Clinical studies were carried out 62 cases of patients with lung cancer treated by Hangamdan(抗癌丹) from January 1th 1998 to September 30th 2000. The results were summarized as follows; 1. Distribution of those attached by lung cancer, by sex, showd that Male is more then Female, by age, showed that the number of sixties is majority. 2. Distribution of diagnostic stage, in descending order; stage Ⅳ(43.6%,top), stage Ⅲ(35.5%), stage Ⅱ(17.7%), stage Ⅰ(3.2%). 3. The effects of maintenance and improvement in the symptoms with traditional oriental therapy(83.3%) and combined treatment of western and oriental therapy(84.0%) were observed. The effects of the symptoms were as follows; cough(50.0%), anorexia(48.4%), chest discomfort(31.0%), sputum(24.2%), general body weakness(11.3%), hemoptysis(9.7%) and etc. in orders. 4. Analysis of hematology attached by lung cancer, maintenance and increasing of WBC(98.4%), RBC(74.2%), Hgb(71.0%), Platelet(96.7%) were observed. After taken Hangamdan, the safety of the liver and kidney were as follows; maintenance and decreasing of AST(91.5%), ALT(93.2%), γ-GTP(95.0%), BUN(82.7%), Creatinine(93.3%) were observed. 5. Analysis of IL-12 and IFN-γ attached by lung cancer, increasing of IL-12(31.3%), IFN-γ(72.7%) were observed. 6. Analysis of QOL attached by lung cancer, maintenance and improvement of combined treatment of western and oriental therapy(94.0%), traditional oriental therapy(91.7%) were observed. 7. Analysis of survival in patients with Ⅳ stage of lung cancer, above 7 months(22.2%), 12 months(70.4%). 8. Analysis of antitumor effects, maintenance of traditional oriental therapy(50.0%) and maintenance and improvement of combined treatment of western and oriental therapy(80.0%) were observed. 9. Analysis of curative valuation, maintenance and improvement of traditional oriental therapy(50.0%), combined treatment of western and oriental therapy(60.0%) were observed. From the above resutls, it is suggested that Hangamdan has significant effects of antitumor and immune activity, also could be usefully applied for lung cancer patients by combinatin with western therapy or alone.

After treating a patient suffering from hepatitis A, a significant result is gained as follows. This study was done from the patient who were at the Oriental Medicine Hospital of Daejeon University during 20 days, from 5. 22 to 6. 9, 2001. A 26-year-old patient had complained an general body jaundice, fatigue, nausea, dizziness and general body weakness. During the hospital periods, the kinds of therapy are acupuncture and Herbal Medication. Given the treatment, he felt so satisfied about his symptom's improvement, and the numerical value of a laboratory examination was improved.

In the literatual study on Holotrichia, the results were obtained as follows ; 1. Holotrichia is larva of Holotrichia diomphalia Bates etc. powder or liquor of Holotrichia is used medically. 2. Appearance of Holotrichia is shape of kidney, yellowish color. 3. The oriental characters of Holotrichia is warm, toxicant, salty. 4. The significant efficancy of Holotrichia is breaking the stagnant blood. 5. Holotrichia can be applied to the diseases related to thrombosis, and recover the demage of liver. 6. Holotrichia avails Liver diseases such as Hepatitis, Liver cirrhosis, Hepatosplenomegaly, Hepatoma etc.

This research proposes an automatic torsion beam axle optimization process and obtains the optimal torsion design parameters, such as thickness and shape. In order to construct an automatic analysis process, the multidisciplinary analysis models, such as modal analysis, roll mode dynamic analysis, and fatigue analysis, were equipped as batch mode. To understand a design space, the parametric study using torsion beam thickness and shape was executed. Considering the roll durability and K&C characteristics, a torsion beam axle could be optimized. For the automatic design process, the PIDO tool, called as P.I.A.n.O., are utilized. In conclusions, we could reduce a computer-aided simulation time and enhance the durability and K&C characteristics of torsion beam by optimizing thickness and shape.

This research proposes a design process considering uncertainties to obtain optimal hardpoints and bush stiffness coefficients of the automotive suspension systems. To execute the kinematic and compliance analysis of the suspension system, we utilizes ADAMS/Car model of the McPherson strut type front suspension system. The proposed design process consists of 3 steps. The first step is to define the uncertainties. In this step, the properties of automotive parts are considered as random variables. To randomize their nonlinear properties, the engineering sense is needed. The second step is to analyze the influence on suspension system uncertainties. The final step is to optimize the hardpoints considering random variables. In this research, all design studies are executed by the FRAMAX, it is one of the PIDO tools. In conclusion, the design process under uncertainties is proposed and is applied on the automotive suspension system. As a result, the optimal hardpoints and bush stiffness coefficients can be obtained to satisfy target reliabilities of the design requirements.

This study introduces the Reliability-Based Design Optimization(RBDO) to enhance the kinematic and compliance (K & C) characteristics of automotive suspension system. In previous studies, the deterministic optimization has been performed to enhance the K & C characteristics. Unfortunately, uncertainties in the real world have not been considered in the deterministic optimization. In the design of suspension system, design variables with the uncertainties, such as the bushing stiffness, have a great influence on the variation of the suspension performances. There is a need to quantify these uncertainties and to apply the RBDO to obtain the design, satisfying the target reliability level. In this research, design variables including uncertainties are dealt as random variables and reliability of the suspension performances, which are related the K & C characteristics, are quantified and the RBDO is performed. The RBD-optimum is compared with the deterministic optimum to verify the enhancement in reliability. Thus, the reliability of the suspension performances is estimated and the RBD-optimum, satisfying the target reliability level, is determined.
