상담자 자기효능감 척도 개발 = Development and validation of the Counselor Self-Efficacy Scales

The purpose of this study was to develop the Counselor Self-Efficacy Scale(CSES) and to validate it. This study was involved took three steps. First, 111 preliminary item were developed based on theoretical literature, open-ended questions and interviews. Second, to verify the content validity, 3 experts rated those items and eliminated 8 items based on the judgements of counseling psychologists. Third, the scale consisting of 103 items was administered to samples of 250 counselors who were working at university counseling centers, local youth counseling centers, and private counseling facilities in 16 cities and provinces. Datas were collected from 250 samples, and 50 samples of them were eliminated based on response dishonesty. Finally, the datas of 200 samples were collected, and items of the scale were further reduced to 44 items based on item-scale correlation and factor extraction. Factor analysis showed evidence of construct validity of the scale. Three factors were extracted from the factor analysis. Factor 1(19 items) implies ‘counseling skill self-efficacy’, factor 2(13 items) implies ‘counseling attitude self-efficacy’, factor 3(12 items) implies ‘counseling coping with crises self-efficacy’. Internal consistency(Cronbach's α) of total score showed .960 and Cronbach's α of 3 subfactors demonstrated .893-.943. To verify the convergent validity and discriminant validity of the developed scales, the counselor wisdom scale and counselor burnout scale were administered. The result of the study indicated that the CSES scores positively and significantly correlated with the counselor wisdom scale, negatively and significantly correlated with the counselor burnout scale. Thus CSES demonstrated satisfactory convergent validity and discriminant validity. In addition, the limitation of study and the practical use of the CSES was discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 상담자의 상담 개입 능력에 대한 확신 정도를 측정할 수 있는 상담자 자기효능감 척도를 개발하고, 척도의 타당도와 신뢰도를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 선행 연구와 기존 도구의 고찰 및 상담자 50명의 자유개방형 설문 결과를 토대로 111문항의 1차 예비척도를 제작한 후, 국어교사 2명에게 문항 표현의 적절성을 검토 받고 상담심리전문가 3명에게 내용타당도를 검증받아 103문항의 2차 예비척도를 제작하였다. 이를 전국의 청소년상담지원센터, 개인상담소, 대학상담실에서 활동 중인 상담자 200명으로부터 자료를 수집하여 요인분석 등의 방법을 통해 최종적으로 3요인 44문항으로 구성된 상담자 자기효능감 척도를 개발하였다. 요인 1은 상담기술 자기효능감(19문항), 요인 2는 상담태도 자기효능감(13문항), 요인 3은 상담위기대처 자기효능감(12문항)으로 명명하였다. 개발된 척도의 전체 신뢰도는 .960이고, 요인 1은 .943, 요인 2는 .893, 요인 3은 .925로 전반적으로 높게 나타났다. 또한 구인타당도 검증을 위해 상담자 118명을 대상으로 상담자 자기효능감 척도와 상담자 지혜 척도 및 상담자 소진 척도 간의 상관을 알아보았다. 그 결과, 상담자 지혜 척도와는 .761로 .01 수준에서 통계적으로 유의한 정적 상관을, 상담자 소진 척도와는 -.692로 .01 수준에서 통계적으로 유의한 부적 상관을 보임으로써 수렴타당도와 변별타당도가 양호한 것으로 검증되었다. 아울러 본 연구에서 개발한 척도의 활용방안 및 연구의 제한점과 추후 연구과제를 논의하였다.
