설계 과정에서의 빌딩 에너지 시뮬레이션 도구 활용과 개선

Building simulation has enormously developed over the past three decades. Building simulation tools can describe mass and heat transfer phenomena in buildings with high accuracy. However, such tools are not widely and pervasively used in the design firm on daily basis. At most, the tools are being used for code check or green building accreditation, not being iteratively used throughout the whole building design process for better decision making. This paper reports three factors (external, internal, technical) to investigate the aforementioned issue. For this purpose, the authors utilized international literature and domestic surveys. The external factor includes tight schedule, limited budget and cost, overloaded and ill-informed staff, and lack of education and proper training. The internal factor includes differences in knowledge and praxis between designers and simulationists. The technical factor includes steep learning curves and user-unfriendly interface of simulation tools, language barrier in program manual, lack of modeling information and library suited for domestic circumstances. Finally, in the paper, it is elaborated what should be done for better use of building simulation tools in the design process.
량강도 출신 북한이탈주민의 북한 사회 불평등 인식과 거주 단위의 상관성 분석을 위한 예비연구

이 글의 연구 목적은 량강도 출신 북한이탈주민 직통생의 불평등 인식이 북한 내 거주 단위의 특성에 따라 어떠한 차이를 보이는지 살펴보는 것이다. 분석을 위해 북한이탈주민 직통생 115명을 분석대상으로 설정하고, 합성 불평등 인식 점수를 종속변수로, 거주 지역 단위를 독립변수로 하는 연구를 설계하였다. 이후 연구 참여에 동의한 71인의 응답 결과에 대한 전‧후처리 과정을 거쳐 확보한 40개의 데이터를 바탕으로 독립표본 t검정 및 변수 사이 상호작용효과 검증을 위한 단계별 더미 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 거주 지역이 도심 번화가에 가까운 ‘동과 읍’에 거주하는 응답자가 비 도심 혹은 시골이라 할 수 있는 ‘리와 구’에 거주하는 응답자에 비하여 불평등 인식 점수가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 북한 량강도 지역 내 직업군과 같은 전통적 계층 요인의 영향력이 감소되고 있으며, 성별에 따른 젠더 위계화 현상은 장마당의 영역에서도 작동하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 시장화로 인한 북한 사회의 변화가 자본주의적 사회 현상을 유발할 수 있다는 점과, 기존 북한 사회의 특수한 구조에서 배태된 현상에도 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 보여준다. The purpose of this article is to examine how North Korean defectors from Ryanggang Province perception of inequality differs according to the characteristics of their residential areas in North Korea. For this study, 115 direct North Korean defectors were set as targets for analysis, and a Independent-Samples T-test were conducted using the recovered questionnaire of 40 people. As a result of the analysis, it was found that respondents living in ‘dong and eup’ where the residential area is close to the city and downtown had higher inequality perception scores than those living in ‘ri-gu’, which can be called surrounding areas or rural areas. These results suggest that changes in North Korean society are affecting the urban-rural gap and the gap between the rich and the poor between urban residents.

In the area of building simulation, modeling of occupants can be classified into three ways, (1) a deterministic approach, (2) a stochastic approach, and (3) a cognitive approach. The deterministic approach is most widely applied where occupants are modeled with a fixed schedule only. The probabilistic approach employs a statistical method to predict human behavior. The aforementioned two approaches regard the humans as static objects. To overcome this, a new modeling approach, so-called an agent-based simulation approach, is demonstrated in this work. By adopting the cognitive approach for agent-based simulation, occupants are modeled as agents who interact with their environments and other agents interactively. This study illustrates the difference between the cognitive approach and the deterministic approach, and benefits from agent-based simulation.

Interior blinds systems have been introduced to provide visual and thermal comfort as well as to reduce energy use in buildings. A wide variety of such systems exist in terms of thermal and optical properties, location(exterior, interior), physical configuration(size, distance) of the blind slats. The current problem with blinds is that their operation is not based on the dynamics of the room(space) but based on the static or manual control operated by occupants, although many studies recognized that dynamic control far outperforms static control. One of the reasons is that it is not easy to combine the room dynamics with any possible optimization algorithm. Hence, In this study, A whole building simulation program EnergyPlus and MATLAB optimization toolbox were integrated to solve for optimal control of interior blind systems. the paper addresses difference between static vs. dynamic control of interior blind systems in office buildings.
