Berlage's importance in the history of the Modern Movements of Architecture lies in his effort to combine several sets of contradictory dual aspects of architectural values. Tradition and modernity are one of the contradictory dual aspects. For Berlage, tradtion and modernity were not tow opposing, but reconciliatory concepts. In this sense, Berlage thought that modernity did not mean a total rejection, but a reinterpretion of tradition. Berlage's concern with his contemporaty architectural situstion was how to revive the stagnant repetion of past styles in Historicism and, at same time, how to prevent an extreme rejection of tradition by the Avant-Gardists. Berlage's architectural belief that neither stagnant imitation of past styles nor extreme revolution can be an ideal model for his era, lies in a traditional art theory of 'style evolution' and the interpertation of Nature's lessons for it. This study is to understand Berlage's concept of 'style evolution' and the meaning of tradition and modernity in the early Modern Movements of Architecture.

This study makes attempts to search decision-making process which has been raised as an important sphere in educational administration. In order to get these aims, the first chapter reviews a significance and concept of decision-making. The second chapter analyses various process of decision-making. The third chapter searches for a model of decision-making process. This study presents conclusions for rational decision-making as follow : 1) Decision-making process is related to the concept of scientific problem-solving process, therefore it should be achieved by elaborate work and examination for stages and methods of decision-making. 2) According as educational administration has become democratized, autonomized and specialized, decision-making in school organization should be make the best of management techniques as management by objectives and system approaches and done by individuals or group of participants. Therefore school organization has to change into democratic system, and its decision-making should be accomplished by group thinking.

This Study attempts to examine closely the principles of educational administration as indications and criteria for the behavior of educational administrators and their activities in the process of educational administration. In this study, the researcher investigated historically the ideology of administration and deliberated the principles of educational administration from other related studies conducted by both domestic and foreign professionals. Consequently, the researcher presents the principles of educational administration as follows:the principle of legality, democracy, validity, efficiency, adaptability, security and balance. In the future, the principles of educational administration will have to be discussed and studied continually accpording as age and situation, because educational administration includes higher mental activities and the administration is in the basis of implementatual activities depending on normative judgement, ethics and criteria.
