오늘날 많은 기업들이 근로자와 조직 전체의 성과를 향상시키기 위해 개인 성과급 제도를 활용하고 있다. 하지만 성과 향상이라는 긍정적 효과 이면에 동료와의 과도한 경쟁과 협력 저하, 불공정성 인식 등을 발생시켜 직무 소진(Job burnout)과 같은 부정적인 효과가 나타날 수 있다는 가능성에 대해서도 꾸준히 언급되어 왔다(Larkin, Pierce, Gino, 2012; Shirom, Westman, Melamed, 1999). 그럼에도 불구하고 개인 성과급 제도가 직무 소진에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 연구는 매우 드물다. 심지어 이를 밝히고자 한 소수 연구들에서조차 일관된 결과가 나타나지 않았다. 이런 이유로 개인 성과급 제도가 직무 소진에 미치는 직접적인 영향뿐만 아니라 이 관계를 조절 또는 매개할 수 있는 변수를 밝히는 연구의 필요성이 높아지고 있다(Ganster, Kiersch, Marsh, & Bowen, 2011). 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 상충되는 선행 연구결과를 설명하기 위해 개인 성과급 격차 (수평적 임금격차)가 직무 소진의 하위차원인 고갈(Exhaustion)과 일로부터의 심리적 이탈 (Disengagement)에 미치는 영향을 직무 요구-자원 모델(Job demands-resources model)을 토 대로(Demerouti, Bakker, Nachreiner, & Schaufeli, 2001) 살펴보았다. 그리고 이 과정에서 직무자율성의 조절효과와 팀 구성원 교환관계(Team member exchange)의 매개효과가 존재하 는 지를 확인하였다. 이를 위해 일반 근로자들을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였고 총 220부의 설문이 분석에 활용되었다. 분석 결과, 개인 성과급 격차는 고갈을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났으나 일로부터의 심리적 이탈에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않았다. 직무자율성의 조절효과와 팀 구성원 교환관계의 매개효과는 일로부터의 심리적 이탈에 대해서만 지지되었다. 직무자율성이 높은 경우 개인 성과급 격차는 오히려 일로부터의 심리적 이탈을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 팀 구성원 교환관계는 개인 성과급 격차가 일로부터의 심리적 이탈에 미치는 영향에서 완전 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 결론에서는 연구 결과의 해석과 의의 그리고 한계점 및 향후 연구 방안들이 논의되었다. Today, individual pay for performance(individual PFP) is commonly implemented in workplace as a business strategy to improve worker’s motivation and firm’s performance. However, its effect on worker’s stress and well-being outcomes has rarely been investigated. Also, a few studies examining the relationship between individual PFP on stress have yield mixed results. Even though the majority of studies have supported the general negative effects of them, not all of studies have supported these negative effects. To explain these inconsistent results, studies investigating potential moderating and mediating variables are required. In this research, we analyzed the main effect of pay distribution caused by individual PFP on job burnout at first. Second, job autonomy was examined as an important moderator in the relationship between pay distribution and job burnout. Lastly, mediating effects of team member exchange were analyzed. The results of regression analyses revealed that pay distribution only caused increases in exhaustion. According to the results of test for moderating effects of job autonomy, the moderating effect of job autonomy on the relationship between pay dispersion and exhaustion is not supported. However, the moderating effect of job autonomy on the relationship between pay dispersion and disengagement is supported. Employees who have high level of job autonomy may react more positively and experience less disengagement from pay dispersion. The results of test for mediating effects of team member exchange show that it fully mediates the relationship between pay dispersion and disengagement. However, the effects of pay distribution on exhaustion were not mediated by team member exchange. As individual PFP has gained in popularity, findings from this study requires more attention on the tradeoff between the widely discussed management advantages of such pay systems and the stress and its related problems they place on employees.
Portable Serial Robot Manipulator with Distributed Actuation Mechanism

