      • Xiaoshuo as a Cataloguing Term in Traditional Chinese Bibliography

        Xiaoshuo has long been used as a Chinese equivalent for "fiction" by students and scholars of traditional Chinese literature since the early 20th century. In this paper, however, I will argue that xiaoshuo, which was never used in pre-modern China to designate the type of writings known today as "fiction", was primarily used as a cataloguing term in traditional bibliography to refer to any writings which were considered to be worth preserving but were considered to be incongruous with any one of the mainstream schools of Masters` writings. For this purpose, the author traces the use of the word "xiaoshuo" in early Chinese classics and bibliographical books of dynastic history, and explore the etymological rationale underlying "xiaoshuo" as a cataloguing term in classical Chinese.

        Comparative Studies on Two Fluoro-Substituted 2-Pyrazoline Derivatives with Experimental and Theoretical Methods

        Two fluoro-substituted 2-pyrazoline derivatives, 1-phenyl-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-pyrazoline (1) and 1-phenyl-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-(2-fluoro-phenyl)-2-pyrazoline (2) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectra. The crystal structure of 1 has been determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction. For the two compounds, density functional theory (DFT) calculations of the structures and natural population atomic charge analysis (NPA) have been performed at B3LYP/6-311G** level of theory. By using TD-DFT method, electron spectra of 1 and 2 have been predicted, which are very approximate with the experimental ones. Comparative studies on 1 and 2 indicate that the location change of fluorine atom in 5-position phenyl ring of 2-pyrazoline does not make significant change of geometries and electronic transition bands, but it leads to evident change of atomic charge distributions and peak intensities of UV and fluorescence spectra.

      • Expression and Clinical Significance of Osteopontin in Calcified Breast Tissue

        Osteopontin (OPN) is an integrin-binding protein, believed to be involved in a variety of physiological cellular functions. The physiology of OPN is best documented in the bone where this secreted adhesive glycoprotein appears to be involved in osteoblast differentiation and bone formation. In our study, we used semi-quantitative RT-PCR of osteopontin in calcification tissue of breast to detect breast cancer metastasis. The obtained data indicate that the expression of osteopontin is related to calcification tissue of breast, and possibly with the incidence of breast cancer. The expression strength of OPN by RT-PCR detection was related to the degree of malignancy of breast lesions, suggesting a close relationship between OPN and breast calcification tissue. The results revealed that expression of OPN mRNA is related to calcification of breast cancer tissue and to the development of breast cancer. Determination of OPN mRNA expression can be expected to be a guide to clinical therapy and prediction of the prognosis of breast cancer patients.

        Optimal Monochromatic Imaging of Spectral Computed Tomography Potentially Improves the Quality of Hepatic Vascular Imaging

        Objective: To investigate the efficiency of spectral computed tomography (CT) optimal monochromatic images in improving imaging quality of liver vessels. Materials and Methods: The imaging data of 35 patients with abdominal CT angiography were retrospectively analyzed. Hepatic arteries, portal veins, and hepatic veins were reconstructed with mixed energy (quality check, QC), 70 keV and optimal monochromatic mode. Comparative parameters were analyzed including CT value, image noise (IN), contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and subjective qualitative analysis. Results: The optimal monochromatic value for assessment of the common hepatic artery, portal vein, and hepatic vein ranged between 49 keV and 53 keV, with a mean of 51 keV. There were statistically significant differences (p < 0.001) among the optimal monochromatic, 70 keV and QC images with regards to the hepatic vascular CT value, IN, CNR, SNR, and subjective qualitative score. CNR of the common hepatic artery in the optimal monochromatic, 70 keV and QC groups was 24.6 ± 10.9, 18.1 ± 8.3, and 11.6 ± 4.6, respectively (p < 0.001) with subjective scores of 4.7 ± 0.2, 4.0 ± 0.3, and 3.6 ± 0.4, respectively (p < 0.001). CNR of the hepatic portal vein was 6.9 ± 2.7, 4.3 ± 1.9, and 3.0 ± 2.1, respectively (p < 0.001) with subjective scores of 4.5 ± 0.3, 3.9 ± 0.4, and 3.3 ± 0.3, respectively (p < 0.001). CNR of the hepatic vein was 5.7 ± 2.3, 4.2 ± 1.9, and 2.7 ± 1.4, respectively with subjective scores of 4.3 ± 0.3, 3.8 ± 0.4, and 3.2 ± 0.3, respectively (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Optimal monochromatic images can lead to improvement in the imaging parameters and optimization of the image quality of the common hepatic artery, hepatic portal vein and hepatic vein compared with conventional mixed kV and with 70 keV datasets.

