        Synergistic Effect of Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells and Platelet-Rich Plasma in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats

        Background: Diabetic wounds are a major clinical challenge, because minor skin wounds can lead to chronic, unhealed ulcers and ultimately result in infection, gangrene, or even amputation. Studies on bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and a series of growth factors have revealed their many benefits for wound healing and regeneration. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) may improve the environment for BMSC development and differentiation. However, whether combined use of BMSCs and PRP may be more effective for accelerating diabetic ulcer healing remains unclear. Objective: We investigated the efficacy of BMSCs and PRP for the repair of refractory wound healing in a diabetic rat model. Methods: Forty-eight rats with diabetes mellitus induced by streptozotocin were divided into four groups: treatment with BMSCs plus PRP, BMSCs alone, PRP alone, phosphate buffered saline. The rate of wound closure was quantified. A histopathological study was conducted regarding wound depth and the skin edge at 7, 14, and 28 days after surgery. Results: Wound healing rates were significantly higher in the BMSC plus PRP group than in the other groups. The immunohistochemistry results showed that the expression of platelet/endothelial cell adhesion molecule 1, proliferating cell nuclear antigen, and transforming growth factor-β1 increased significantly in the BMSC plus PRP group compared to the other treatment groups. On day 7, CD68 expression increased significantly in the wounds of the BMSC plus PRP group, but decreased markedly at day 14 compared to the controls.       • Benefit of Post-mastectomy Radiotherapy of the Supra-/infraclavicular Lymphatic Drainage Area in Breast Cancer Patients

        Background: This study investigated the survival benefit of radiotherapy (RT) of the supra- and infraclavicular lymphatic drainage area in Chinese women with T1-2N1M0 breast cancer receiving mastectomy. Methods: A total of 593 cases were retrospectively reviewed from 1998 to 2007. The relationship between supra- or infraclavicular fossa relapse (SCFR) and post-operative RT at the supra-/infraclavicular lymphatic drainage area was evaluated. Results: The majority of patients (532/593; 89. 8%) received no RT while 61 patients received RT. The median follow-up was 85 months. Among patients without RT, 54 (10. 2%) developed recurrence in the chest wall or ipsilateral SCFR. However, none of the 61 patients who underwent RT demonstrated SCFR. One patient who received RT (1. 6%) experienced recurrence in the chest wall. Univariate analysis revealed that age and molecular subtype (both P < 0. 05) were two prognostic factors related to supraclavicular and infraclavicular fossa relapse-free survival (SFRFS). Multivariate analysis revealed that only Her-2 positive status (P = 0. 011) was an independent predictor of SFRFS. RT had no influence on distant metastasis (P = 0. 328) or overall survival (P = 0. 541). SCFR significantly affected probability of distant metastasis (P < 0. 001) and overall survival (P < 0. 001). Conclusion: Although RT was not significantly associated with SFRFS, postoperative RT was significantly associated with a lower locoregional (i. e., supraclavicular/infraclavicular and chest wall) recurrence rate. SCFR significantly influenced distant metastasis-free survival, which significantly influenced the overall survival of T1-2N1M0 breast cancer patients after mastectomy. Thus, prophylactic RT is recommended in T1-2N1M0 breast cancer patients, especially those who have Her-2 positive lesions.

        Study on the influencing factors of rural tourism behavior intention in China based on the theory of planned behavior

        중국 국민의 경제 수준이 점진적으로 향상되고, 명절과 공휴일제도가 지속적으로 개선되면서, 마음을 안정시키 는 생활체험이 주요 목적으로 부각되면서 농촌 관광이 급속도로 발전하였다. 농업인의 기업가정신, 농가소득 증대, 농 촌 번영 및 관광경영학과, 관광기업의 경영 및 운영목표 달성을 위하여, 본 연구는 관련 문헌 검토와 참고자료에 기초 하여 연구 가설을 제시하였다. 본 논문은 앞선 연구결과를 바탕으로 주민의 농촌관광 행동 의도에 대한 설문조사를 하였고, SPSS23.0을 이용하여 표본 데이터에 대한 상관분석과 가설검증을 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. (1) 시골 관광 태도, 주관적인 규범과 지각 행위 통제가 농촌 관광 행위의 방향에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것이다. (2)정 책 시스템과 자원 조건은 농촌 관광 행동 의도에 상당히 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것이다. (3)정책 시스템은 주관적 규범과 인식된 행동 통제에 상당히 긍정적인 영향을 미치고, 자원 조건은 농촌 관광 태도, 주관적 규범, 인식된 행동 통제에 모두 상당히 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. With the gradual improvement of China's residents' economic level, the continuous improvement of the holiday system, and the main purpose of relaxing mood and experiencing life, rural tourism has developed rapidly. In order to further achieve the goals of farmers' entrepreneurship, agricultural income increase, rural prosperity, and tourism management departments and tourism enterprises' management and operation objectives, this paper puts forward research hypotheses on the basis of relevant literature review and references. Based on the previous research results, this paper designs a questionnaire on Residents' rural tourism behavior intention, and uses SPSS23.0 to conduct correlation analysis and hypothesis test on the sample data, and draws the following conclusions: (1) rural tourism attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control have a significant positive impact on rural tourism behavior intention; (2) policy system and resource conditions have a significant positive impact on rural tourism behavior intention; (3) policy system has a significant positive impact on subjective norms and perceived behavior control, and resource conditions have a significant positive impact on rural tourism attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control.

