The stationary objects around us are sometimes regarded as moving objects by our cognitive system even though they don`t have real motion. This is called Fictive Motion. In Motion Event theory, it displays different aspects in structure from Factive Motion which has real motion. In this paper, after surveying some constraints for Fictive Motion in English and in Korean, selected examples will be cross-checked with each other`s constraints. In addition to Fictive Motion that has been about tangible objects, the aspects about intangible objects such as ``The price goes up``, which have not been paid attention to a lot so far, are discussed as a type of Fictive motion. After the constraints that have appeared so far in studies on Fictive motion for tangible objects, outlined here, are applied to the new type of Fictive motion for intangible objects, the differences and the common features of the groups in English and in Korean will be investigated. 하모닉 드라이브의 토크리플 감소를 위한 조인트 토크센서용 스위칭 노치필터

로봇 머니퓰레이터의 정밀한 제어를 위하여 하모닉 드라이브와 조인트 토크센서가 널리 사용되고 있다. 하모닉 드라이브는 구조적 특징으로 인하여 토크리플을 발생시키는데, 토크센서와 하모닉 드라이브가 직결된 경우에 토크리플은 토크센서에 전달되어 토크센서를 사용하는 제어기나 관측기의 성능을 저해한다. 본 논문에서는 토크리플과 하모닉 드라이브 속도의 관계를 도출하고, 이를 토대로 토크리플을 효과적으로 감쇄시키는 스위칭 노치필터를 제안한다. 제안된 스위칭 노치필터는 기존에 제시되었던 이론에 비하여 직관적이고, 추가적인 회로부나 기구부 구성이 필요 없으며, 연산량이 적은 장점이 있다. 또한 다양한 실험을 통하여 스위칭 노치필터의 필터링 성능, 빠른 응답속도와 스위칭 안정성을 검증하였다. Harmonic drives have been widely used in combination with joint torque sensors in order to facilitate accurate manipulator control. A harmonic drive causes a torque ripple because of its structural characteristics, and this torque ripple tends to deteriorate the performance of a controller or observer that uses torque sensors. This paper proposes a switching notch filter for reducing the torque ripple caused by a harmonic drive in a joint torque sensor; the functioning of this filter is based on the relationship between the frequency components of the torque ripple and the rotational velocity of the harmonic drive. The proposed switching notch filter is advantageous in that it requires less computational load and does not necessitate additional circuits or structures. Various experiments demonstrate that the proposed filter has good filtering performance, fast response, and good switching stability.

The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of the complex semantic structure of English verbs to compare them to those of the Korean language. When we look into the structure of an English verb, even though it has a single simplex appearance, we get to know that its internal semantic structure has both a vertical frame and a horizontal frame. The vertical frame shows that the semantic structure of an English verb is composed of the feature elements which turn up at the same time. Also, the horizontal frame reveals that an English verb has the structure with the concept of a time passing in it. On the other hand, a Korean verb doesn``t have these frames and the semantic features of a Korean verb appear in the utterance with a division into a few single verbs. Through these evidences, we can know that, in their meanings, an English verb has a semantically segmental structure, while a Korean verb has a morphologically segmental structure.

Fictive motion can be divided into three classes such as fictive motion without motion verbs, fictive motion with motion verbs for tangible objects and fictive motion with motion verbs for intangible objects. The purpose of this study is to look into the conceptualization processes of these three categories and to find out what components each cognitive stage of the structures of these three types of fictive motion consists of. In conclusion, it will be proved that fictive motion is not composed of the simplex structure but composed of the complex processes with the cognitive flow similar to the flow from biological cognition through psychological cognition to linguistic cognition in the real world.

Background : Cardiovascular MR has recently been reported that it can determine the viable myocardium. We investigated this study to determine the usefulness of cardiovascular MR in prediction of wall motion recovery after revascularization in acute myocardial infarction Methods : Both cardiovascular MR with contrast enhancement and coronary angiogram were performed in 19 patients with acute myocardial infarction who treated with precutaneous intervention or thrombolytic therapy. Six months follow-up angiogram and MR study were also preformed. Thirty two matched segments model of the left ventricle were used to analysis the wall motion change and the grade of transmural extent of hyperenhancement (TEI). Results : Among 628 segments, 177 segments showed wall motion abnormality. In group of segments showing hypokinesia (68 segments), the proportion of segments showing wall motion improvement was not different from that of the akinetic segments group (109 segments) (50% vs 41.3%, p=0.26). The proportion of segments showing wall motion improvement were 60.5% in group of TEI grade 0, 58.9% in TEI grade I, 51.2% in TEI grade III, 29.4% in TEI grade IV, 8% in TEI grade V. If the groups were divided into two according to cut-off value of TEI 50%, In the group of TEI less than 50%, 67 out of 118 segments (56.8%) showed wall motion improvement in contrast with 12 out of 59 segments (20.3%) in the group of TEI above 50% (p<0.001). The status of baseline wall motion abnormality (hypokinesia or akinesia) did not effect on wall motion improvement after revascularization. Conclusions : The baseline wall motion abnormality (hypokinesia or akinesia) did not predict the wall motion improvement. But, TEI grade was significant factor to predict the wall motion improvement.(Korean J Med 69:364-370, 2005)
연성 해석 방법을 이용한 잉크젯 헤드의 액적 생성 해석

This paper reports a comparison study between the practical experiments and simulations on droplet formation of an OLED ink form an ink-jet head. The ink-jet head is driven by a waveform signal of voltage and time in a squeeze mode. ANSYS is used to analyze piezoelectric actuation and CFX is used for a computational analysis in the fluid region. In simulation of droplet formation, we used an unsteady two-phase three dimensional Navier-Stokes equation for fluid analysis and a fluid-structure interaction (FSI) method for numerical analysis. It is confirmed that the computational results are well coincident with those obtained from jetting experiment. Also, the simulated results show that a meniscus shape is oscillated around a nozzle after droplet ejection.

A robot manipulator sharing its workspace with humans must be designed in consideration of human safety. Safety can be achieved by either a passive or active compliance system. With an active system. it is possible to react against the collision in a more sensitive manner. We propose the collision detection algorithm with current information using a fault detection and isolation scheme. This algorithm needs friction compensation when the inertial factor of the system is smaller than the usual one. Experiments were conducted using a one-link manipulator. The experimental results show that the proposed system can detect collision while a manipulator is moving even under the acceleration. which can improve collision safety.
