The two opposed views of evil caused Hawthorne to take the ambiguous attitude on the sin of man. It is supposed that there are the two main views of the sin of man which influence Hawthorne. One is the Puritanism and the other is the Romanticism. Before everything else the Puritanism must have made a great influence upon the Hamthorne's idea, for he was sprung from the puritan family of New England. Hilda in the Marble Faun is an intolerably pallid puritan. As for her sin is only harmful, while the idea of the Romanticism consider the sin of man to be able to be salutary to man. For example, although Donatello in the Marble Faun was indulged in sin, he acquired the development of his charcater. Hawthorne's dilemma between two different views of the sin of man could not make a clean attitude to the salutariness on the sin, and to be conclude, it was proper of him not to be one-sided, since such a dilemma is very realistic in the human world.

The sense of order of the Elizabeth Ages was rooted In the sense of order of the Middle Ages. The university of the Middle Ages was that of an ordered world arranged in a fixed system of hierarchies. It also was refered to the nation and the rising and falling of the King. The university of the Middle Ages was boiled down to a chain, a series of corresponding planes, and a dance to music. Great chain Being was the representive idea among the three ideas. The chain was consisted of the plenitude, the continuity, the gradation. The chain stretched from the foot of God's throne to the meanest of inanimate objects. All things should be fixed in its own position. The disorder of the university was provoked in deviating Its own place. A series of corresponding planes ment the relations of the planes: there are the relations of correspondence between the King, among the beasts, the eagle among the birds and rose among the flowers and so on. Shakespeare must have possessed such a sense of order. The sense of order of Middle Ages is often appeared in his many works.

It is supposed that A. R. Ammons has good deal of the mystic tendency. The mystic usually believes in God's ambivalence. God's ambivalence is boiled down to Being(static) and Becoming(motion), Eternity and Time, Transcendence and Immanence, Reality and Appearance, the One and Many, the Unity and Multiplicity. The images of "the One(the Unity) : the Many(the Multiplicity) are frequently turned up in his works. His concern is "the one(the Unity)" makes him to appeare a religious mystic who thinks that God is apart from man whom He transcends, while his concern in "Many(the Multiplicity)" makes us to consider him as a pantheismist who believe that God is in everything. I'm sure of his recognizing both transcendence and immanence of God in the light of his ambiguous attitude to the One : the Many. I am of opinion that he, who accepted the paradox, is understood more easily by mystic approach to his poetry.

T. S. Eliot had a wide-ranging poetic sensibility by incorporating in his poetry not only the best of European culture and American mind but also Indian thought and tradition. He used Indian ideas elaborately in his poems. This study focused on the elements of bhakti yoga depicted in his poem Four Quartets. Bhakti is one of the three major ways to salvation in Hinduism. It refers to the attitude of devotion to God. The bhakta usually devotes himself to a personal God, such as Kṛṣṇa. Eliot introduced this representative personal God Kṛṣṇa in the Four Quartets. Bhakti yoga emphasizes on loving devotion and surrender of the self to the personal God, leading a devotee to inner transformation through grace. Bhakti yoga considers “humility” as an essential tool to seek the love of God. Going through “East Coker ,” one may encounter bhakti yoga’s ideas on humility. “The meditation on the great teacher” who guides a devotee by example is one of the various paths to bhakti. “The meditation on the great teacher” was depicted in “Little Gidding .” “The concentration” on God is also a very important way to approach God. The spiritual condition does not arise spontaneously, so man must take up the practice of concentration. Concentration requires a devotee to abandon egoism and desires. By this practice, the man may gradually make himself fit for the steadfast directing of the spirit of God. The religious idea of concentration was transformed into poetic expression in “Burnt Norton.” In his poem, Eliot has drawn the ideas of bhakti yoga. The use of these ideas confirms Eliot’s assimilation of bhakti yoga. There is no denying the fact that such ideas of bhakti yoga left its marks on the Four Quartets.

A road energy harvester was designed and fabricated to convert mechanical energy from the vehicle load to electrical energy. The road energy harvester is composed of 24 piezoelectric cantilevers and a vehicle load transfer mechanism. Applying a vehicle load transfer mechanism rather than directly installing energy harvesters under roads decreases the area of road construction and allows more energy harvesters to be installed on the side of the road. The power generation amount with respect to the vehicular velocity change was assessed by installing the vehicle load transfer mechanism and the energy harvester in the form of speed bumps and underground. The energy harvester installed in a speed bump form generated power of 7.61 mW at the vehicular velocity of 20 km/h. Also, power generation of the energy harvester installed in the underground form was 63.9 mW at the vehicular velocity of 28 km/h. Although the number of piezoelectric cantilevers was reduced by 1/3 to 24 in comparison to the previous research results with 72 piezoelectric cantilevers, similar power generation characteristic value was obtained within the vehicular velocity of 20 km/h by altering the vehicle load transfer mechanism and cantilever vibration method.
