        A Study on the Efficiency of Chinaʼs Logistics Industry in Based on the DEA Model

        Considering economic development, the logistics industry has become an important part of a country's economy. This study chose CCR (Named after its developer Chames, Cooper and Rhodes) and BCC (Banker, Charnes and Cooper) models of DEA (data envelopment analysis) with DEAP 2.1, and analyzed the input-output efficiency based on China's 31 provinces and autonomous regions. Data were collected from China National Statistical Yearbook 2016. According to the research results, the scale efficiency of China's logistics industry has maintained a high point but it's poor technical efficiency has become a bottleneck of the development for comprehensive efficiency. Each economic region has redundant constructions at different degrees and among them, the Eastern and Central regions have the most construction redundancies and waste resources. Eastern region should make rational use of existing resources while Central region must establish integrated logistics bases. Western and Northeast region are most benefited by fixed assessment investment under the promotion policies. Combined transportation can be considered based on Western region's situation.         DEA 모델을 이용한 중국 물류 산업의 효율성 분석에 관한 연구

        경제 발전에 따라서 물류산업이 한 나라 경제에 중요한 부분 되었다. 본 논문은 DEA 모델에서 CCR과 BCC 모델을 선택하고 DEAP 2.1을 사용하여 중국의 31 개 성 과 자치구의 투입-산출 효율성을 분석하였다. 2016 년 중국 통계청에 발표한 데이터를 사용하여 분석 결과에 따르면 현제 중국 물류 산업은 높은 규모 효율성을 보이지만 낮은 기술 효율성은 물류 산업의 종합 발전에서 병목 현상이 되고 있다. 중국 4개 경제지역 에는 다소간의 불필요한 건설과 맹목적인 투자 현상을 보인다. 동부 지역은 기존 자원을 합리적으로 사용해야하며 중부 지역은 통합 물류 기지를 설립해야한다. 서부 및 동북부 지역의 물류 개발은 국가 지원 정책의 혜택을 입었다. 복합 운송은 서부 지역의 상황에 따라 고려 될 수 있다.         A Study of the Impacts on Electronic Distribution Industry after Korea-China FTA

        Purpose - This study attempted to discover the impact of the Korea-China FTA(Free Trade Agreement) on electronic products distribution industry. Strategies will be provided to expand both countries' trade after the Korea-China FTA. Research design, data, and methodology - This study analyzed the differences before and after the Korea-China FTA, using an RCA(Revealed Comparative Advantage) index, TC(Technology Sophistication Index) index and TSI(Trade Specialization Index) that considered the FTA tariff situation. Data was collected from the International Trade Statistics Database and Korea, China Customs Service. Results - The results indicate that following the Korea-China FTA, China and Korea’s bilateral trade of electronic products is expected to expand, and both countries will experience net welfare gains from the markets’ expansion. Korea is competitive in several key products, although it faces competition from China. China's electronic products' competitiveness have indicated an increasing trend. Conclusions - The two countries should closely cooperate and communicate with each other. Ultimately, Korea should focus on high-tech, sophisticated techniques to gain market advantage. On the other hand, with the tariff decrease as well as the labor cost and labor force base, China will greatly be able to benefit from the manufacturing of medium- to low-end products in the future.

      • Process and product innovarions in vertically differentiated markets with network externalities

        We analyze product and process innovations in a vertically differentiated duopoly in market with externalities. Through assuming process innovation reduces marginal cost and product innovation improves product quality, we find that;(i) product and process innovations are complements (resp.substitutes) for the firm with low (resp. high) quality when the intensity of network externality is small; (ii) process innovation affects product innovation more intensely when exists network externality than not;(iii) network externality makes process R&D (resp. aggregate process R&D) outcome affected by the parameter of product innovation cost ;(iv) aggregate process R&D outcome in industry increases with network intensity; (v) the firm with higher initial efficiency invests more in process innovation and will obtain more demand and profit than the rival in equilibrium.

        Synthesis and characterization of polysilane with double bonds by an electrochemical method

        Polysilanes with double bonds have been synthesized by the electroreduction of trichloromethylsilane and allyl chloride in a single compartment cell. The polymers have been characterized using FTIR, GPC and 1H NMR. The effects of monomer ratio, monomer concentration, electrode materials, the electrode’s interval time and the amount of electricity supplied were investigated. The results indicate that the ideal molar ratio of MeSiCl3/allyl chloride is 3:1 with a Mg electrode material. The molecular weight and yield of polysilanes became higher with an increase of the charge passed, a shortening of the electrode’s interval time, and a decrease of the monomer concentration.

