        Proposals on the Legislative Amendments to the Scope and Orders of Intestate Successors in China

        The amendments to Chinese Succession Law are on the agenda. After examining the amendment debates on the scope and orders of intestate successors, this paper analyzes the existing law on the scope and orders of intestate successors as well its legislative defects. Based on the legislative experiences from foreign countries and the inheritance willingness and habits of Chinese common people, this paper puts forward some proposals on the amendment and improvement of succession law concerned as a reference to the legislature.

        New Developments of Parentage Law in China and Its Reform Recommendations

        중화인민공화국의 건국 후 어느 때보다 많은 관심이 미성년 자녀의 권리와 이익에 쏟아지고 있다. 중국의 입 법부는 관련법을 꾸준히 개정하고 있으며, 1950년 혼인법 제정 이래 미성년 자녀의 권리를 보호하기 위해 더 많은 조치들을 취해오고 있다. 중국 친족법에서도 큰 진척이 있었다. “아동의 권리와 이익 우선” 원칙이 점진 적으로 “부모의 권리로부터의 파생” 원칙을 대체하고 있으며, “아동 최선의 이익” 원칙이 중국 친족법의 몇몇 조항에서 실현되었다. 그러나 친족법상의 결함은 다음과 같이 여전히 존재한다. “아동 최선의 이익” 원칙의 실현의 부족, 혼인 중의 자녀와 혼인 외의 자녀 간 기술적 차이, 자녀의 이익을 감독·보호할 시스템 메커니즘의 결여; 친자관계의 추정 , 부인과 자녀 소송 시스템의 체계적 조항 결여; 이민자 부모의 자녀에 대한 양육에 대한 감독 시스템의 부재; 인공수태술로 출생한 자녀의 법적 지위에 관한 체계적 제도의 부재; 이혼 시 친족법상 미성년 자녀 보호조치 의 불충분. 입법과 적용을 위한 지침에 따라 현행 친족법상 부모가 중심이 되는 입법적 관념을 완전히 폐지하고, “아동 최 선의 이익” 원칙을 명확히 하는 것이 필요하다. 또한 친자관계의 확정 체계와 인공수태술로 출생한 자녀의 법 적 지위에 관한 체계적 법률이 도입되어야 한다. 나아가 혼인 외의 자녀와 류수아동에 대한 더 많은 보호조치 들이 마련되어야 하고, 이혼법상 미성년 자녀의 이익을 감독·보호하는 데 상당한 노력이 요구된다.

        Improvement of Yield Asymmetry and Enhancement of Mechanical Properties of Extruded AZ110 Alloy with La-Rich Misch Metal Addition

        In this paper, effects of the La-rich MM (Misch Metal) on the microstructure, texture and mechanical properties of extrudedAZ110 alloy during tension and compression deformation were investigated. High strength and low tension–compressionyield asymmetry of AZ110MM alloy (AZ110 alloy with La-rich MM addition) are developed by hot extrusion. The additionof La-rich MM brings Al-RE phases (Al2(La, Ce) and Al11(La, Ce)3) to the as-cast AZ110 alloy, which play an importantrole in the grain refinement and texture weakening during extrusion deformation. Such grain refinement and texture weakeningobviously inhibit the nucleation and growth of twins and make the deformation mechanism change from twinning tomultiple slip during cold compression deformation. Furthermore, the Al-RE phases also improve the tension–compressionyield asymmetry performance of the extruded AZ110 alloy via the combining effects of grain refinement, texture weakeningand the transformation from twinning to multiple slip. Moreover, the extruded AZ110MM alloy shows much higher strengthover AZ110 alloy, owning to texture effect, grain boundary strengthening and precipitation strengthening.

      • Load-transferring mechanism and evaluation theory of bolt with single and double nut fasteners

        The use of the ordinary double nut (i.e., ODN) composed of a master nut (i.e., M-nut) and a slave nut (i.e., S-nut) is a highly efficient method to prevent bolts loosening. A novel double nut (i.e., FODN) composed of a master nut (i.e., M-nut) and flat slave nut (i.e., FS-nut) is proposed to save raw materials. The bolt fastening tests with single nut, ODN and FODN are performed to investigate the preload and counterbalance forces. Corresponding finite element analysis (FEA) models are established and validated by comparing the preload with the experimental results. The load-bearing capacity, the extrusion effect, and the contact stress of each engaged thread for ODN and FODN are observed by FEA. The experimental and simulated results revealed that the bolt fastening with double-nut has different load-transferring mechanisms from single-nut. Nevertheless, for double-nut/bolt assemblies, the FS-nut can provide load transfer that is like that of the S-nut, and the FODN is a reasonable and reliable fastening method. Furthermore, based on the theory of Yamamoto, a formula considering the extrusion effect is proposed to calculate the preload distribution of the double-nut, which is applicable to varying thicknesses of slave-nuts in double-nut/bolt assemblies.