        One-step preparation of MnO2 nanozyme by PS-CDs for antibacterial, inhibition of S. aureus biofilm growth and colorimetric assay of tiopronin

        The novel nanozyme has been used in the detection field as biosensor, but has also been employed in newfields like antibacterial and inhibiting of biofilm growth applications. This paper reports the rapid preparationof the nanozyme PS-CDs-MnO2 with oxidase activity by using PS-CDs as reducing agent to reduceKMnO4. The mechanisms of positive electrical property of PS-CDs-MnO2 and the single linear oxygen(1O2) have promised the broad-spectrum antibacterial ability and high efficiency in eliminating bacteria,with 48 h long-term antibacterial effect. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) againstStaphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), Bacillus subtilis (B. subtilis), Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Pseudomonasaeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) at 7.50 lg/mL, 60 lg/mL, 15 lg/mL and 60 lg/mL, respectively. The preparedPS-CDs-MnO2 could effectively inhibit the formation of S. aureus biofilm at the concentration of 10 lg/mL. The visually sensitive and selective sensing platform based on PS-CDs-MnO2-TMB was established, andrealized the colorimetric detection of tiopronin (TPN) with a detection range at 285.71 nM–14.28 lMand detection limit at 6.30 nM. This research provides a good theoretical and practical basis for the preparationof oxidase nanozyme and its application in detection, antibacterial and inhibition of biofilm formationfields.

        Novel space vector-based PWM strategy with minimal circulating current and line-current ripple for two parallel interleaved inverters

        Existing PWM methods suffer from a trade off between zero-sequence circulating current (ZSCC) and line-current ripple, which are two major concerns of two parallel interleaved two-level (2L) voltage-source converters (VSCs). Thus, this paper introduces a novel space vector-based PWM strategy to reduce both line-current ripple and ZSCC. Given the redundancy of the vector combination of two parallel interleaved converters, this paper proposes eight optimal vector sequences, which simultaneously optimizes the ZSCC and the line-current ripple. Then, a carrier-based scheme is applied to yield optimal vector sequences, which simplifies the implementation procedure. Furthermore, this paper quantitatively compares both the ZSCC and the line-current ripple of the proposed method to those of existing PWM schemes. This comparison confirms that the proposed method is superior to existing PWM schemes in terms of current ripple and ZSCC. Finally, experimental results further verify the theoretical analysis and the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

        FolkRank++: An Optimization of FolkRank Tag Recommendation Algorithm Integrating User and Item Information

        The graph-based tag recommendation algorithm FolkRank can effectively utilize the relationships between three entities, namely users, items and tags, and achieve better tag recommendation performance. However, FolkRank does not consider the internal relationships of user-user, item-item and tag-tag. This leads to the failure of FolkRank to effectively map the tagging behavior which contains user neighbors and item neighbors to a tripartite graph. For item-item relationships, we can dig out items that are very similar to the target item, even though the target item may not have a strong connection to these similar items in the user-item-tag graph of FolkRank. Hence this paper proposes an improved FolkRank algorithm named FolkRank++, which fully considers the user-user and item-item internal relationships in tag recommendation by adding the correlation information between users or items. Based on the traditional FolkRank algorithm, an initial weight is also given to target user and target item's neighbors to supply the user-user and item-item relationships. The above work is mainly completed from two aspects: (1) Finding items similar to target item according to the attribute information, and obtaining similar users of the target user according to the history behavior of the user tagging items. (2) Calculating the weighted degree of items and users to evaluate their importance, then assigning initial weights to similar items and users. Experimental results show that this method has better recommendation performance.

      • Expression of Glypican-3 is Highly Associated with Pediatric Hepatoblastoma: a Systemic Analysis

        Objective: Glypican-3 (GPC3) is reported to be an oncofetal protein that is a useful diagnostic immunomarker for hepatoblastoma. However, the results are not inclusive. This study systemically investigated the association between expression of GPC3 and pediatric hepatoblastoma. Methods: Clinical studies evaluating the association were identified using a predefined search strategy. GPC3 immunohistochemistry was applied in the pathological diagnosis of hepatoblastoma using the monoclonal antibodies with formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded specimens. Positive predictive rates for the association between expression of GPC3 and pediatric hepatoblastoma were calculated. Results: Specimens from four clinical studies which including 134 patients with pediatric hepatoblastoma tested by GPC3 immunohistochemistry were considered eligible for inclusion. Systemic analysis showed that, in all patients, pooled positive predictive rate of the association between expression of GPC3 and pediatric hepatoblastoma was 95.5% (128/134). Conclusion: This systemic analysis suggests that the expression of glypican-3 is highly associated with the diagnosis of pediatric hepatoblastoma.
