      • Effect of Business Model on Financial Performance of Information Technology Industry Based on Securities Analyst’s View

        We propose a multi-dimensional typology of business model based on information technology industry. In order to study the effect of business model on financial performance, we analyze public companies data of information technology industry by variance analysis method. The empirical results show that business model is the important influence factor of financial performance and business model has different effect on different aspect of financial performance. The final evaluation results show that the effect of business model has relation with its elements and some models have better financial performance than others.

        Accelerating Distance Transform Image based Hand Detection using CPU-GPU Heterogeneous Computing

        Most of the existing hand detection methods rely on the contour shape of hand after skin color segmentation. Such contour shape based computations, however, are not only susceptible to noise and other skin color segments but also inherently sequential and difficult to efficiently parallelize. In this paper, we implement and accelerate our in-house distance image based approach using CPU-GPU heterogeneous computing. Using emerging CPU-GPU heterogeneous computing technology, we achieved 5.0 times speed-up for 320x240 images, and 17.5 times for 640x480 images and our experiment demonstrates that our proposed distance image based hand detection is robust and fast, reaching up to 97.32% palm detection rate, 80.4% of which have more than 3 fingers detected on commodity processors.

        Multifunctional, Hydrophobic and Flame-retarded Cotton Fabrics Modified with Liner Piperzine/Phosphorous/Polysiloxane Copolymer

        α,ω-di[(4-butoxy-piperazin-1-yl)-phosphinic acid methyl ether]-terminated linear polysiloxane (PNPDMS) was synthesized and utilized as the flame retardant and hydrophobing agent. The flame retardance and thermal decomposition behaviors of cotton fabrics were systematically estimated by limiting oxygen index (LOI), thermogravimetric analysis and vertical burning test, respectively. It was found that the LOI of cotton fabric treated with PNPDMS enhanced to 29.82 % compared with cotton fabric without treatment, whose LOI was only 18.00 %. The treated cotton fabric showed a shorter char length, a shorter After-flame time, and no After-glow time as revealed in vertical burning test. The mechanical property in treated cotton fabric was slightly decrease. Furthermore, the grade of water repellency of treated cotton fabric reached to 90 and water contact angle (WCA) increased to 141.90 o compared with cotton fabric without treatment whose WCA was 62.80 o. The result showed that the cotton fabric treated with PNPDMS exhibited excellent flame retardance and hydrophobic properties.

      • Design and Implementation of Teaching System for Mobile Cross-platform

        With the development of mobile intelligent terminal, the mobile learning has become an efficient way to learn. However, there are a few work related to the mobile learning system construction in current China. This paper proposed a novel method based mobile cross-platform to construct the learning system, which can be used for teachers to teach and students to learn whenever and wherever. To meet the demand of the cross-platform and multi-terminal, we use the mobile Internet, the HTML5, the Responsive Web Design technology, and the MVC technology architecture. Experimental results show that the proposed method can work effectively and can be widely used in the teaching system.

        Whole genome sequencing of Luxi Black Head sheep for screening selection signatures associated with important traits

        Objective: Luxi Black Head sheep (LBH) is the first crossbreed specialized for meat production and was developed by crossbreeding Black Head Dorper sheep (DP) and Small Tailed Han sheep (STH) in the farming areas of northern China. Research on the genomic variations and selection signatures of LBH caused by continuous artificial selection is of great significance for identifying the genetic mechanisms of important traits of sheep and for the continuous breeding of LBH.Methods: We explored the genetic relationships of LBH, DP, and several Mongolian sheep breeds by constructing phylogenetic tree, principal component analysis and linkage disequilibrium analysis. In addition, we analysed 29 whole genomes of sheep. The genomewide selection signatures have been scanned with four methods: heterozygosity (HP), fixation index (FST), cross-population extended haplotype homozygosity (XP-EHH) and the nucleotide diversity (θπ) ratio.Results: The genetic relationships analysis showed that LBH appeared to be an independent cluster closer to DP. The candidate signatures of positive selection in sheep genome revealed candidate genes for developmental process (HoxA gene cluster, BCL2L11, TSHR), immunity (CXCL6, CXCL1, SKAP2, PTK6, MST1R), growth (PDGFD, FGF18, SRF, SOCS2), and reproduction (BCAS3, TRIM24, ASTL, FNDC3A). Moreover, two signalling pathways closely related to reproduction, the thyroid hormone signalling pathway and the oxytocin signalling pathway, were detected.Conclusion: The selective sweep analysis of LBH genome revealed candidate genes and signalling pathways associated with developmental process, immunity, growth, and reproduction. Our findings provide a valuable resource for sheep breeding and insight into the mechanisms of artificial selection.

        Structural Improvement of Vehicle Component Based on the Load Path and Load Distribution Analysis

        Load path as a new analysis tool has been widely used in structural design and assessment of load-bearing performance, but it still lacks effective guidance for structural improvement. In this paper, a new structural improvement method of vehicle component based on the load path and load distribution analysis is proposed. Firstly, according to the structural function and design requirements, the potential regions and parameters need to be optimized are identified based on the load path and load distribution analysis using Ustar and U*sum indexes. Secondly, taking the smoother Ustar on the load path and more effective use of the materials as the design criteria, the optimization suggestions are given. Then, as a case study, a safety hook on an automobile is redesigned and the new structure is compared with the original design. The results show that the Ustar becomes smoother and U*sum becomes more uniform. In addition, the stiffness and strength of the safety hook are improved by 25.29 % and 23.44 %, respectively. Finally, the failure tests show that the ultimate load of the safety hook is enhanced by 13.72 %. The method provides clear and effective guidance for structural improvement from the perspective of load path and load distribution.

        Preparation and properties of ceramic coating on Q235 carbon steel by plasma electrolytic oxidation

        Ceramic coating was achieved on Q235 carbon steel by PEO (plasma electrolytic oxidation, PEO) without any pretreatment in sodium aluminate system. The discharge process as well as the accompanied surface morphology evolution was analyzed. The phase and elemental composition of the coatings were also investigated. The corrosion, mechanical and tribological properties of the ceramic coating were primarily studied. It is found that the coating surface was porous and the thickness of the coating was about 120 lm. The coating mainly consisted of FeAl2O4, Fe3O4 and a little c-A12O3. The corrosion current of the coated sample was 3.082 × 10-7 A/㎠, which was decreased by two orders of magnitude compared with the uncoated one. The micro hardness of the ceramic coating was 1210 Hv, which was about three times as that of the uncoated sample. The friction coefficient of coated sample was also well improved. Investigations revealed that PEO provided a promising technique for preparation of protective ceramic coatings on steels.         The role of nuclear energy in the correction of environmental pollution: Evidence from Pakistan

        The global warming phenomenon emerges from the issue of climate change, which attracts the attention of intellectuals towards clean energy sources from dirty energy sources. Among clean sources, nuclear energy is getting immense attention among policymakers. However, the role of nuclear energy in pollution emissions reduction has remained inconclusive and demand for further investigation. Therefore, the current study contributes to extend knowledge by investigating the nexus between nuclear energy, economic growth, and CO<sub>2</sub> emissions in a developing country context such as Pakistan for the period between 1973 and 2017. The auto-regressive distributive lag model summarizes the nuclear energy has negative effect on environmental pollution as it releases carbon emission in the environment. Moreover, vector error correction Granger causality provides evidence for bidirectional causality between nuclear energy and carbon emissions. These interesting findings provide new insight, and policy guidelines provided based on these results.
