A study of appling solar assisted heat pump heating system to Korean climatic charac-teritics has been undertaken through computer simulation using TRNSYS (A Transient System Simulation Program). It is insufficient for heating system composed of each of solar and heat pump system to supply heat met with heating load. So SAHP (Solar Assisted Heat Pump) heating systems which combined solar system with heat pump system are analized using the standard weather data of Korea. And SAHP heating systems are categorized into the series system in which the solar storage is used as the source for the heat pump, the parallel system in which ambient air is used as the source for the heat pump, and the dual source system in which the storage or ambient is used as the source depending on which source yields the lowest work input. These combined system are better than each of solar and heat pump heating system in view of thermal performance, and parallel system is most effective among these combined systems.

This study simulates a typical solar system using the transient simulation program TRNSYS, and calculates the maximum cooling load of the model room of $50m^2$. In this study, energy rate control method is used in calculating a maximum cooling load. On the ground of the maximum cooling load of the model room, the variables that have an effect on the solar collection performance of the solar system are made a selection. Also in this study the trend of the solar collection performance is shown as the variables change. The results show that the variables which have an effect on the collection performance are collector area, collector mass flow rate, collector slope and the volume of storage tank, and the optimal value of Ac/Vt is not constant but varies as the collector area and the collector mass flow rate. Also the results show that for cooling system the optimal value of the collector slope is latitude minus $15^{\circ}$ during the seasonal operations, and twenty percent of the maximum cooling load is saved with the aid of the solar energy.

As the competition of the automotive industry has risen. efficient plastic materials are now being used to reduce weight. cost. and noise. These apply to underhood parts as well as interior/exterior parts in automobile. The representative plastic example of replacing aluminum materials in underhood parts is an air intake manifold which is to be used nylon resins as substitute materials. As nylon air intake manifolds continue to grow in automotive applications. trends in assembly techniques and system integration will affect material performance requirements and final material selection. Keeping these trends in mind. this paper will examine several nylon materials in relation to material requirements( heat resistance. chemical resistance. weld ability . burst pressure test etc )

The selection of the plastics material for the automotive parts is very important step because it should be considered the all factors from the weight down. cost reduction. quality improvement at the application step to the recyclability at the disposal step. Nowadays. the material trend of the automotive parts is enlarging the amount of the environment-friendly material and using the environmentally harzadous materials such as PVC is being restricted gradually. So. in this study. some automotive parts are selected. and PP/SBS blend material is developed with considering the requirements for the each part as PVC replacing material.

America and .Japan have already conducted the LCA in components of vehicle and complete vehicle. This paper contained the content of LCA conduct. Daewoo Motor Company also conduct the LCA of Bumper and Camcover by material difference. The Automobile manufacturers will be able to use the LCA as tool to evaluate the environmentally friendlier product.

The purpose of this study is to obtain the dynamic characteristics of an absorption refrigerator powered by solar energy by experiments. Since the absorption refrigerator power by solar energy should have the characteristics which is suitable for the intermittence and rarity of solar energy, not only the characteristics of the steady state operations but also the partial load and the transient operations should be considered. The minimum available temperature of the storage tank should be known, and the absorption refrigerator can be suitably selected for air-conditioning systems. In this study, the experimental data of the transient state for on-off and warming-up operations has been obtained. Also the experiments are performed which test the minimum available temperature of the storage tank. The results show that it takes 1 hour to get to the steady state of the absorption refrigerator, and the minimum available temperature of the storage tank is about 68℃, and show that in the partial load operations the performance of the absorption refrigerator is improved by applying the modified control method to on-off operations.

Incoming environmental legislation is expected to impose recycling activities on automotive industry. Disassembly of end of life vehicle is needed in order to make recycling economically viable in the current .state of the art of reprocessing technology. thus avoiding the future high disposal costs. this study gives an overview of disassembly research at research centers and automotive companies. pointing out ongoing topics and trends for future activities. Among them. major attention has been paid to basic technological development. product design. process design and system design. A result of the study is that futher developments on disassemble of existing products is needed allow future products to be designed with recycling considerations in minds.
