This paper proposes an axial–radial flux hybrid excitation permanent magnet eddy current coupling (HE-PMEC), where the ferrite magnet is employed for producing the radial flux and the DC excitation current is adopted for producing the axial flux. Moreover, a shielding layer is developed to regulate the radial magnetic field. Its magnetic field distribution, electromagnetic performance, and temperature distribution are calculated based on the 3D finite element method (FEM). By adjusting the applied DC excitation current density and the insertion depth of the shielding layer, the variable current starting process, the variable current braking process, and the speed regulation characteristic of the proposed HE-PMEC are obtained. It can be seen that the starting process, braking process, and speed regulation ability of the HE-PMEC have been enhanced greatly. Furthermore, the copper ring shape of the HE-PMEC is optimized by using the proposed improved multilevel optimization method. It can be seen that the performance of the HE-PMEC can be improved by using the new optimized copper ring shape. Lastly, compared with the conventional PMECs, the proposed HE-PMEC has shown its superior electromagnetic performance.

Background: Dysimmunity plays a key role in diabetes, especially type 1 diabetes mellitus. Islet-specific autoantibodies (ISAs) have been used as diagnostic markers for different phenotypic classifications of diabetes. This study was aimed to explore the relationships between ISA titers and the clinical characteristics of diabetic patients. Methods: A total of 509 diabetic patients admitted to Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University were recruited. Anthropometric parameters, serum biochemical index, glycosylated hemoglobin, urinary microalbumin/creatinine ratio, ISAs, fat mass, and islet β-cell function were measured. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed to identify relationships between ISA titers and clinical characteristics. Results: Compared with autoantibody negative group, blood pressure, weight, total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), visceral fat mass, fasting C-peptide (FCP), 120 minutes C-peptide (120minCP) and area under C-peptide curve (AUCCP) of patients in either autoantibody positive or glutamate decarboxylase antibody (GADA) positive group were lower. Body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, triglycerides (TGs), body fat mass of patients in either autoantibody positive group were lower than autoantibody negative group. GADA titer negatively correlated with TC, LDL-C, FCP, 120minCP, and AUCCP. The islet cell antibody and insulin autoantibody titers both negatively correlated with body weight, BMI, TC, TG, and LDL-C. After adjusting confounders, multiple linear regression analysis showed that LDL-C and FCP negatively correlated with GADA titer. Conclusion: Diabetic patients with a high ISA titer, especially GADA titer, have worse islet β-cell function, but less abdominal obesity and fewer features of the metabolic syndrome.
A comparative study of the thimble culture of China and South Korea from an artistic perspective
Xiao, Shiwei,Zhang, Yan,Zhang, Wencui,성동권 한국문화산업학회 2024 문화산업연구 Vol.24 No.1
The Chinese thimble was first discovered in a Neolithic excavation before 10,000 AD, and a bone needle used by late Paleolithic mountainemen was also unearthed at the Zhoukoudian site in Beijing. In the Shang and Zhou dynasties, bronze cast needles appeared. Three Han Dynasty copper and silver thimble were unearthed in Tomb No.8, Xingyi City, Xingyi, China. In the Han Dynasty, hard iron needles and thimble cast with gold, silver and copper were widely used. Until the development of thimble in the Qing Dynasty reached its peak, the shape and pattern of the thimble reflected the level of craftsmanship and artistic appreciation of thimble. From the perspective of the timeline, the two countries were at the same period, and the Joseon era of South Korea, influenced by Chinese culture, had many similarities and differences in thimble, color and pattern design. In terms of cultural mutual reference and combination, the thimble of the Korean era has become the most representative of female arts and crafts products. Therefore, this paper uses the literature research method to compare the shape, color and pattern of thimble, and lists the pictures of thimble to illustrate the meaning of thimble in the two countries. This paper collects many historical materials and papers to interpret the charm and inheritance of the boudoir culture of Korea and China, and explores the long history of the two neighboring countries under the Confucian ideology and culture. I hope that this study can provide a reference for the thimble culture in the traditional boudoir culture of Korea and China.
The Relationship between Carbohydrate Translocation and the LeaftoFruit Ratio in Walnut Trees
Cuifang Zhang,Cunde Pan,Hong Chen,Shiwei Wang 한국원예학회 2020 원예과학기술지 Vol.38 No.3
This study determined the relationship between the leaftofruit ratio (LFR) and carbohydrate translocation in walnut tree. We artificially manipulated the LFR to analyze the specific mass transfer rate (SMTR), physical traits, carbohydrate content, and metabolismrelated enzyme activity in the carpopodium of girdled fruitbearing shoots with different LFRs. Our findings showed that when the same number of leaves was retained on the girdled shoots, the glucose content, acid invertase (AI) and sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) activity, SMTR, and phloem area (PA) increased significantly with decreasing LFR (p < 0.05), whereas the sucrose and starch content, carpopodium diameter growth rate (CDGR), and carpopodium length growth rate (CLGR) did not change significantly (p > 0.05). When the same number of fruits was retained on the girdled shoots, the glucose, sucrose and starch content, AI and SPS activity, SMTR, CLGR, and CDGR of the carpopodium increased significantly with increasing LFR (p < 0.01), whereas the PA and carpopodium length did not change significantly (p > 0.05). The above results suggested that the carbohydrate translocation was adjusted by regulating the carpopodium AI activity by changing the LFR in walnut shoots, while the amount of carbohydrate allocated to the carpopodium was determined by the availability of carbohydrates from the sources.

This study examined the Juglans regia ‘Xinxin2’ walnut variety using combined field control experiments with laboratory chemical analyses and analyzed the effects of the relationships among net photosynthetic rate (Pn), specific mass transfer rate (SMTR), nut dry mass (NDM), and nut yield per girdled fruit-bearing shoot (Yield) on the leaf-to-fruit ratio (LFR). We used comprehensive decision-making based on mathematical programming to determine the optimal LFR for this walnut variety in the peak fruiting stage. The optimal LFR was calculated as the comprehensive expected value of the linear combination among the equations for the effects of LFR on the Pn, SMTR, NDM, and Yield and was determined to be 2.02. Compared with walnut plants without LFR adjustment, the walnut plants with LFR adjustment using 2.02 as the minimum threshold had a 19.52% lower nut yield, a higher nut quality (Special Class, Class I, and Class II accounted for 100% of the nut yield per 670 m2), and a 36.22% higher economic output value per 670 m2. This study indicates that improving fruit quality to produce Grade I and II nuts will increase economic output, although the total yield will decrease when managing efficient LFR in nut production.
