초등학교와 중학교 체육과 교육과정 경쟁 활동영역의 연계성 탐색 = Curriculum Continuity Between Elementary and Secondary PE Invasion Games

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the curricular continuity between elementary and secondary PE invasion games in light of curriculum texts and curriculum implementation. Data collected from document analysis, interviews with teachers, and fieldnotes from class observations were analyzed inductively. Findings revealed that there were discontinuities between elementary and secondary PE invasion games in contents and representation styles of PE textbooks despite explicit emphasis on curricular continuity in official curriculum documents. Findings also revealed that there were transition gaps between elementary and secondary PE because elementary PE places child at the center of curriculum implementation while secondary PE emphasizes PE subject and sport skills rather than individual students. To enhance curricular continuity, the National Curriculum of Physical Education should clarify meanings and criteria of curricular continuity and also seek active exchanges among elementary and secondary PE teachers through teacher professional development programs.
