Acrylamide Photopolymer의 제작 및 홀로그램 기록 특성

Acrylamide의 광중합(photopolymerization)반응에 의해 형성되는 acrylamide photopolymer를 제작하고 홀로그램 형성과정을 설명하였다. MB(methylene blue) 색소에 의한 빛의 흡수 및 표백과정과 TEA(triethanolamine)에 의해 라디칼중합을 하는 acrylamide 중합과정에 대해 자세히 논하였다. Beer-Lambert의 광화학 표백 모델(photochemical bleaching model)을 이용하여, photopolymer의 흡수곁수와 표백률상수(bleaching rate constant)를 구하였다. 그리고 acrylamide photopolymer의 홀로그램 특성에 기여하는 홑몸체(monomer)의 양과 회절효율과의 관계 및 노출량에 따른 회절효율을 측정하였다. 고분자 결정(polymer crystal)의 grain에 의한 산란효과와 정착(fixing)방법에 대해서도 논하였다. We fabricated acrylamie photopolymer holographic recording materials by photopolymerization of acrylamide, and described hologram formation process. Light absorption and phtobleaching process by MB(methylene blue) dye and radical polymerization process due to TEA(triethanolamind) are explained in detail. We adopted the Beer-lambert law in order to explain the photobleaching kinetics. Dependencies of diffraction efficiency of the hologram on monomer amout and the exposure are investigated. The scattering effect caused by grain of polymer crystal, and fixing method are also illustrated.
자체회절 진동에 의한 포토폴리머 홀로그램의 격자 위상측정

Acrylamide를 홑몸체로 하는 포토폴리머에서 두광파혼합(two-wave energy coupling)실험을 하였다. 외부의 전기장이나 비선형 매질의 이동, 또는 두 입사파 중 광파의 위상이동 없이 자체회절 진동(self-diffraction oscillations)로 측정되었다. 이러한 현상을 설명하기 위하여 위상격자와 흡수격자가 혼합된 격자(mixed grating)와 두 광파의 에너지 결합동안에 형성되는 강도 간섭무늬에 대해 공간 위상 이동(nonlocal response)이 있는 경우를 가정하여, 수정된 Kogelnik의 결합파동 방정식을 유도하였다. 측정된 자체회절 진동을 통하여 포토폴리머의 위상격자(phase grating)는 강도격자(intensity grating)에 대해$\pm$50。의 위상 이동이 있음을 알았다. Methylene blue-sensitized photopolymerizable material based on acrylamide is investigated with two-wave energy coupling experiments. Differently from other studies, self-diffraction oscillations are observed and the grating phase is determined without applying external electric fields, moving nonlinear materials, and phase shifting one of two writing beams. The phase grating showed a phase shift of $\pm$50$^{\circ}$ with respect to the intensity grating. Modified Kogelnik's coupled wave equation considering the mixed gratings of phase and absorption gratings and nonzero spatial phase shifts of the gratings with respect to the intensity interference patterns formed during the two-wave energy coupling is discussed in detail to understand these phenomenon.
포토폴리머-액정 혼합매질의 전기광학 및 홀로그램 기록 특성

We studied on the electro-optic properties of the photopolymer-liquid crystal composite(polymer-dispersed liquid crystal: PDLC), which has a large refractive index modulation and is controlled by applied AC electric field. The hologram formation kinetics of the HPDLC and also investigated by changing various physical parameters: liquid crystal concentration, grating spacings, and applied fields.

We fabricate acrylamide photopolymer films as a holographic recording material and investigate photobleaching characteristics. To explain the photobleaching kinetics of photopolymer we adapt two models of the Beer-Lambert law and optical transmittance based on rate equations obtained from a simplified energy-band model. The Beer-Lambert law is good agreement with experimental results in short time but not in long time region. For optical transmittance model on based rate equations the theoretical model explains very well the experimental results in both short and long time region.
Spot Size Detection Method를 위한 Computer Generated Interferogram

A simple method to fabricate computer generated interferogram is presented by using personal computer and Laser Printer. We also fabricate a CGH for a spot size detection method and generate a focusing error signals.

We designed and fabricated a reflection-type holographic interference filter in a dichromated gelatin film. The relationship between center wavelength and recording angles was derived by wsing coupled wave theory in detail. The variations of center wavelength of the filter were predicted theoretically measured in terms of recording angles.

We derived an expression of space charge field in photorefractive moving gratings from the standard photorefractive material equations and measured the damped oscillation signals by two beam coupling experiment. The expression showed good agreement with theoretical result.

Holograghic PDLC의 제작 및 홀로그램의 전기광학 특성

We have fabricated PDLC and Holographic PDLC films by using PIPS method and measured an optical transmittance of PDLC and a real time diffraction efficiency of HPDLC wite applied electric fields. It is shown that the holographic gratings are switchable by turning on and off of applied fields.
위상형 CGH(computer generated hologram)를 이용한 비구면 파면 및 Bessel beam 제작

We have designed and fabricated computer generated holograms(CGH) to generate ashepheric wavefront and Bessel beam. Designed CGH is recorded onto the photopolymer which is used as a volume hologram material mating CGHOE(computer generated holographic optical element). To investigate properties of fabricated CGHOE, intensities of Bessel beam are measured as a function of propagation(z-axis) and transverse (x-axis) distances.
