Measurement and analysis of sound radiation from coherently vibrating shunt reactors

        Yuxing Wang,Ming Jin,Yanzhao Wang,B. Zhou,Jie Pan 대한기계학회 2019 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.33 No.1

In parallel with the rapid development of ultra-high voltage (UHV) power transmission systems, noise contamination radiated from UHV shunt reactors is becoming an urgent concern. This investigation explored the distributed structural vibration of reactors and their near-field and far-field sound radiation characteristics based on a thorough on-site measurement and a combined numerical method. The proposed method could realize sound field reconstruction of on-site shunt reactors by directly measuring their surface vibration, thus avoiding complex modelling with fluid-structure interactions and multi-physics problems. Furthermore, the combined method was utilized to investigate the effect of acoustical environments upon reactors’ sound radiation. The results show that reflection boundaries composed of firewalls among reactor units could introduce a higher noise level in the parallel radiation region due to their influence on the sound source directivity. Finally, the sound power levels of the on-site reactors were derived from the constructed sound field, which could avoid on-site background noise concerns in the current executive standards.

Highly selective magnetic polymer particles via molecular imprinting

        Xiaobing Wang,Guihua Qiu,Yi Ge,Wei Zheng,Lingmei Kong,Yajuan Xue,Bin Ren,YUXING PENG 한국화학공학회 2015 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.32 No.11

Magnetic hydrophilic molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) particles were successfully synthesized via an inverse suspension polymerization in silicone oil, by employing methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(MPS)-modified Fe3O4 nanoparticles as magnetic particles, 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) as template, hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) as hydrophilic monomer, and acetonitrile as high polar porogen. The synthesized magnetic hydrophilic MIP particles could be separated rapidly under an external magnetic field. About 94% transmittance of the particlewater suspension could be reached within 20 min by magnetic separation, whereas about 84% transmittance was achieved after at least 180min by sedimentation. The adsorption capacity of the particles was also studied in pure aqueous environments. These hydrophilic MIP particles had a higher selectivity for templates. Hydrophilic MIP particles took on a higher imprinting factor than hydrophobic MIP particles and 2,4-D were able to rebind hydrophilic MIP particles more easily than 4-Chorophenoxyacetic acid.

Three-dimensional finite element analysis on the effects of maxillary protraction with an individual titanium plate at multiple directions and locations

        Fan Wang,Qiao Chang,Shuran Liang,Yuxing Bai 대한치과교정학회 2024 대한치과교정학회지 Vol.54 No.2

Objective: A three-dimensional-printed individual titanium plate was applied for maxillary protraction to eliminate side effects and obtain the maximum skeletal effect. This study aimed to explore the stress distribution characteristics of sutures during maxillary protraction using individual titanium plates in various directions and locations. Methods: A protraction force of 500 g per side was applied at forward and downward angles between 0° and 60° with respect to the Frankfort horizontal plane, after which the titanium plate was moved 2 and 4 mm upward and downward, respectively. Changes in sutures with multiple protraction directions and various miniplate heights were quantified to analyze their impact on the maxillofacial bone. Results: Protraction angle of 0–30° with respect to the Frankfort horizontal plane exhibited a tendency for counterclockwise rotation in the maxilla. At a 40° protraction angle, translational motion was observed in the maxilla, whereas protraction angles of 50–60° tended to induce clockwise rotation in the maxilla. Enhanced protraction efficiency at the lower edge of the pyriform aperture was associated with increased height of individual titanium plates. Conclusions: Various protraction directions are suitable for patients with different types of vertical bone surfaces. Furthermore, when the titanium plate was positioned lower, the protraction force exhibited an increase.

Paeoniflorin increases the survival of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infected Caenorhabditis elegans at the immunosuppression stage by activating PMK-1, BAR-1, and EGL-1 signals

        Le Zhang,Yuxing Wang,Dayong Wang 대한약학회 2023 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.46 No.7

