학업적 자기효능감과 학과적응 간의 관계에서 결과기대의 매개효과 검증 = Mediating Effect of Outcome Expectations in the Relationship of Academic Self-Efficacy to Major Adjustment of College Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explored the effect of academic self-efficacy and outcome expectations on the college students' major adjustment and the mediating effects of outcome expectations in the relationship of academic self-efficacy to major adjustment of college students. We surveyed 365 university students on measures of academic self-efficacy, outcome expectations and major adjustment. Result indicated that academic self-efficacy and outcome expectations were effective in predicting students' major adjustment and academic self-efficacy was more effective variable than outcome expectations. In addition, results in multiple regression analyses showed that outcome expectations mediated the effect of academic self-efficacy on college students' major adjustment. So it needs to intervene upon academic self-efficacy and outcome expectations in order to increase college students' major adjustment. Especially it is important to find ways to increase the academic self-efficacy. Implications for career and academic counseling practice and future research are discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대학생의 학과적응에 영향을 미치는 주요 변인으로 학업적 자기효능감과 결과기대를 설정하고, 학업적 자기효능감과 결과기대가 학과적응에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 그리고 학업적 자기효능감과 학과적응 간의 관계에서 결과기대가 매개역할을 하는지를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 대학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 총 365명의 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 학업적 자기효능감과 결과기대는 학과적응에 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학과적응에 대한 상대적인 영향력은 학업적 자기효능감이 결과기대보다 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 학과적응의 각 하위요인에 대한 학업적 자기효능감과 결과기대의 상대적인 영향력도 이와 일치하는 결과를 보였다. 학업적 자기효능감과 결과기대 모두 학과선택 만족, 학업수행 만족, 진로목표의 안정성에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 이 중 학업적 자기효능감이 결과기대보다 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 결과기대는 학업적 자기효능감과 학과적응 간의 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 학업적 자기효능감이 학과적응에 직접적인 영향을 줄 뿐 아니라, 결과기대를 통해 간접적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미한다. 즉 학업적 자기효능감이 높아지면 학업수행의 결과에 대해 보다 긍정적으로 인식하게 되고, 이러한 인식이 학과적응을 촉진하게 된다는 것을 의미한다. 또한 대학생의 학과적응을 높이는 데는 학업적 자기효능감에 대한 개입이 더 큰 효과가 있다는 것을 시사한다. 따라서 대학생의 학과적응을 촉진하기 위해서는 학업적 자기효능감과 결과기대에 대한 개입이 필요하지만, 특히 학업적 자기효능감을 증진시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 것이 더욱 중요하다고 하겠다. 본 연구의 제한점 및 후속 연구 방향은 논의에서 다루었다.
