The packing, among the components comprising the gate valve, is used to sustain the air-tightness and the study on change of shape or pattern has been carried out to maximize the functions, but the study on changing the location or the size of the packing in a bid to prevent the freezing has rarely been implemented. Thus, This study is intended to evaluate the thermal strain of packing by heat transfer from territory of extremely low temperature as well as the temperature distribution to the upper part of the packing using numerical analysis method.

The safety of transporting equipment in a cryogenic condition is one of important problems under the circumstances that the application weight of natural gas is gradually increasing. As a larger disaster may be generated by leakage of oil or gas from valves in case of fire occurrence of a ship, the present research applied a numerical analysis method on thermal stress distribution and deformation, etc. to the design of ball valves satisfying fire safety test’s specification(API607) to prevent this. In addition, the present research progressed fire safety tests and compared the test result with numerical analysis results. The Max stress by parts was confirmed through thermal analysis of major parts to evaluate safety. The fire safety test was progressed according to the regulation of API607.
원형 및 사각단면을 가지는 수평캡슐에서의 접촉용해에 관한 실험적 연구

본 연구는 원 및 여러가지 종횡비의 사각단면을 가지는 수평캡슐에서의 접촉용해에서 융해현상의 진행모습, 융해율 및 상부에서의 자연대류의 정성적인 경향을 고찰한 실험적 연구이다.<br/> 본 연구의 결과 Stefan수에 따라서 융해율이 증가하며, 동일한 단면적의 경우 원보다는 사각단면의 경우에 융해율이 크고, 사각단면의 경우에는 종횡비가 작을수록 융해율이 커짐을 알 수 있다. Stefan 수가 각각 0.0772, 0.1287 및 0.1802일 때 원통캡슐의 경우 상부에서 자연대류가 유애율에 미치는 영향은 각각 6.1%, 8.6% 및 11.2%이다. This empirical paper addresses the phenomena of the contact melting of PCM in horizontal capsules of circular and rectangular cross sections with various aspect ratio.<br/> The melting-rate tends to increase as the Stefan number increases. The case of rectangular tube displays larger melting-rate than that of circular tube, and the melting-rate increases as the aspect ratio decreasws for rectangular tubes. In case of circular tube, the effect of natural convection on the melting-rate is 6.1 % .8.6 % and 11.2 % according to Stefan number 0.0772. 0.1287 and 0.1802 respectively.<br/>

Check valves are widely used within the industry to prevent back flow and by doing so protect sensitive components such as pumps or prevent inadvertent draining of tanks. A check valve is a passive component that admits flow in one direction only. An ideal check valve will close exactly when the flow is reversed. However in reality some back flow often occurs and when the valve closes completely a pressure surge or water hammer will result. This pressure surge or water hammer will affect the piping system both through unbalanced forces and increased/decreased internal pressure. The size of pressure surge is largely dependent on the amount of back flow through the valve prior to closing. In this study, we tested noise and vibration. And we analyzed a dynamic behavior of air check valve. First the modal frequency and mode shapes are calculated. And we analyzed a transient response and a frequency response.

Various type of valves are manufactured for different industrial uses. Among them, check valves are used to allow fluid to flow in one direction but not in the opposite direction. There are many different types of check valves, but Y-shaped check valves are widely used these days. Not many studies have been carried out on Y-shaped check valves and the flow coefficients obtained through numerical analysis have the problem of low reliability. In order to solve this problem, this study performed flow analysis, flow-structure coupled analysis, and flow coefficient measurement experimentally, and through these analyses derived and verified the flow coefficients and assessed the structural safety based on numerical analysis.
주름 각도와 피치에 따른 판형 열교환기 전열특성에 관한 수치해석 연구

For numerical analysis of the plate heat exchanger, a lot of time are required in modeling work and calculation. Whereas, this paper was purposed to identify characteristic of the plate heat exchanger through simplification of modeling by interpreting the numerical analysis proximity with the actual model. This study was also examined temperature difference between inlet side and outlet side, inner pressure drop, heat transfer area of plate and change of heat transfer coefficient on the plate depending on the inner corrugation angle and corrugation pitch of a herring bon pattern of the plate heat exchanger among chevron types of the plate exchanger.