In this paper, a portable robot manipulator is developed with distributed actuation mechanism. In order to achieve the high performance and suitable size simultaneously, a distributed actuation mechanism is implemented. The proposed robot manipulator has several advantages such as high payload capacity and small size with high efficiency. In particular, a folding function is adopted for the portability. Prototype 2-DOF manipulator is developed, and the performance is experimentally verified.
Metastatic colon cancer mimics HELLP syndrome in pregnancy

Colorectal cancer(CRC) is rare in pregnant women. Common symptoms include bleeding, abdominal pain, nausea, constipation, and anemia. These symptoms are commonly seen in pregnancy and confused with physiologic changes of pregnancy. This makes early diagnosis of CRC difficult and cancer to spread. We present a 34-year-old pregnant woman who was revealed to have advanced CRC with hepatic metastasis. She was referred to our clinic due to right upper quadrant (RUQ) pain with dichorionic diamniotic twin fetuses at 27+6 weeks of gestation. Her blood pressure 123/91 mmHg. Estimated fetal weight (EFW) of F1 was 1258 g, which was close to average, but EFW of F2 was 773 g (5th percentile=789) and suitable for fetal growth restriction. Umbilical artery Doppler of F2 showed absent of end-diastolic flow. She was hospitalized for maternal and fetal surveillance and workup for preeclampsia. Laboratory testing showed anemia, elevated liver enzyme and LDH, and proteinuria (Hb 9.5g/dL, AST 87 IU/L, LDH 1660 IU/L, random urine protein/creatinine ratio 0.32). She was presumed to have severe preeclampsia, also known as HELLP syndrome. After admission, her diastolic blood pressure was maintained at a level not exceeding 100 mmHg and there were no headache or blurred vision symptoms, but she complained of continuous stabbing RUQ pain, of which NRS scale was 2-5 points. She underwent liver ultrasonography and it showed multiple hyperechoic masses, considered as multinodular hepatocellular carcinoma or multiple metastasis. For further evaluation and management of maternal malignancy, she delivered twin female infants at 28+2 weeks of gestation on March 15th. After delivery, abdominopelvic computed tomography and colonoscopic biopsy revealed colon cancer with multiple metastasis, consistent with stage IV. Now She is under palliative chemotherapy.
Mitochondrial dysfunction induced by callyspongiolide promotes autophagy-dependent cell death

Callyspongiolide is a marine macrolide known to induce caspaseindependent cancer cell death. While its toxic effects have been known, the mechanism leading to cell death is yet to be identified. We report that Callyspongiolide R form at C-21 (cally2R) causes mitochondrial dysfunction by inhibiting mitochondrial complex I or II, leading to a disruption of mitochondrial membrane potential and a deprivation of cellular energy. Subsequently, we observed, using electron microscopy, a drastic formation of autophagosome and mitophagy. Supporting these data, LC3, an autophagosome marker, was shown to co-localize with LAMP2, a lysosomal protein, showing autolysosome formation. RNA sequencing results indicated the induction of hypoxia and blocking of EGF-dependent pathways, which could be caused by induction of autophagy. Furthermore, mTOR and AKT pathways preventing autophagy were repressed while AMPK was upregulated, supporting autophagosome progress. Finally, the combination of cally2R with known anti-cancer drugs, such as gefitinib, sorafenib, and rapamycin, led to synergistic cell death, implicating potential therapeutic applications of callyspongiolide for future treatments. In the note, a novel disturbance observer capable of both abrupt disturbances and general disturbance having bounded bandwidth is proposed. Initiated from an adaptive disturbance observation, we enhanced the estimation property to cope with abrupt disturbance and bounded bandwidth disturbances. The generalized form of disturbance observer is derived on the state space. To estimate the abrupt disturbance efficiently, time delay estimation is combined with adaptive estimation method. In addition, for a class of linear systems, its potential applicability will be demonstrated by a numerical simulation.