        Comparison between Field Test and Numerical Analysis for a Jacket Platform in Bohai Bay, China

        This paper presents a comparison between numerical analysis and field test on a real offshore platform in Bohai Bay, China. This platform is a steel jacket offshore platform with vertical piles. The field testing under wave-induced force and wind force etc. was conducted, in order to obtain the dynamic parameters of the structure, including the frequencies of the jacket platform, as well as the corresponding damping ratios and mode shapes. The natural excitation technology (NExT) combined with eigensystem realization algorithm (ERA) and the peak picking (PP) method in frequency domain are carried out for modal parameter identification under operational conditions. The three-dimensional finite element model (FEM) is constructed by ANSYS and an analytical modal analysis is performed to generate modal parameters. The analytical results were compared with experimental results. A good agreement was achieved between the finite element and analysis and field test results. It is further demonstrated that the numerical and experimental modal analysis provide a comprehensive study on the dynamic properties of the jacket platform. According to the analysis results, the modal parameters identification under ambient excitation can calibrate finite element model of the jacket platform structures, or can be used for the structural health monitoring system.

      • Pole-to-Ground Fault Analysis for MMC-HVDC Grid

        Pole-to-ground (PTG) fault analysis is of vital importance for HVDC grid. However, many factors are not considered in the existing studies, such as the asymmetrical property of PTG fault, the coupling issue between dc transmission lines and the complexity of dc grid’s structure. This paper presents a PTG fault analysis method, which is based on common- and differential-mode (CDM) transformation. Similar to the symmetrical component method in ac system, the transformation decomposes the HVDC grid into CDM networks at first. Then, under the perspective of CDM components, a transfer impedance based analysis is performed to obtain the analytical expressions of PTG fault characteristics. The proposed PTG fault analysis method is applicable to arbitrary HVDC grid topologies. And the analytical expressions can give theoretical guidance for fault protection. The validity of the proposed PTG fault analysis method is verified by comparison with the simulation results in PSCAD/EMTDC.

        Evolutionary Rates and Phylogeographical Analysis of Odontoglossum Ringspot Virus Based on the 166 Coat Protein Gene Sequences

        Odontoglossum ringspot virus (ORSV) is a member of the genus Tobamovirus. It is one of the most prevalent viruses infecting orchids worldwide. Earlier studies reported the genetic variability of ORSV isolates from Korea and China. However, the evolutionary rate, timescale, and phylogeographical analyses of ORSV were unclear. Twenty-one coat protein (CP) gene sequences of ORSV were determined in this study, and used them together with 145 CP sequences obtained from GenBank to infer the genetic diversities, evolutionary rate, timescale and migration of ORSV populations. Evolutionary rate of ORSV populations was $1.25{\times}10^{-3}nucleotides/site/y$. The most recent common ancestors came from 30 year ago (95% confidence intervals, 26-40). Based on CP gene, ORSV migrated from mainland China and South Korea to Taiwan island, Germany, Australia, Singapore, and Indonesia, and it also circulated within east Asia. Our study is the first attempt to evaluate the evolutionary rates, timescales and migration dynamics of ORSV.

        Strength criterion of plain recycled aggregate concrete under biaxial compression

        This paper presents results of biaxial compressive tests and strength criterion on two replacement percentages of recycled coarse aggregate (RPRCA) by mass for plain structural recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) at all kinds of stress ratios. The failure mode characteristic of specimens and the direction of the cracks were observed and described. The two principally static strengths in the corresponding stress state were measured. The influence of the stress ratios on the biaxial strengths of RAC was also analyzed. The experimental results showed that the ratios of the biaxial compressive strength  3f to the corresponding uniaxial compressive strength c for the two RAC are higher than that of the conventional concrete (CC), and dependent on the replacement percentages of recycled coarse aggregate, stress states and stress ratios; however, the differences of tensile-compressive ratios for the two RAC and CC are smaller. On this basis, a new failure criterion with the stress ratios is proposed for plain RAC under biaxial compressive stress states. It provides the experimental and theoretical foundations for strength analysis of RAC structures subject to complex loads.

      • Robust Multi-response Parameter Design based on RSM

        This paper discusses multi-response robust parameter design problems based on response surface method. Most research effort on multi-response parameter design problem focuses much on finding out optimal parameters based on certain criteria or objectives. Research shows that optimal solution in terms of some criteria may not be robust. To achieve robust solution we should consider how sensitive the solution is when the factors change around it. A comparative study of methods for multi-response robust parameter design is conducted. Solution with consideration of robustness and optimality is proposed with applications of the example.

      • Multiresponse Surfaces Optimization Based on Evidential Reasoning Theory

        During process design or process optimization, it is quite common for experimenters to find optimum operating conditions for several responses simultaneously. The traditional multiresponse surfaces optimization methods do not consider the uncertain relationship among these responses sufficiently. For this reason, the authors propose an optimization method based on evidential reasoning theory by Dempster and Shafer. By maximizing the basic probability assignment function, which indicates the degree of belief that certain operating condition is the solution of this multiresponse surfaces optimization problem, the desirable operating condition can be found.
