The main purpose of this paper is to suggest the application of Health Risk Assessment method to indoor air quality evaluation to consider the potential of the quantitative health index as an IAQ evaluation index. Health Risk Assessment(HRA) is a method that can evaluate the health impact of various pollutants quantitatively. HRA is a concept that is mainly handled in medical studies, and documented by US EPA. It consists of four steps: hazard identification, dose-response assessment, exposure assessment, and risk characterization. This study tried to apply a simple numerical model including physical environment estimation model and spray usage scenario, which can predict indoor contaminant emission from building material and daily usage of spray to exposure assessment step of HRA method. According to the survey, the usage pattern of spray in daily life had a large deviation. So two version of scenarios, upper 30% and average, was evaluated and compared. And the target VOCs were limited to toluene and benzene. The result of numerical analysis and HRA showed a significant difference between the two scenarios. The non-carcinogenic health risk, Hazard Quotient of benzene had a higher value than that of toluene despite the higher LADD(Lifetime Average Daily Dose) value of toluene. And the carcinogenic health risk, ECR(Excess Cancer Risk) of benzene was above the EPA’s guideline.

Thermal Management in the Electric Vehicel is essential to improve the battery performance. This paper aims at the investigating the performance of Phase Change Material to prevent the thermal runway in the EVs. The better phase change materials are identified through simulation, based on heat transfer rate through the PCM. The design of the battery module was done in auto cad and the analysis done in ANSYS CFD software. The three pcms like paraffin wax, RT and Expanded Graphite were selected for the comparison. From the simulation result it was identified that the battery pack temperature maximum is not beyond the 60℃ (safe operating temperature range) in all test condition with the Expanded Graphite pcm material. The results were validated with numerical calculation and shown good agreement based on data collected at different temperatures.

The purpose of this paper is to study effectiveness of natural ventilation alarm device which can improve indoor air quality(IAQ) and residents" thermal comfort in brief way like opening windows to bring some natural ventilation. To prove performance of the alarm device, we set it and data loggers in a real apartment building since 2014 April 14th to July 15th. With analyzed dry-bulb, relative humidity data, we calculated predicted mean vote(PMV), response coefficient and amount of energy saving. Calculated PMV and response coefficient show not only residents" psychological demand for thermal comfort or IAQ but thermal acceptability. Through predicted amount of saved energy, finally, effectiveness of this device can be proved.

Solar tracking system has the asembly of remote servo control and remote monitoring. It is composed of solar illumination of the solar azimuth one solar cell sensor device for detecting a value and integrated control device including the integrated control panel for remote transmission by the wireless communication by the servo control and solar module assembly to follow the sun azimuth in response to the control signal. The proposed algorithm is verified through experimental results.
