An investigation on the effect of open hole number and scheme on single-phase flow of a swirl flow bubble generator

Yuxue Wu,Hang Chen,Xingfu Song 한국화학공학회 2023 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.40 No.4

A swirl flow bubble generator with a unique adjustment scheme was developed to adapt to liquid feed flow rate variation. However, a study on the scheme and flow field of the bubble generator has not been reported in the literature. Particle image velocimetry and computational fluid dynamics were utilized to explore the flow field and adjustment scheme. The results showed that the standard k-ε model could more accurately describe the flow pattern than other turbulence models, and the pressure drop difference between experiments and simulations was less than 6%. A mathematical expression was established to quantitatively describe the relationship among the pressure drop, open hole number, and liquid flow rate. The pressure drop was proportional to the feed flow rate or inlet velocity square and inversely proportional to the power of 1.86 of the open hole number. Interestingly, the pressure drop of different open hole schemes with the same open hole number of 12 was close to 55 kPa. The spiral-bottom open hole schemes could provide a higher turbulent dissipation rate for both the vortex chamber and straight pipe section. This work can guide the bubble generator adjustment and fill the gap in this respect.

      • Research on the Communication Strategy of Film Assisted by Multiple Media from the Perspective of Media Convergence - Centered on the Film “Hidden in the Dust”

Yuxue Yang,Yu Gao,Haochen Wu KOREA INSTITUTE FOR HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES 2024 Journal of Arts and Cultural Studies(ACS) Vol.3 No.1

Background: In today's Internet era, the development of network technology and new media has enriched the transmission channels of film works. Since the birth of film, it is necessary to connect with its audience through media. The use of multiple media to help the transmission of film has entered the strategic level of film and television culture construction, and has become an important research direction for future development. Purpose: This paper aims to combine the current media fusion environment, provide the possibility of communication channel innovation and the lasting power of wide dissemination for excellent films, and study the development strategy of multi-media communication for film works. Methods: This paper uses literature research, case analysis and comparative research to analyze the important influence of multiple media on film communication. Results: The paper concludes that film communication should be audience-centered, multi-platform communication of new media, and a stable and clear communication system of domestic film culture under the global information background. Conclusion: Based on the research on the communication strategy of multi-media assisted film from the perspective of media convergence, this paper draws the following. Conclusions: 1) take the audience as the center; 2) The use of new media diversified information platforms for linkage communication; 3) Create a new pattern of perfect integration of new media technology and Chinese film international communication road. Taking the above three aspects as an important way to improve the dissemination scope and influence of Chinese realistic literary films and other excellent films.

A Modified Laminotomy for Interlaminar Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy: Technical Report and Preliminary Results

        Zhiyun Feng,Yuxu Wu,Honghao Wu,Tae Gyong Jon,Ying Yuan,Zhong Chen,Yue Wang 대한척추신경외과학회 2023 Neurospine Vol.20 No.4

Objective: To introduce a technique of laminotomy using a common trephine to enlarge the interlaminar space at L4/5 segment for interlaminar endoscopic lumbar discectomy (IELD) and report the anatomical basis of this procedure, technical details, as well as primary clinical outcomes of a consecutive patient cohort with L4/5 lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Methods: On anteroposterior fluoroscopy, the intersection of the medial edge of the inferior articular process and the inferior endplate of L4 vertebra was taken as the target. Using a common trephine, laminotomy was performed to remove a big portion of the posterior wall of the canal under the guidance of endoscopy. From June 2018 to December 2021, the consecutive patients who underwent L4/5 IELD were prospectively studied. Clinical outcomes were assessed at the day before surgery, 1 day, 1 month, 3 months, 12 months after surgery, and the last follow-up. Numerical Rating Scale, Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ), and MacNab criteria were used to evaluate back and leg pain, the quality of life, and clinical efficacy, respectively. Results: There were 64 men and 44 women, with an age of 50.3 ± 14.9 years. The operating time was 74.54 ± 17.42 minutes. The mean follow-up time was 32.7 ± 18.6 months (range, 12–64 months). The complications of IELD included numbness, neck pain, and recurrence. Both leg pain (6.2 ± 1.9 vs. 1.8 ± 0.8, p < 0.001) and back pain (3.1 ± 2.3 vs. 1.7 ± 0.9, p < 0.001) quickly improved after this procedure and maintained (1.1 ± 1.5, 1.1 ± 1.3) at final follow-up. Physical disability due to back pain, as assessed using RMDQ, was improved remarkably after surgery (15.0 ± 5.8 vs. 2.9 ± 4.1, p < 0.001). In addition, MacNab outcome grade was evaluated as good-to-excellent in 96 cases (88.9%). Conclusion: A convenient technique of laminotomy using a common trephine was proposed for the L4/5 IELD. It can efficiently enlarge the interlaminar entry to perform endoscopic discectomy. This procedure is particularly suitable for treating LDH with concomitant lumbar spinal stenosis and migrated herniated disc.
