담수산 지각류 Moina irrasa 의 생태학적 연구

Quantitative zooplankton samples were collected twice a week during the period from April 1-July 30, 1994 in the vicinity of Inchon City. Moina irrasa occurred from April 24 to July 3 at temperature ranging between 18∼33℃ (optimum temperature: 25℃). This species always occurred together with other crustacean zooplankters. Its population density ranged from 150 to 18,900 individuals per liter of water and its proportion varied between 1.6 and 92.3% of zooplankton abundance. Swarm volume varied between 0.4 and 64 liter and the maximum size of the swarm of M. irrasa was 791,681 Individuals. Its body length (BL) and body width(BW) ranged between 0.98∼1.68 mm and 0.62∼1.52 mm, respectively and the fluctuation of BL coincided with that of BW. M. irrasa was clearly divided into two groups with its BW, viz., population with its BW> 1.1 mm and <1.1 mm. Mean fecundity in terms of the number of embryos per batch varied between 2.28∼27.91 and the maximum was 29 embyos. Intensive resting egg production occurred at the earlier period of appearance. No significant relationship was observed between brood size and adult size. Positive correlations of siginificance between BW of two populations (BW>1.1 mm: r^2= 0.32 and <1.1 mm: r^2=0.46), and brood volume, however, is observed respectively.

Zooplankton samples were collected quantitatively everyday during the period from May 10∼24, 1996 in the vicinity of Inchon City. Moina irrasa occurred from May 10 at temperature ranging from 18 to 33℃(optimum temperature, 25℃), pH ranged from 7.45 to 8.6. This species was always accompanied with other crustacean zooplankters. Its population density ranged from 319 to 1,857 individuals per liter of water and its proportion varied from 46 to 100% of total zooplankton abundance. Its body length (BL) and body width (BW) ranged from 0.98∼1.68 mm and 0.62∼1.52 mm, respectively and the fluctuation of BL coincided with that of BW. Mean fecundity in terms of the number of embryos per batch varied between 2.02∼36.02 and the maximum was 75 embryos. Resting egg production occurred on May 18. To clarify the relationship between growth and reproduction, BW/BL were measured. From the first occurrence till May 18, the value of BW/BL showed over 0.7, and then decreased below 0.7. Decrease of body width, mean fecundity, and BW/BL are suggested to be caused by the decrease of their reproduction.

The present study has been carried out to clarify the taxonomy and distribution of the genus Lucifer in Korean waters. The samples were collected during the period from March, 1987 to February, 1989. five species from seven areas of Lucifer were identified : L. chacei, L. hanseni, L. intermedius, L. penicillifer, L. typus, All species were described and illusterated for the first time in Korean waters. From the distributional viewpoint, L. intermedius occurred most abundantly in all areas, but L. typus occurred only in the cheju area. Regionally, all the five species of Lucifer were found in the Cheju area. In Youngkwang area, only one species, L. intermedius occurred.
먹이농도 변화에 따른 담수산 지각류 Moina irrasa 의 개체군 동태에 관한 연구

Freshwater cladoceran Moina irrasa were cultured in a multi room incubator (Vision, VS1203P4) at 25℃ with green algae, Chlorella vulgaris to investigate the effects on the growth and reproduction of M. irrasa population with three different food concentrations (2×10^4, 10^5, 10^6 cells ℓ^-1) in the laboratory. Population density of M. irrasa increased exponentially even at law food concentration (2×10^4 cells ℓ^-1), and the increasing patterns of population density were similar. Mean body length (BL) of juveniles hatched within 12 hours were 0.71 mm and the body length increased greatly when they had first and second eggs and after then, the increasing rate of body length decreased. The body width (BW) of Juveniles hatched within 12 hours were 0.4 mm and the body width increased greatly when they had first eggs and after then, the increasing rate of body width decreased and after 7 days of the experiment, the body width decreased. The maximum body width at 2×10^4cells ℓ^-1 were 1.12 mm, and 1.18 mm and 1.17 mm at 10^6 cells ℓ^-1 and 10^5 cells ℓ^-1, respectively. Mean BW/BL increased until their first reproduction and decreased gradually at the end of the experiment. Maximum BW/BL of Monia irrasa was 0.77 when they had maximum embryos. Mean fecundity varied between 15 and 28, and the maximum fecundity of 30 embryos was observed at third brood at the food concentration of 10^6 cells ℓ^-1. At 10^5 cells ℓ^-1, adults were carrying eggs at the third days of the experiment and after then they carried eggs every two days.
