In this paper, the power spectral analysis and the fractal analysis of heart rate variability(HRV) were performed to evaluate the effects of brain lesion on cardiovascular system and autonomic function for 24 normal subjects and 22 hemiplegic patients. The ECG and respiration signals were recorded at tilt angles of $0^{\circ}$ and $70^{\circ}$ for 5 and 6 minutes successively under the condition of frequency controlled respiration (0.25Hz). For normal subjects, HR, LF component, HF component and fractral dimension of HRV were distinctly changed after orthostatic stress, whereas, for hemiplegic patients, those were little changed. Complexity and variability of heart rate of patients were smaller than those of normal subjects. Sympathetic tone of patients was higher than that in normal subjects. All of these results support that autonomic disorder and cardiovascular disturbance accompanied by brain lesion could be assessed by the power spectral analysis and fractal analysis of HRV.

This paper describes a software algorithm for automatic diagnosis of arrhythmia using the criteria of Minnesota code manual. This algorithm provides more accurate and more objective information to medical doctor by standardizing the criteria of diagnosis of arrhythmia. Because this algorithm doesn't need complicated mathematic processing, it carries out the real-time automatic diagnosis that is very important in clinic. The Decision-Table technology suggests the proper results for the given conditions. So it can express clearly the complicated medical problems those are not solved by the mathematical methods. The Decision-Tables have very simple structure. Therefore, it is very easy to correct or expand the system by adding or correcting some rules.
Susceptance를 이용한 피부수화도 측정 장비의 개발 및 평가

In this paper, a novel system is proposed to measure skin hydration using the susceptance method. This system largely consists of a low-voltage(${\pm}2.6$ V) driven circuit and minimized electrodes of size($5{\times}5mm^2$). To evaluate the accuracy of the novel system in measuring skin hydration, skin hydration values from 105 subjects are measured by the proposed system. The measurements are then compared to those obtained by the golden reference device based on the capacitance method in terms of Intraclass Correlation Coefficient(ICC) and correlation coefficient. All measurements are performed on 7 sites, which are forehead, Crow's foot, cheek, chin, volar forearm, dorsal forearm, and back of the hand, in a room where the temperature and humidity are maintained at an uniform level of $22{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ and $50{\pm}5%$, respectively. ICC values are above 0.9(p=0.001), signifying that the skin hydration values measured by the two methods show a good level of reliability. Correlation coefficient between the two methods is also 0.562(p=0.001). Based on these results, it is expected that the proposed system may be applicable in a variety of clinical or cosmetic areas.
