관광행동 시 관광객이 관광지의 경제․환경․사회․문화에 혜택을 주는 책임관광을 하기 위해서는 관광객 개인의 책임 있는 관광 행동이 요구된다. 기존의 관광산업과 관광객 중심의 관광 패턴에서 벗어나 관광과 관련한 모든 주체자들의 이익을 도모하기 위한 책임관광 시대로의 전환이 필요하게 되었다. 따라서 관광객들의 책임관광 행동에 대한 이해가 필요하며 이를 위해서는 일차적으로 관광객의 책임관광 행동 의사결정과정은 어떻게 진행되며, 관광객들은 책임관광의 어떤 신념과 속성에 의하여 영향을 받으며 그 영향력은 얼마 만큼인지에 대한 연구가 필요한 시점이라고 할 수 있다.
따라서 본 연구의 목적은 계획 행동이론 모형의 틀 안에서 관광객의 경제․환경․사회․문화적 책임관광에 대한 이론적 모형을 제시하고 제시된 모형이 관광객들의 경제․환경․사회․문화적 책임관광에 대한 태도 및 행동의도의 관계를 나타내는 모형으로 적합한지 검증하였다. 이를 통해 관광객이 관광을 할 때 경제적․환경적․사회적․문화적 책임관광 활동과 관련하여 각각 구체적으로 어떠한 신념과 속성을 지니고 있으며, 그 영향력의 정도는 얼마큼인지를 연구해 보았다.
본 연구의 제안 모델을 검증하기 위해 AMOS 4.0 프로그램을 이용하여 신뢰도 검증과 구성개념간의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 확인적 요인분석을, 관광객의 태도․주관적 규범․지각된 행동 통제와 책임관광 행동의도간의 가설검증을 위해 구조방정식 분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 실증적 분석 결과, 경제․환경․사회․문화적 책임관광에 대한 각각의 행위신념과 결과평가의 곱은 태도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로, 규범신념과 순응동기의 곱은 주관적 규범에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로, 통제신념과 지각된 영향의 곱은 지각된 행동통제에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로, 태도는 책임관광 행동의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로, 주관적 규범은 책임관광 행동의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로, 지각된 행동 통제는 책임관광 행동의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 책임관광에 대한 태도나 지각통제 개념보다는 주관적 규범이 각각의 책임관광 행동의도에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
본 연구의 이론 및 실증적 분석결과를 중심으로 다음과 같은 시사점을 제시할 수 있다. 첫째, 관광객의 책임관광에 대한 신념, 태도, 주관적 규범, 지각된 행동통제는 경제․환경․사회․문화적 책임관광 행동의도에 영향을 미친다는 사실이다. 둘째, 책임관광 행동의도에 정의 영향관계를 미치는 신념들을 바탕으로 이들 신념들이 적절히 조화된 상품을 개발 할 수 있다. 셋째, 본 연구에서 검증된 관광객의 책임관광 행동의도를 결정하는데 있어 중요하게 생각하는 준거 인이 누군가에 대한 결과는 여행업계가 마케팅 및 홍보활동을 펼칠 때 참고할 수 있는 기준을 마련해 준다. 넷째, 관광객이 책임관광 행동을 하고자 할 때 실제로 어떠한 요소에 의해서 동기화되는지 파악이 가능하여 상품화 전략 수립에 도움이 될 것으로 판단된다.
따라서 여행 업 경영자 및 관리자들은 각 관광객의 특성에 맞는 책임관광 전략을 수립해야 할 것이며, 관광객들의 효과적인 책임관광 수행을 위해 노력을 기울여야 할 것이다. 또한 정부차원의 책임관광 캠페인 전개를 통해 전 국민적 운동으로 확산될 수 있는 교육 및 프로그램을 개발하고 지속가능 한 관광의 실현을 위한 책임관광 활성화에 관광과 관련한 모든 주체자들의 노력이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

When traveling, a tourist is required to have a responsible behavior for responsible tourism that gives economic, environmental, social and cultural benefits to tourism destination.
The transition is inevitable from the existing tourism industry and the tourist-centered pattern to the new era of interest sharing in all tourism participants with responsibility.
Therefore, we need to understand tourists' responsible tourism behavior, the first, in order for study how progressed decision making process of tourists' responsible tourism behavior, which beliefs and factors of responsible tourism have influenced tourists' behavior and that power of influence.
Therefore, this study lays its purpose on proposing the theoretical model about tourists' economic, environmental, social and cultural responsible tourism within the theory of planned behavior, and then verifying whether proposed model is suitable for explaining tourists' responsible tourism behavior. Subsequently, this study keeps it focus on examining which beliefs and factors are related with tourists' economic, environmental, social and cultural responsible activities and how deep the degree of influence is.
In order to verify a proposed model in this study, the AMOS 4.0 program was used for confirmation factor analysis for verifying reliability and validity and structural equation modeling for verifying hypothesis on the relationship between tourists' attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control and responsible tourism behavioral intention.
As a result of the empirical analysis in this study, it was found that the multiplication of tourists’ behavioral beliefs by each outcomes on economic, environmental, social and cultural responsible tourism has a positive effect on their attitude, that the multiplication of tourists' normative beliefs by motivation to comply has a positive effect on their subjective norm, that the multiplication of tourists' control beliefs by perceived power has a positive effect on their perceived behavioral control, that the subjective norm is the most powerful factor which affects each responsible tourism behavioral intention.
The researcher can suggest the following implications based on the results from the theoretical and empirical analysis in this study. First, tourists' beliefs, attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control about responsible tourism affect economic, environmental, social and cultural responsible tourism behavioral intention. Second, based on the beliefs which affect positively responsible tourism behavioral intention can be properly coordinated product development. Third, in this study, the result who the most important referent in determining responsible tourism behavioral intention is will be helpful for travel industry to prepare reference standard when it comes to marketing and promotional activities. Forth, it was found that when tourists try to act responsible tourism behavior, as we can figure out which factors motivate tourists' behavior, we can use this for commercialization strategies.
Accordingly, the owners and managers of travel agency are required to establish the responsible tourism strategy properly for each tourist's characteristics, and make efforts in order for tourists to perform effective responsible tourism. In addition, government is required to establish the program for education nationwide to develop the responsible tourism campaign, and in order to realize sustainable tourism, all tourism related people should effort for activation of responsible tourism.
