        Most of agriculture and fishery areas that the sewer was not supplied are the circumstances that water pollution is very serious. In addition to the change of living type and using soil demanding the alternation for the protection of quality, the composit projects improving and serving living environment are carried out in those areas. Among them, the unit sewage plants for agriculture and fishery areas, 264 plants(79.8%) are operated by the method of the Soil Precipitation Trench, and the others were constructed by the methods of the Contact Aeration (15.7%) etc. The result of analysis influent concentration(BOD base) in small wastewater treatment plants was more than 100mg/l, higher than municipal wastewater treatment plants. Also, the result of operating efficiency in small wastewater treatment plant most of organic material removal efficiency was 80∼90%, but nutrient material(nitrogen and phosphorus) removal efficiency was low.

        Batch experiments were carried out to asses the coexistence effect of lead and cadmium ions on the biosorption of copper ions by Chlorella pyrenoidosa immobilized with Ca-alginate. The uptake of copper ions was examined for single and binary solutions at different initial concentrations. The experimental results showed that the biosorption equilibrium was reached within 1 hour and the adsorption capacity of copper increased with increasing initial copper ions concentration in solution. The biosorption capacity of copper was found to be adversely affected by the presence of lead or cadmium ions in the binary solution, although decrease of the biosorption capacity in the presence of cadmium was less than in the presence of lead. The equilibrium data on the single and binary metal biosorption were fitted to two isotherm models: Langmuir and Freundlich; the Langmuir isotherm gave the better fit for the equilibrium data.

        Almost Wastewater treatment plants treated organic compounds without removal nutrients in Korea.But we have to add new plants to the operating and operated plants for advanced treatment.NAP(Nightsoil Application Process) is a advanced treatment that used nightsoil or animal waste for the external carbon sources.It was applicated to low COD/N ratio. This study aims at phosphorus removal characteristics by hydraulic retention time in NAP.T-P removal efficiency was 66.3-79.3% in RUN 1 and 68.3-78.3% in RUN 2.There was no special different changes by hydraulic retention time in this study.

        A research was conducted in order to evalute the treatment method particularly appropriate to these conditions for the small type medium-size hog farms in Korea. The part of research was evaluted the removal efficiencies of organic matters in activated sludge with single stage trckling filter as secondary treament. The following conclusion could be drawn on the basis of experiment. The combined tricking filter/activated sludge(TF/AS) process was operated at the TF hydraulic loading of 0.64 to 1.27 kgBOD/㎥/d and AS organic loading of 0.82 to 1.95 kgBOD/㎥/d. the overall BOD removal efficiencies in the TF/AS process were in the range of 79 to 91%.

      • Solids Contact Process를 이용한 돈사폐수처리에 관한 연구

        Agricultural-related environmental problems have received a considerable attention in this country possibly because the contribution has significant impacts on the quality of water resources. the piggery wastewater is characterized as high in Suspended Solids(SS) and BOD? concentrations. Due to the high SS and BOD? contents, an efficient pretreatment Would be essential for the successful secondary treatment for piggery wastewater. In order to minimize the clogging problem Rice Straw was applied for the pre-treatment as filtration. Trickling filter would be an attractive option for the small to medium scale piggery wastewater treatment because of its low operation and maintenance costs. The trickling filter effluent recycle improved the effluent qualities probably due to the dilution effects. The Kinetic constant that necessary for the trickling filter design were also evaluated. In addition, it was noticed that BOD? test values were influenced by the nitrification effects as a function of wastewater concentrations. The finding leads to a careful examination of nitrification effect on wastewater treatment plant design and operation. The solids contact process was proved as an effective process for the effluent treatment.

        Automated immunohistochemical assessment ability to evaluate estrogen and progesterone receptor status compared with quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction in breast carcinoma patients

        Background: This study aimed to investigate the capability of an automated immunohistochemical (IHC) evaluation of hormonal receptor status in breast cancer patients compared to a well-validated quantitative reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) method. Methods: This study included 93 invasive breast carcinoma cases that had both standard IHC assay and Oncotype Dx assay results. The same paraffin blocks on which Oncotype Dx assay had been performed were selected. Estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) receptor status were evaluated through IHC stains using SP1 monoclonal antibody for ER, and 1E2 monoclonal antibody for PR. All ER and PR immunostained slides were scanned, and invasive tumor areas were marked. Using the Quant-Center image analyzer provided by 3DHISTECH, IHC staining of hormone receptors was measured and converted to histochemical scores (H scores). Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated between Oncotype Dx hormone receptor scores and H scores, and between Oncotype Dx scores and Allred scores. Results: H scores measured by an automated imaging system showed high concordance with RT-qPCR scores. ER concordance was 98.9% (92/93), and PR concordance was 91.4% (85/93). The correlation magnitude between automated H scores and RT-qPCR scores was high and comparable to those of Allred scores (for ER, 0.51 vs. 0.37 [p = .121], for PR, 0.70 vs. 0.72 [p = .39]). Conclusions: Automated H scores showed a high concordance with quantitative mRNA expression levels measured by RT-qPCR.

        Local manufacturing industry became howllow for the moving to the place where has low wages and easy supply raw materials. So we have poor interesting about industrial wastewater and insufficient engineering man power. And Environmental Engineer is interested in construction of sewage plant that give an order from nation than industrial wastewater treatment. Because nation does not support to treat for industrial wastewater. Therefore some manufacturing industry that have poor manpower, techniques and treatment plant discharges industrial wastewater over the permitted limit. I examined processes of manufactures, characteristics of system, and problems and analyzes correlations for the major design factor from the manufacturing industries located in Chung-Buk region. So I presented appliable design factors to go on the same kinds of manufacturing industry in this thesis.

So I studied water quality and flowrates in the River Angsung not involved network. It showes that pH, Suspended Solids, Dissolved Oxygen and BOD were below grade I.

        There are many computer modeling programs for the river and lakes. QUAL2E is the most useful program in the U.S.A. But it does not fit to small rivers in Korea.And the language,Fortran 77, is uncomfprtable for the users. So I've studied it with Visual Basic in the windows system.