        Periosteum-inspired in situ CaP generated nanocomposite hydrogels with strong bone adhesion and superior stretchability for accelerated distraction osteogenesis

        Distraction osteogenesis (DO) is an efficacious but lengthy procedure to reconstruct segmental bone defects under the principle of tension-stress, during which the periosteum-mediated mechanical stimulation plays a pivotal role. Inspired by the dynamic process of DO and the mechanical stimulation of periosteum, a new design of bionic periosteum was developed to simulate the mechanical transduction of natural periosteum for the application in DO procedure.In this study, an injectable organic-inorganic hybrid hydrogel was developed based on a novel combination of the PEGylated poly (glycerol sebacate) (PEGS) polymer network and in situ formed CaP nanoparticles (ICPNs). Rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (rBMSCs) and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were cultured and tested in vitro to evaluate biocompatibility, cell adhesion, proliferation, and pro-osteogenic and pro-angiogenic activity. In vivo experiments were conducted in the rat tibial model of distraction osteogenesis.The developed nanocomposite hydrogels exhibited excellent injectability, robust bone adhesion, superior stretchability, and enhanced osteogenic activity. The results of in vitro and in vivo studies showed that PEGS/ICPN hydrogels could promote new bone formation and mineralization during the dynamic distraction process through the synergistic effects of angiogenesis and osteogenesis.This periosteum-inspired nanocomposite hydrogel represents a mechanobiology approach for effectively restoring large bone defects through the dynamic DO process.

        A Novel Prediction-based Spectrum Allocation Mechanism for Mobile Cognitive Radio Networks

        The spectrum allocation is an attractive issue for mobile cognitive radio (CR) network. However, the time-varying characteristic of the spectrum allocation is not fully investigated. Thus, this paper originally deduces the probabilities of spectrum availability and interference constrain in theory under the mobile environment. Then, we propose a prediction mechanism of the time-varying available spectrum lists and the dynamic interference topologies. By considering the node mobility and primary users` (PUs`) activity, the mechanism is capable of overcoming the static shortcomings of traditional model. Based on the mechanism, two prediction-based spectrum allocation algorithms, prediction greedy algorithm (PGA) and prediction fairness algorithm (PFA), are presented to enhance the spectrum utilization and improve the fairness. Moreover, new utility functions are redefined to measure the effectiveness of different schemes in the mobile CR network. Simulation results show that PGA gets more average effective spectrums than the traditional schemes, when the mean idle time of PUs is high. And PFA could achieve good system fairness performance, especially when the speeds of cognitive nodes are high.

        Fuzzy system and Improved APIT (FIAPIT) combined range-free localization method for WSN

        Among numerous localization schemes proposed specifically for Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), the range-free localization algorithms based on the received signal strength indication (RSSI) have attracted considerable research interest for their simplicity and low cost. As a typical range-free algorithm, Approximate Point In Triangulation test (APIT) suffers from significant estimation errors due to its theoretical defects and RSSI inaccuracy. To address these problems, a novel localization method called FIAPIT, which is a combination of an improved APIT (IAPIT) and a fuzzy logic system, is proposed. The proposed IAPIT addresses the theoretical defects of APIT in near (it`s defined as a point adjacent to a sensor is closer to three vertexes of a triangle area where the sensor resides simultaneously) and far (the opposite case of the near case) cases partly. To compensate for negative effects of RSSI inaccuracy, a fuzzy system, whose logic inference is based on IAPIT, is applied. Finally, the sensor`s coordinates are estimated as the weighted average of centers of gravity (COGs) of triangles` intersection areas. Each COG has a different weight inferred by FIAPIT. Numerical simulations were performed to compare four algorithms with varying system parameters. The results show that IAPIT corrects the defects of APIT when adjacent nodes are enough, and FIAPIT is better than others when RSSI is inaccuracy.

