영남 유학의 현대적 조명 : 퇴계 교학의 구성체계 연구

Toegye`s Kyo-Hak(敎學) was fundamentally based on the understanding of human being. And Kyo-Hak is not a goal but an instrument. Therefore, Toegye`s Hyo-Hakwas a means for the understanding of human being. Also, his Kyo-Ha` should have a synthetic character and a divided character at the same time. As a general viewpoint, Kyo-Hakwas inclined to Kyo(teaching). Therefore, we try to understood that Kyo-Hais teaching or educating. But this study will clarify the spirits of Toegye`s Kyo-Hak on the basic of the principle of Ye-Ki(禮記)and Confucius. And then, Kyo and Hak were aimed at humanity through the interaction of both. Toegye`s Kyo-Ha was related with self-culture and arrangement to others(修己治人) and Ji-Haeng(知行: chih-hsing; knowledge-practice), learning-thinking(學思) etc. I studied that the structure of Toegye`s Kyo-Hakwas not only divided into Kyoand Hakbut also correlative to each other closely. This study approached the faith of Toegye`s Kyo-Hakat the sides of the faith of man`s substance, the realization of social community, the harmony of ideal and reality. I divided the composition system of Kyo-Hakin two, inner-outer composition forms so as to understand more effectively its composition forms. Its inner composition form categorized Lib-Ji(立志: determination to a success in life), Reading(讀書), cogitation(思索), and its outer composition form a lecture(講學), a letter(書簡), libon(立言: authorship). But these composition forms were related to each other in interacting closely and established Toegye`s Kyo-Ha. The distinctive features of Toegye`s Kyo-Hakare as follows: First, from the establishment of man`s subject, his Kyo-Hakhave been realized. Toegye`s Kyo-Hasucceded to Confucian spirits sincerely and thoroughly. Second, it was realized man`s doing through the correspondance of Kyoand Hak. Therefore Confucianism admitted the spirits of Kyoand Hapositively at same time to aim at humanity of Kyo-Hak. Through this study, we made out that Toegye practiced Kyo-Hakas a full life by the devotion to teaching and learning. Under the humanity`s loss and the situation of educational crisis at present, we verified the roles of Toegye`s Kyo-Ha. His practical cattariage that he was devoted to teach and learn gave us an important model of today`s education.
