The purpose of this study is to investigate the dynamic changes of the commuting patterns in Seoul Metropolitan Region for the period of 1980-1995. Various analyses applied to this study reveal that the commuting distance and the volume of cross as well as reverse commuting between Seoul and its periphery have been considerably increased during the period. These findings imply that the spatial seperation and/or the mismatch between job place and residence has been aggravated, which, in other words, raises the problem of inefficient spatial structure in the Region. Therefore, it is recommended to develop proper growth control or management strategies for the inducement of more balanced and efficient spatial growth of Seoul Metropolitan Region.
한 도시 사업체 에너지 수급의 최적화 방안 연구 - 대기오염지수와 경제성 평가를 중심으로 -

The purpose of this study is to seek AEI(Air Environmental Indices), PSI(Pollutant Standard Index) and the urban air quality control goal(the best available alternative energy program) by assessing the best ratio of energy types used in urban enterprises, based on harmful health effect and air quality standard and costs. This study is focused on an urban area(Puchun), where area sources are associated with heavy traffic, large population, and its industrial sources with large emissions. In the first step, air modeling, estimation of AEI and PSI, and benefit-cost analysis were carried out. In the second step, we assessed that 660 scenarios about the ratio of B-C oil, light oil and LNG used in urban enterprises with regard to air quality and cost. In the third step, the best available alternative energy program was selected for the ratio of energy species(B-C oil, light oil and LNG) by using the lexicographic method. From the emission analysis, main source of NO₂ is identified as industries and air quality is evaluated according to the ratio of B-C oil, light oil and LNG used in urban enterprise. The modeling data of TSP, SO₂, NO₂, CO, O₃, by ISC3 and PBM are respectively 118㎍/㎥, 0.027ppm, 0.025ppm, 2.0ppm, 0.55ppm in industrial area. That data are close to Environmental Air Quality Standard. By means of sensitivity analysis, we obtained the difference In concentration between the areas(Nae-dong, Joong-dong) according to the ratio of B-C oil, light oil and LNG used in the industries. From the result of alternatives assessment the lowest AEI value and cost, the ratio of B-C oil, light oil and LNG are 2.5%, 20%, 77.5%, respectively.

Robust design aims to achieve the design performance insensitive to the variability of environments. In the present study, a method of multi-objective robust optimization is proposed to account for the tolerance of design variable and the variation in problem parameter (i.e., noise factor). The robust design is initiated from a deterministic optimal design obtained from NSGA-II. The step size and search direction for the successive robust design process are determined based on the worst design that has the highest level in constraint violation. During the selection of worst design, orthogonal array is employed to reduce the constraint function evaluations in the context of design of experiments. The S/N ratio is used as a worst design selection criterion. A mathematical function problem is first conducted to deal with the tolerance of design variable. A ten-bar truss problem described by ten design variables and two noise factors are then explored to accommodate both tolerance of design variables and variation in problem parameters.

The electric wedge brake (EWB) is an electro-mechanical brake actuator that shows promise for application in future brake by wire systems. Due to the system properties it has special pedal system that supplies proper pedal feel in terms of user actuating forces. The Pedal feel generally considers critical issues which cause various user complaints with respect to car manufacturing company. However, realizing proper pedal feel is fussy task according to the increasing system complexity. In this study, an optimal design approach was applied to the design of the pedal simulator to adapt target pedal feel proposed mass-produced car. More specifically, 3-step design concept with try and error fixing mechanism was used to find a proper solution that meets the goals of target data set. For the target system, the objective functions were defined as pedal effort and pedal force ratio which obtained the mounted sensors.
WWW상에서의 지리 정보 데이타베이스를 위한 사용자 인터페이스 설계및 구현

최근 교통 정보, 식당 및 공연 정보, 관광지 정보 등의 지리 정보를 통신망을 통해 시범적으로 제공하는 경우가 증가하고 있다. 이러한 정보는 문자 정보와 영상 정보로 이루어지며, 검색에 마우스 입력이 필요하지만 그 방법이 정형화되어 있지 않다는 특징을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 WWW를 기반으로 지리 정보 서비스 등의 비정형 인터페이스를 구축하는 방법과 이를 검증하기 위해 시범적으로 구현된 주행 경로 안내 인터페이스에 대해 기술한다. 제안된 방법은 자바를 사용하여 사용자 인터페이스를 구축하고, CGI를 통해 서버 인터페이스를 구현하도록 한다. 이 방법은 웹 브라우저라는 보편적인 인터페이스를 통해 지리 정보를 제공할 수 있도록 한다.
