There still remained disorder, insanitation, vulnerableness of fire and unreasonable transactions at Youngsun Market in Daegu City. The distribution section in Korea indicates two aspects. One is to break from premoderization the other is to follow old habit. At this transitional stage, we have to employ a policy prudently and also need some research. At this juncture, to active Youngsun Market, it might be considered as follows: 1) The products by floor should be displayed based on consumer buying habit and the buildings should have some particular attraction enough to induce consumer. 2) The bulletin board which shows a category of business, official announcement etc. has to be established near a main traffic road an entrance. 3) Youngsun Market needs public facilities for the increase of consumption knowledge and enlightenment. 4) Open-air stalls, cheap salonns and restaurants should be located in a given area for environmental purification of market. 5) The establishment of organization like Quality Inspection Committe and Price Assessment Committe is needed to control the quality and price of selling goods in Youngsun Market. 6) The risk of fire is so serious that self fire fighting organization has to be established. 7) Large supermarket in 3 houses has an impact on other transaction and expedites the improvement of management in Youngsun market. It might be considered that the selling goods of market be different from those of small store secure the profit of small store. Also the guidance of management and the training of seller are needed.

There still remain disorder, insanitation, danger of a fire and illogical commerical transaction at Chilsung market in Daegu city. It is urgely demanded that Chilsung market should be modernized to keep step with the modernization of all phases of city life. In recent two or three years, there are modernization movements like construction of the modern market building at Chilsung market. But we must fully examine characters of the market, sales methods of the existing merchant and kinds of customers going and coming before the removal of the existing market, and then take the basic course of management of market building and arrange goods properly by the floors according to the basic courses. We must arrange each floor goods according to the customer's purchasing custom of each goods and endow special attractiveness to absorb customer to the building; We must make layout plan of the market before construction of building, then design the building and arrange the market according to layout plan after construction of building. In conclusion, there are lots of probloms to be studied in the modernization work of Chilsung market.

Seomun market in Daegu city has not been threatened its position up to now but as a matter of fact Seomun market is losing its customer in the parts of textiles, clothes, household furnishings and processed foods and so on because of the appearance of the new organization-Department Store, Super-market and Arcade. But Seomum market still remain in its powerful position because of unchanged buying pattern of customer, buying habit of customer and income level. The distribution organizations in Korea have both the phase of recovering promodernity and the phase of following the old order. It is necessary that we should be prudent to the policy to be taken and it needs to be studied in this transitional period. In this point, Seomun Market should be like the followings. 1) We must arrange each floor goods according to costumer's purchasing custom of each goods and give special attractiveness to absorb customer to the building. 2) Street vendors at Seomun market should be put in good order. 3) We should develop Seomun market which is divided completely into wholsale and retail functions. 4) It is essential that physical distribution facilities-trnasportation, loading and unloading and storage-should be equipped. 5) When transaction is done in large quantities, physical distribution activity should be carried out at physical distribution base and goods distribution function should be carried out only or it must be limited to wholesale transaction in small quantities. 6) Seomum market can be developed to a modern retail market like shopping center. 7) Bulletin board of public information and guide map should be equipped at important places, main passages and near the entrance. 8) Parking lots should be established to enjoy shopping for the consumer and standing night market should be opened at particular place. 9) The quality and price of the selling goods must be controled and the committee of quality inspection and the committe of price assessment is needed to do it. 10) It is necessary that large cafeteria and large restaurant should be opened for the merchants and customers of Seomum market. 11) It is necessary to strength the training of needed personnel-the executive mumbers of market welfare association, store owner and salesman of Seomun market.

Korea`s current population explosion is viewed as a serious problem to the continued stability of the national economy. Expecially unsettling is the ever increasing gap between food production and consumption requirements. Although the problem of population growth is not unique to Korea, it is one that has assumed the role of a dominant universal challenge, and as a historical mission requiring solution in our time. If the present annual birth rate continues at the acknowledged rate of 2.88%, the population of Korea shall have reached 30 million by 1967. Ten years later it will surpass 40 million, and by 1985 the population will have zoomed to 50 miller souls. It is a truism that Korea`s present per capita income is a mere $ 78.00 (as compared to $ 3,221 of the US). If the national economy is not realistically adjested to meet the anticipated 50 million population of 1985, the lot of the masses will reflect even greater deprivations. In other words, if rapid population growth is not accompanied by a per capita income escalation, the annual average($78.00) buying power of today will have to be spread proportionately among 50 million wage earners. This would result in an unacceptable sub-human standard of existence. Even with the present birth rate, Korea`s production would have to be quadrupled in order to double the present per capita income by 1965 with its 50 million people. Even if this four-fold increase is achieved it is not indicative of a compatible economic upswing in the light of the following facts. The Phillipines and Ceylon, although categorized as backward countries, attained a per capita income of $ 152.00 and $ 137.00 respectively by 1958. In contrast, Korea does not forsee the realization of a per capita income goal of $ 158.00 before 1985; twenty years hence. Therefore it is felt that a realistic effore must be made in economic development and increased emphasis in population control. It has become essential for Korea to develop a birth control plan. Such a plan must be given much thought and, when adopted, include cultural and ethical aspects. The plan must take into consideration our noble ideology on new births and also our loved ones who pass away. In conclusion, it is evident that if we are going to resolve this serious problem, a birth control plan must be implementetd. However, such a plan must include a scientific approach, be democratic in spirit, and carry with it a message to the people that it is necessary and vital for their future happiness.
