한국 전문대학 영어학습자들의 영어학습전략 분석과 학습인지양식에 따른 영어 수업선호도 연구 = An Analysis on English Learning Strategies, Cognitive Styles, and Class Preferences of Korean Junior College Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was planned to explore Korean junior college English learners` language strategies, cognitive styles, and class preferences which are importantly considered in English language education. To recognize the three points given in this study, the survey was conducted. The questionnaire for the survey covers three parts: mainly, learners` language learning strategies, learners` cognitive styles, and learners` preferences. 105 Korean junior college English learners were targeted and they had official English proficiency test score (TOEIC Speaking Test). The responses were analyzed by groups, and there were significant differences related to learning strategies and class preferences among the respondents. First, related to learning strategies, significant differences among groups were captured: 0.000 (Cognitive Strategies, p<0.05)/ 0.000(Affective Strategies, p<0.05)/0.003(Social Strategies, p<0.05). Regarding learning preferences, it was found that English Foreign Language(EFL) learners consider ``Interest in English`` and ``Speaking Skill`` important and they prefer joining in more than 2 hours class study which uses multimedia learning tools. Thus, the finding of this study suggests that teachers should encourage learners to know how to use all language strategies equally and to encourage the learners to be self-regulated learners by providing the effective classes considering their learning cognitive styles and preferences.