        Research on the Microstructure Characteristic and Tensile Property of Laser‑MIG Hybrid Welded Joint for 5A06 Aluminum Alloy

        Laser-metal inter gas (MIG) hybrid welding technique provides higher overall productivity over the traditional fusionwelding processes for joining medium-thick aluminum alloy. In this paper, laser-MIG hybrid welding experiment was performedby the TruDisk 12003 Laser and KUKA robot. The second fusion line, the laser-dominated region and laser-MIGhybrid-dominated region were introduced to this study to discuss the microstructure distribution. A three-dimensionalfinite element model was established by MSC. Marc to study the thermal field distribution of laser-MIG hybrid weldingprocess. It found that the temperature in the laser-MIG hybrid-dominated region was much higher than the laser-dominatedregion. The formation of the second fusion line in the welded joint is mainly owing to the different heat effect of laser-archybrid-dominated region and laser-dominated region. The crystalline size of equiaxed dendrite grains in the laser-MIGhybrid-dominated region is finer than the laser-dominated region. In addition, the tensile property was measured to dissectthe failure mechanism of the laser-MIG hybrid welding joints. The element content in fractured surface at the position ofdimple and pore wall were comprehensively analyzed. The element content of Mg and O in pore wall are higher than dimple. In the solidification process, the growth of equiaxed dendrite grains is in part hindered by the existence of coarse pores inthe laser-MIG hybrid-dominated region.

        Inhibition of chromosomal region maintenance 1 suppresses the migration and invasion of glioma cells via inactivation of the STAT3/MMP2 signaling pathway

        Chromosomal region maintenance 1 (CRM1) is associated with an adverse prognosis in glioma. We previously reported that CRM1 inhibition suppressed glioma cell proliferation both in vitro and in vivo. In this study, we investigated the role of CRM1 in the migration and invasion of glioma cells. S109, a novel reversible selective inhibitor of CRM1, was used to treat Human glioma U87 and U251 cells. Cell migration and invasion were evaluated by wound-healing and transwell invasion assays. The results showed that S109 significantly inhibited the migration and invasion of U87 and U251 cells. However, mutation of Cys528 in CRM1 abolished the inhibitory activity of S109 in glioma cells. Furthermore, we found that S109 treatment decreased the expression level and activity of MMP2 and reduced the level of phosphorylated STAT3 but not total STAT3. Therefore, the inhibition of migration and invasion induced by S109 may be associated with the downregulation of MMP2 activity and expression, and inactivation of the STAT3 signaling pathway. These results support our previous conclusion that inhibition of CRM1 is an attractive strategy for the treatment of glioma.

        The association between obesity and glaucoma in older adults: evidence from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study

        Objectives: This study evaluated the association between obesity and glaucoma in middle-aged and older people. A population-based retrospective cohort study was conducted using data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study.Methods: Glaucoma was assessed via self-reports. Multivariate logistic regression analysis and a Cox proportional hazards model were used to assess the relationship between obesity and glaucoma risk.Results: Older men living in urban areas who were single, smokers, and non-drinkers were found to have a significantly higher incidence of glaucoma (all P<0.05). Diabetes, hypertension, and kidney disease were also associated with higher glaucoma risk, while dyslipidemia was associated with lower risk (all P<0.05). After the model was adjusted for demographic, socio-economic, and health-related variables, obesity was significantly associated with a 10.2% decrease in glaucoma risk according to the Cox proportional hazards model (hazard ratio, 0.898; 95% CI, 0.829-0.973) and an 11.8% risk reduction in the multivariate logistic regression analysis (odds ratio, 0.882; 95% CI, 0.803-0.968). A further subgroup analysis showed that obesity was associated with a reduced risk of glaucoma in people living in rural areas, in smokers, and in those with kidney disease (all P<0.05). Obesity also reduced glaucoma risk in people with diabetes, hypertension, or dyslipidemia more than in healthy controls (all P<0.05).Conclusions: This cohort study suggests that obesity was associated with a reduced risk of glaucoma, especially in rural residents, smokers, and people with kidney disease. Obesity exerted a stronger protective effect in people with diabetes, hypertension, or dyslipidemia than in healthy people.
