This dissertation discusses the networkness focusing on grammar fileds in Korean language departments (of universities). First of all, it expands the existing concept of networkness, defining networkness as a characteristic that makes the components of more than two targets have interrelationship through a certain medium and act like a single component in the course of conducting Korean language education.
This study sets up systemicity, sequence and integration as the components of netwrokness. Firstly, systemicity is a component of networkness that structures the relationships of individual elements in the whole, based on certain criteria, enabling them to maintain constant order, form a single structure, and function as an interlinked unit. Sequence is defined as a characteristic that the following learning experience, not the previous one, should be intensified rather than simply repeated, when important contents appear repeatedly. Finally, the concept of integration is defined as a feature that connects the related elements in different areas, making it act as a single unit.
In addition, it proposes learner-centered principle as the primary principle of the dominant agent who enables to form networkness, and presents teaching-learning efficiency, applicability, and descriptive appropriateness as sub-principles. It additionally proposes internal and external netwroking together with the existing vertical and horizontal networking as networkness formation methods, considering the netwroking phenomenon inside and outside of the target, and claims that networking phenomenon occurs complexly.
It also discusses netwroking elements linking different targets in order to establish theoretical foundation for the experiment of netwroking levels among the targets. Firstly, contents netwroking elements, cohesion and difficulty, are examined. Cohesion is an element that enables the contents of the target to be closely connected topically, securing netwrokness, and difficulty creates netwrokness among the targets by distinguishing the target contents by stage depending on wether they are easy or difficult. Next, this study suggests coherence and formationity as formal netwroking elements. Coherence is an element enabling networking among the targets through the format of the target corresponding to the cohesion which is a contents networking element that secures the networkness through the topical connection of the contents. Formationity is a networking element forming networkness among the elements or targets while the elements composing a target combine and form a new structure, or the target and its components combine and create another structure.
Finally, the study measures the level of networking using statistical method when the grammar and composition fields are linked. First of all, networking levels are realized specifically by networking elements, and networking is divided into internal and external depending on the relationships among the targets, which is designated as the primary variable in the hypothesis accordingly. On the other hand, each networking element is divided into contents and format conditions depending on the attributes of the target, the secondary variable. The study determined the ranks of networking level, considering these variables. According to the ranks of these variables, the paper set a hypothesis of the primary networking level rank and the secondary networking level rank. Each component of networking level in the secondary networking level rank, in turn, was divided into five levels. On the basis of these divisions, a questionaire was made where 52 Korean language experts were asked to give from one to five points to cohesion, coherence, difficulty, and formationity, displayed in the networking targets, through 8 questions. Netwroking level of each question was calculated on the basis of the survey outcome and the table of networking levels through statistical analysis. In addition, the study conducted T-test on internal-external, and contents-format networking to verify the hypothesis, deriving higher than 95% of deviation between the two groups, which is a trustworthy and statistically meaningful number. However, the result was the opposite to the networking level ranks proposed by the hypothesis, which can be interpreted that the levels of external and format networking are higher than internal and contents networking respectively. In conclusion, the average score of the networking level between grammar and composition fields was 22.42, which is a 'high' level.
