initial cost to launch the service. The bimodal tram is developed to provide the advantages of subway and bus to the passengers with respect to the scheduled operation and flexibility of the lines.
