        혈관내 스텐트를 이용하여 경정맥구 게실에 의한 박동성 이명을 치료한 증례보고

        Pulsatile tinnitus is a rare otologic symptom that presents a diagnostic and management dilemma for experienced otolaryngologists. Treatment options range from conservative management to surgery, but patients may not be able to tolerate symptoms with the former and the latter procedure may be associated with significant morbidity We describe the case of using a stent-assisted coil approach to treating a patient with jugular bulb diverticulum (JBD) and severe pulsatile tinnitus. We describe a 41-year-old woman who presented with disabling pulsatile tinnitus due to right JBD. Both surgical or endovascular approaches were possible, but we decided to treat the diverticulum with coil emboli-zation and stenting of the jugular bulb. Following the procedure, tinnitus presence and severity were self-reported or assessed using the tinnitus handicap inventory (THI) and tinnitus magnitude index (TMI). The total score of both THI and TMI improved in 6 months after surgery, and there was no complication. Therefore, we report this experience, which was resolved through successful endovas-cular coiling and stent procedure for severe pulsatile tinnitus with no complication.

      • 다물체 동역학 해석을 위한 마찰 접촉 모델링에 대한 연구

        This paper presents the method to remove the slip problem of the friction contact modeling employed in most of multibody dynamic analysis programs. Even if contact occurs between two rigid bodies with no slip condition, most of contact algorithms developed so far provide the results of low speed slip motion. The friction coefficient is defined as a spline function of relative velocities in most commercial codes. Such a function resolved the problem of the discontinuity in friction force. However, when the relative velocity approaches zero, friction coefficient approaches zero too. So, slip occurs when small force is applied. This problem of low speed slip is resolved in this study with a new modeling method.

        다물체계의 자려진동 구현을 위한 마찰 모델링

        This paper presents a friction model to realize self-excited vibration of multi-body systems. The friction coefficient is modeled with a spline function in most commercial codes. Even if such a function resolves the problem of discontinuity in friction force, it cannot realize self-excited vibration phenomena. Furthermore, as the relative velocity approaches zero, the friction coefficient approaches zero with the conventional model. So, slip occurs when small force is applied to the system. To avoid these problems a new friction model is proposed in this study. With the new friction model, the self-excited vibration can be realized since the friction coefficient changes with the relative velocity. Furthermore, the slip phenomena could be reduced significantly with the proposed model.

      • Two New Marine Tardigrades from Palawan Island, the Philippines

        Two new marine tardigrades, florarctus kwoni n. sp. and Batillipes philippinensis n. sp. belonging to Halechiniscidae and Batillipedidae, respectively, are described on the basis of the specimens sieved from sublittoral coral sands and shell gravels of Palawan Island, the Philippines. florarctus kwoni n. sp. is characterized by the rocket-shaped aliform expansion, with the distal margin of posterior ala flattened. Batillipes philippinensis n. sp. closely resembles B. similis Schulz, 1955 and B. annulatus De Zio, 1962. However, it is clearly discernible from the former by the shape of lateral body projection between leg III and leg IV, and the relative length of cirrus E and the spine on leg IV, and from the latter by the shape of the lateral body projection and the clavar shape. This is the first report of the marine tardigrades from the Philippines.

      • Three New Tardigrade Species Associated with Barnacles from the Thca Coast of Andaman Sea

        Three new marine heterotardigrades, Archechiniscus symbalanus, and Styraconyx craticuliformis of the family Halechiniscidae and Echiniscoides andamanensis of the family Echiniscoididae, are reported on the basis of the specimens sieved from intertidal barnacles in the Thai coast of the Andaman Sea. Archechinisos symbalanus n. sp. is related to Archehiniscus minutus Grimaldi De Zio and D'Addabbo Gallo, but discernible from it by possessing median cirrus, stylet sheath, sensory spine of leg l, prominent basal processes on all leg pairs, and S-shaped seminal receptacles. Styraconyx craticuliformis n. sp. is similar to S. craticulus (Pollock) in bearing the grid-like dorsal cuticle, but distinguished from it by the shape of claws and cirrophore of primary clava. Ediniscoides andamanensis n. sp. is rebated to Echiniscoides pollocki Hallas and Kristensen and E. sigismundi sigismundi (M. Schultze) in sharing the same patterns of sensory leg appendages and the claw configuration of 8-8-8-7, but characterized by the shape of cirri, pharyngeal apparatus and female gonopore.

