Objective: This study was conducted to automatically improve the completeness and validity of the Daegu Cancer Registry, using cross record linkage of many data sources, and to develop a computerized patient enrollment system for efficient communication among cancer researchers via the internet. Method: We analyzed 10,229 cancer patients who were reported in the National Cancer Registry, and from pathological reports, health insurance cancer claims lists, cancer patient records at hospital information centers and death certificates from the Korea National Statistical Office. Result: We confirmed 4,624 cancer patients and found 897 of new cases from a review of medical chart. The new cases were detected efficiently using cross record linkage. We developed a computerized patient enrollment system, based on a client-sewer model, for the input of cancer patients, and then developed a web-based reporting homepage and patient enrollment system for the internet. Conclusion: This system could manage cancer databases systematically, and could be given to other researchers as a basic database.
EPB Shield TBM의 스크루 컨베이어 시스템에 관한 실험적 연구

본 논문에서는 EPB Shield TBM장비에서 사용되는 체임버 내의 토압을 제어하고 막장의 안전을 유지하는 버력처리시스템인 스크루 컨베이어를 축소 제작하여 실내모형 실험을 실시하였다. 본 실내모형 실험에서 고려한 실험조건은 스크루 각도, 스크루 피치간격 및 스크루 회전수 등이며, 조건별 시험결과인 단위시간당 버력량을 비교 분석 하여 버력처리시스템이 최적의 성능을 발휘 할 수 있는 조건을 제시하였다. 최종적으로, 본 실험결과로부터 버력이 역류하지 않는 최적의 스크루 각도, 스크루 회전수 그리고 스크루 간격 조건을 도출할 수 있었다. The screw conveyor system installed in EPB Shield TBM chamber was manufactured in small scale for pilot test to investigate the tunnel muck hauling system that could control the earth pressure and support face thrust force. In this experimental study, there were three different test conditions that include screw angles, screw pitch, and screw RPM. Through analysis on test results based on the muck hauling amount per unit time from screw conveyor, the optimum conditions of screw conveyor were proposed to be efficiently performed by the muck processing system. Finally, this study provided the meaningful results such as optimum screw angle, screw RPM, and screw pitch for anti-reverse flow of muck hauling.

Objective : This study was conducted in order to investigate professional job perception, job stress and job satisfaction in doctors. Method : The authors conducted a survey using a self-administered questionnaire, conducted between August and September,2001. The study subjects were 457 doctors practicing at local clinics in Daegu City. Results : For the professionalism scale, the score for 'sense of calling to field' and 'feeling of autonomy' were relatively high, Age, working hours per day, and perception of socioeconomic status significantly influenced the professionalism scale scores (p<0.01). For the job stress scale, the scores for 'clinical responsibility/decision' factor were the highest of all the surveyed factors. Working hours per day significantly influenced the job stress scores (p<0.01). To investigate the overall relationship between the variables, the authors conducted a linear structural equation model analysis. The equation was statistically appropriate and a good fit. The job stress, and the professionalism factors, respectively influenced job satisfaction negatively and positively (T>2.0). The working hours per day and status perception also influenced their job satisfaction (T>2.0). Conclusion : To promote the iob satisfaction of doctors, the development of coping tools and other intervention methods are needed to increase doctor's professional job perception and reduce their job stress. Further studies are required to understand the characteristics of job satisfaction and for its promotion with doctors.

Objectives : This study was conducted in order to investigate the professionalism, job stress and job satisfaction in western and oriental doctors in Korea. Methods : The authors conducted a survey using a self-administered questionnaire, conducted between August and September, 2001. The study subjects were 457 western doctors and 161 oriental doctors practicing at local clinics in Daegu City. Results : For the professionalism scale, the score for belief in service to the public of western doctors was significantly higher than that of oriental doctors (p<0.05) whereas the scores for sense of calling to the field and feeling of autonomy were higher in oriental doctors (p<0.01). For the job stress scale, the scores for work factor, and clinical responsibility/decision factor of western doctors were significantly higher than those of oriental doctors (p<0.01). Of the western doctors, 59.7% expressed satisfaction with their job as a doctor, 69.5% responded that the role of a doctor was appropriate to their aptitude, and 61.8% answered that they wouldn't consider other kinds of job even if offered. In case of oriental doctors, these responses were 83.1%, 82.5%, and 82.3%, respectively. Conclusions : The job stress scores of western doctors were higher than those of oriental doctors, but the job satisfaction was lower. The reasons for the above results are not clear. Further studies are required to understand the characteristics of job stress and job satisfaction in doctors.

Recently gantry-type robot with 3 axes rectangular coordinates have been studied in the many industrial production equipment and machinery fields. To acquire a good handling and motion performance of this robot, reducing the settling-time and securing the accurate-transfer positioning under high-speed conditions should be required. However when robot is moved in high-speed, the large inertia of robot can lead to serious vibration of robot"s head. The time-delayed control characteristics of this robot can also lead to tracking error. In this research, the analysis of the effects of higher order positional-profile is carried out to assure high-speed performance and stiffness specifications. To remove the residual vibration caused by kinematic coupling effect of dual-servo gantry, we develop a dual-servo gantry of rotary type that moving frame of x-axis rotates about z-axis. In order to decrease the tracking error, the 3 type lead-filter through system identification was applied respectively. From the experimental results, it was shown that zero-order series leader-filter has the best performance about tracking error and settling time.