      • Overexpression of Cyclooxygenase-1 Correlates with Poor Prognosis in Renal Cell Carcinoma

        The aim of this study was to evaluate expression of COX-1 in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and its prognostic value. mRNA of COX-1 was detected in 42 paired RCC and adjacent normal tissues with quantitative realtime polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Expression of COX-1 was also evaluated in 196 RCC sections and 91 adjacent normal tissues with immunohistochemistry. Statistical analysis was performed to assess COX-1 expression in RCC and its prognostic significance. The results of qRT-PCR showed mRNA levels of COX-1 in RCC tissues to be significantly higher than that in adjacent normal tissues (p < 0.001). Immunohistochemical assays also revealed COX-1 to be overexpressed in RCC tissues (p < 0.001). Statistical analysis demonstrated high expression of COX-1 was correlated with tumour size (p = 0.002), pathological stage (p = 0.003), TNM stage (p = 0.003, 0.007, 0.027, respectively), and tumour recurrence (p < 0.001). Survival analysis indicated patients with high expression of COX-1 had shorter survival time (p < 0.001), and COX-1 was an independent predictor. This is the first study to reveal overexpression of COX-1 in RRC and point to use as a prognostic marker in affected patients.

        Test Method for Determination of Optimum Moisture Content of Soil and Maximum Dry Density

        A method for accurately determining the optimum water content of soil and the corresponding maximum dry density has been developed using a small number of soil samples, based on the physical parameters of the confined compression modulus of soil. The peak value of the compression modulus on the force-compression modulus curve is used to determine the optimum moisture content and maximum dry density. The proposed method is validated using four different types of soils: Qinghai-Tibet clay, SiO2-clay, Lanzhou loess, and Qinghai-Tibet sand soil. The results show that as opposed to conventional compaction methods, the new method allows for accurate determination of the optimum water content and the maximum dry density for various types of soil. Additionally, for certain moisture contents, when the compaction of soil is the greatest, clay and SiO2-clay attain the theoretical saturation status, whereas sand soil and loess do not.

      • Epigenetic Regulation of miR-129-2 Leads to Overexpression of PDGFRa and FoxP1 in Glioma Cells

        miR-129-2 is frequently downregulated in multiple cancers. However, how it is silenced in cancers remains unclear. Here we investigated the expression profile and potential biological function of miR-129-2 in glioblastoma (GBM), the most common and lethal form of brain tumors in adults. We showed that miR-129-2 is lost in GBM patient specimens and cultured cell lines. miR-129-2 expression could be restored upon treatment with a histone deadetylase inhibitor (trichostatin A) but not a DNA methylation inhibitor (5-Aza-2'-deoxycytidine), and more profound effect was observed with the treatment of these two drugs in combination. Furthermore, forced expression of miR-129-2 repressed the expression of major oncogenic genes such as PDGFRa and Foxp1 in GBMs. Consistently, expression of miR-129-2 significantly inhibits GBM cell proliferation in vitro. These results reveal that miR-129-2 is epigenetically regulated and functions as a tumor suppressor gene in GBMs, suggesting it may serve as a potential therapeutic target for GBM treatment.

        Characterization of Vaginal Microbiota Associated with Pregnancy Outcomes of Artificial Insemination in Dairy Cows

        The profitability of the dairy and beef industries is largely affected by the actually achieved reproductive efficiency. Although a large proportion of cows worldwide are bred by artificial insemination (AI) services, many potential factors affecting the outcome of pregnancy by AI remain to be addressed. In the present study, we investigated the vaginal microbiota by high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA gene and analyzed their association with differential pregnancy outcomes (i.e., pregnant vs. nonpregnant) of multiple AI services in dairy cows. Sequencing of the V3-V4 region totally produced 512,046 high-quality sequences that were computationally clustered into 2,584 operational taxonomic units (OTUs). All OTUs were taxonomically assigned to 10 bacterial phyla. There were statistically significant differences among the three AI service times (T1, T2 and T3) with respect to the Shannon index and number of observed OTUs (p < 0.05). Bray-Curtis distance-based PCoA analysis also revealed that T2 group could be significantly distinguished from T1 and T3. However, no significant difference between the pregnant and nonpregnant cows was found in confidence regarding both alpha diversity and beta diversity. These results could help us better understand the possible influence of vaginal microbial community on pregnancy outcomes of AI service in cows.

        Stable Cu-Co/C carbon-based composites for efficiency catalytic degradation of Orange II by PMS: Effect factors, application potential analysis, and mechanism

        Carbon-based metallic catalysts (CMCs) have emerged as efficient materials for removing water contaminants,but preparing CMCs with high efficiency and stability remains a great challenge. In this study, weprepared a bimetallic composite of Cu-Co/C catalyst via a gelation and calcination method to degradeOrange II by activating peroxymonosulfate (PMS). The characterization results demonstrated that thespecific surface area and pore size of Cu-Co/C catalysts were 1.675 m2/g and 6.313 nm, respectively,which can provide larger catalytic active sites for boosting PMS activation. Moreover, the effects of differentfactors on Orange II degradation efficiency, cyclic experiments, and possible application in realwater bodies were investigated. The Cu-Co/C catalyst can effectively activate PMS, and 50 mg/L ofOrange II was almost completely removed within 15 min. Additionally, the Cu-Co/C catalyst exhibitedhigh degradation efficiency for other organic dye pollutants. The radical quenching experiments indicatedthat the main active species for Cu-Co/C catalyzed degradation of Orange II were SO4and singlet oxygen(1O2). The catalyst demonstrated good stability and performance in real water bodies. We believe thatthis study will promote the application of carbon-based bimetallic catalysts in the environmental remediationprocess that utilize SO4based advanced oxidation.