      • Mulligan의 테이핑 이용에 관한 고찰

        According to Mulligan, taping is relatively difficult to quantify. In addition, it was said that only one or two days were applied due to abnormal reactions of most skin. Nevertheless, taping is a necessary tool for the treatment of dysfunction. Mulligan used most of the taping applications to maintain the effect of manual therapy. It was also used as an alternative to manual therapy. Mulligan's taping method can be seen as functional taping in the author's pursuit of orthopedic medicine taping. Orthopedic medicine taping divides musculoskeletal dysfunction into contractile and non-contractile tissues and presents each treatment. Among them, functional taping is an approach to the problem of dysfunction in non-contractile tissues. Many studies have also reported that applying various interventions suitable for the disease together rather than using only one treatment can expect a higher therapeutic effect. From this point of view, taping is considered to be valuable for research as one of the techniques that is quite easy to use in combination with manual therapy.

      • 점착성의 탄력성 테이핑에 의한 시간별 피부자극 정도에 관한 연구

        Background : Standards for preventing skin damage caused by physical and chemical stimulation of tape have been needed. Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the degree of skin irritation of taping over time and the appropriate application time. Methods : The skin reactivity was evaluated after we removed the tape at the inside of the upper arm after 1 hour, 4 hours, 12 hours, and 24 hours. Result : Four hours later, all participants had even a mild symptom of redness. Until 4 hours after taping, half of participants feel mild itching, but There were no more serious symptoms. However, waiting for 12 hours, two participants who felt mild itching complained moderate symptom and when we wait for 24 hours, two asymptomatic participants complained mild symptom. During study, 30% of participants felt burning sensation in the contact area overall six participants complained of tightness. and ,among them, four of participants felt it after 12 hours and the rest felt it after 24 hours. Conclusion : To lower the probability of adverse skin reactions,If it is difficult to accurately determine the skin condition,we thought that limiting the taping to about 4 hours is recommended.

        화순 탄광의 이산화탄소 탐사 저장자원량 평가

        South Korea's carbon neutrality policies are causing the domestic coal industry to contract, leading to interests in repurposing abandoned coal mines as CO2 storage sites. This study investigated the relationship between coal particle size and CO2 adsorption, specifically focusing on the Hwasun coal mine. The findings reveal that smaller coal particles exhibit higher CO2 adsorption capacities, demonstrating substantial storage potential. However, the injection of supercritical CO2 requires a depth of 800 m, whereas the Hwasun coal mine reaches a depth of only 560 m. Therefore, further exploration and capacity assessment are essential. Assuming a 1-m-thick coal layer below 800 m, the CO2 injection well could store 27–320 thousand tons of CO2. Additionally, even in the event of leakage into the lower tunnel, the high CO2 adsorption capacity of coal could effectively mitigate such occurrences.

        심한 두부하강 자세가 맥압변이도에 미치는 영향

        Background: The effects of head-down position on dynamichemodynamic variables remain without full understanding. Weevaluated the effects of steep head-down position on the pulsepressure variation (PPV). Methods: Forty patients were positioned at 30o head-downposition after anesthesia induction. We measured the heart rate(HR), arterial blood pressure (BP) and PPV before and 2 minutesafter the position change. Results: PPV and HR decreased (9.3 ± 3.2% to 4.6 ± 1.8%, 67.2± 11.4 to 62.4 ± 7.8, respectively) after steep head-down position,whereas the BP increased. Baseline PPV was related withdecreases of PPV (r2 = −0.83, P < 0.0001). An 8% PPV thresholddiscriminated the patients with more than 5% decreases of absolutePPV value. The area under the receiver operating characteristiccurve was 0.98 (95% CI = 0.88 to 1.00, P < 0001). Conclusions: Steep head-down position caused decreases inPPV. Higher PPV at the supine position decreased more after theposition change. Further investigations are required to assess thesignificance, the duration and the relationship with fluid responsivenessof this change.
