The rate of wearing glasses in 248 young Korean people of 20 to 30 years of age were investigated. The study had findings such as below: 1. The rate of wearing glasses was (73.8%). 2. The rate of first time glass wear occurred mostly in 14-16 age group (31.7%). 3. The duration of glasses change rate was of 6 month to 1 year of wear (40.4%). 4. The glasses purchase price was between 50,000 to 60,000 won (37.1%). 5. Choice to purchase the glasses was made mostly by oneself (85.8%). 6. The factors subjects considered in making the choice of purchase was face types and hairstyle (56.3%). 7. The subjects'satisfaction level of eyesight examination in optical stores was 51.5%. 20세에서 30세 사이의 청년 248명을 총 대상자로 하여 안경 착용률 조사하고 이중 183명의 안경착용 실태를 연 구한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 안경 착용률은 73.8%이었다. 2. 처음 안경 착용 시기는 14세-16세가 31.7 %로 가장 많았다. 3. 안경교체주기는 6개월-1년이 39.8%로 가장 많았다. 4. 안경 구매가격은 5-6만원이 37.1%로 가 장 많았다. 5. 안경 구매 시 선택은 본인이 85.8%로 가장 많았다. 6. 안경 구매 시 가장 고려하는 사항은 헤어스타 일 및 얼굴과 어울리는 안경이 56.3%로 가장 많았다. 7. 안경원에서의 시력검사 만족도는 만족한다가 51.5%로 가 장 많았다.

Objectives: It is measure the abnormal refraction eyes in the middle and high school students, so that their parents and school teacher pay more attention to their visual acuity. Methods: The analysis for abnormal refraction eyes in the middle and high school students was carried out on th basis of the refractive error measurement. Results: 1. Refractive diagnosis was composed of myopia(39.5%), hyperopia(3%), astigmatism(57.5%), normal(1%). 2. The amouts of refractive error in myopia were 0.25≤D≤3.00 (83.54%), 3.25≤D≤6.00 (16.46%), D≤6.25 (0%). 3. The astigmatism was classified by With-the-rule (78.26%), Against-the-rule (14.78%), Oblique (6.96%). 4. Cylindrical power of the astigmatism were 0.25≤D≤1.00 (67.83%), 1.25≤D≤2.00 (21.74%), 2.25≤D≤3.00 (10.43%). 5. Rate of the Spherical Equivalent was 0.25≤D≤3.00 (72.73%), 3.25≤D≤6.00 (24.24%), D≥6.25 (3.3%), respectively. Conclusions: Weakly Astigmatism were investigated the hightst rate(67.83%) in the abnormal refraction eyes.
