The metal-working industry is increasingly interested in synthetic metal-working fluids and coolants. Also, an environmental aspect of the treatment of used fluid is important. The excellent lubricating properties of PEG based ester have been recognized in the area such as hydraulic fluids and compressor lubricants. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the drilling properties of PEG based ester synthesized from PEG and several diacid against aluminums and copper by drilling machine. From the study, it was shown that there were some differences in the drilling properties depend on the structures of the PEG based ester.

To resolve environmental problem of waste tire and asbestos and also to capitalize the wastes, we developed a new kind of friction material using scrap tire, potassium hexatitanate, filler, and friction modifier in which rubber made a continuous phase. The material containing 5, 20, 10, 20phr of potassium hexatitanate, phenol, friction modifier, BaSO₄, respectively showed good friction properties, high and stable coefficient of friction, and low wear rate.
