작업동맹(working alliance)에 관한 국내 연구의 동향 = The Trends and Issues of Research on the Working Alliance in Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

상담 및 심리치료 연구에서 작업동맹은 다양한 심리치료 접근에서 중요한 치료적 요인이면서 동시에 상담의 성과와 관련되는 중요한 요인중 하나로서 오랫동안 관심의 주제가 되어 왔으며, 작업동맹과 상담 효과와의 관계에 대한 연구들 또한 꾸준히 이루어져 왔다. 본 연구의 목적은 국내에서 지금까지 이루어진 작업동맹 연구의 경향을 분석함으로써, 연구의 흐름과 성과를 정리하고 앞으로 초점을 두어야 할 연구의 방향을 살펴보는 데 있다. 작업동맹을 주제로 국내에서 이루어진 전문학술지 논문 및 학위논문 88편을 대상으로 내용분석한 결과, 주제별 동향은 ‘작업동맹’을 과정변인으로 간주하고 다른 과정변인들과의 영향 관계를 살펴본 과정 연구가 가장 많은 것으로 나타났고, 방법별 동향은 상담 연구의 전체 동향과 마찬가지로 대부분이 양적연구에 치우쳐져 있었다. 작업동맹을 측정하는 도구로는 대부분의 연구가 WAI(Working Alliance Inventory)를 사용하고 있었고, 작업동맹과의 영향관계를 살펴본 관련 변인들로는 내담자 변인이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로, 이러한 작업동맹 연구의 경향을 분석한 결과를 바탕으로 연구에 대한 시사점과 후속연구에 대한 제언을 추가하였다.

The working alliance has been of primary interest in counseling and psychotherapy research for several decades. Many researchers have consistently documented that the working alliance is a key predictor of good outcomes in counseling and psychotherapy. The purpose of the present study is to examine the trends of and issues in research about the working alliance in Korea up to date, and to propose directions for further study. For this end, eighty eight studies about the working alliance, published from 1992 to February 2010 were examined according to the research topics, subjects of study, research methods (i.e., measurements, quantitative, or qualitative research methodology), and conceptually related variables with the working alliance. Based on the findings in this study, current issues in the researches and implications for the future research are discussed.