Paeoniflorin is the major active compound of total glycoside of paeony in Paeonia lactiflora Pall. Although several aspects of beneficial effects of paeoniflorin have been described, whether the paeoniflorin treatment is helpful for inhibiting the pathogen infection-induced immunosuppression remains largely unclear. Using the immunosuppression model in Caenorhabditis elegans induced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection, we here examined the beneficial effect of paeoniflorin treatment against the immunosuppression induced by bacterial pathogen infection. In this immunosuppression model, we observed that the survival rate of P. aeruginosa infected nematodes at the immunosuppression stage could be significantly increased by 25–100 mg/L paeoniflorin treatment. P. aeruginosa accumulation in intestinal lumen of nematodes at the immunosuppression stage was reduced by paeoniflorin treatment. Paeoniflorin could activate the expressions of antimicrobial genes (lys-1 and lys-8) in nematodes at the immunosuppression stage. Moreover, at the immunosuppression stage, paeoniflorin treatment increased the expressions of bar-1, pmk-1, and egl-1 required for the control of innate immunity against bacterial infection. Meanwhile, RNAi of bar-1, pmk-1, and egl-1 inhibited the beneficial effect of paeoniflorin treatment in increasing the survival, reducing the P. aeruginosa accumulation in intestinal lumen, and activating the expressions of antimicrobial genes (lys-1 and lys-8) in nematodes at the immunosuppression stage. Therefore, paeoniflorin treatment could effectively inhibit the immunosuppression induced by bacterial pathogen infection in the hosts.

        Ouyang, Sizhuo,Wang, Yuxing,Zhou, Kaiyin,Xia, Jingbo Korea Genome Organization 2021 Genomics & informatics Vol.19 No.3

Currently, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) literature has been increasing dramatically, and the increased text amount make it possible to perform large scale text mining and knowledge discovery. Therefore, curation of these texts becomes a crucial issue for Bio-medical Natural Language Processing (BioNLP) community, so as to retrieve the important information about the mechanism of COVID-19. PubAnnotation is an aligned annotation system which provides an efficient platform for biological curators to upload their annotations or merge other external annotations. Inspired by the integration among multiple useful COVID-19 annotations, we merged three annotations resources to LitCovid data set, and constructed a cross-annotated corpus, LitCovid-AGAC. This corpus consists of 12 labels including Mutation, Species, Gene, Disease from PubTator, GO, CHEBI from OGER, Var, MPA, CPA, NegReg, PosReg, Reg from AGAC, upon 50,018 COVID-19 abstracts in LitCovid. Contain sufficient abundant information being possible to unveil the hidden knowledge in the pathological mechanism of COVID-19.

Prediction of the Axial Bearing Compressive Capacities of CFST Columns Based on Machine Learning Methods

        Lusong Yu,Yuxing Zhang,Li Wang,Qiren Pan,Yiyang Wen 한국강구조학회 2024 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.24 No.1

Concrete-fi lled steel tubes (CFSTs) are widely used in engineering structures due to their excellent mechanical properties and economic benefi ts. This study focused on the construction of artifi cial neural network (ANN) models with high prediction capabilities and prediction accuracies that could predict the axial compression load capacities of short CFST columns using machine learning methods. A database was created by searching literature published over the past 40 years regarding circular-CFST bearing-capacity testing. Three ANN models with diff erent input parameters were developed, and used the Whale Optimization Algorithm to optimize the network weights and thresholds, the core idea of which comes from the humpback whale's special bubble net attack method. Then, the predictions of the proposed machine learning models were also compared with the theoretical values produced by the formulas proposed in existing codes. The results show that the ANN models had higher accuracies and a wider application range than the existing code models. Based on the Garson's algorithm, we perform parameter sensitivity analysis on the network model to enhance the interpretability of the neural network model. Finally, a graphical user tool is built to make the strength of CFST can be predicted quickly.

Proliferation, Accumulation of Polyphenols, and Antioxidant Activities of Callus from the 'Anji Baicha' Cultivar of Tea [Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Ktze.]

        Liu, Mingfei,Wang, Junli,Tian, Birui,Huang, Jingjing,Zhang, Rongrong,Lin, Yuxing,Xiao, Zefeng Korean Society of Horticultural Science 2017 원예과학기술지 Vol.35 No.2

Tea is one of the most consumed beverages worldwide and the relatively high levels polyphenols is benefit for health. In this study, we developed an efficient system for proliferation of callus from 'Anji Baicha', a cultivar of tea (Camellia sinensis). Callus tissue was initially induced by culturing leaf explants on medium containing different plant growth regulators. For callus induction, thidiazuron (TDZ) was more effective than 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), ${\alpha}-naphthalene$ acetic acid (NAA), and $N^6-benzyladenine$ (BA). The frequency of callus induction from leaf explants reached 90.21% on $1.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ TDZ and the developed callus was reddish and friable. We also tested the effect of different concentrations of NAA, 2,4-D, indole 3-acetic acid (IAA), BA, and TDZ, alone and in combinations, on callus proliferation. Medium supplemented with TDZ in combination with IAA was suitable for callus proliferation and accumulation of tea polyphenols. The growth index value and tea polyphenol content of callus cultured on MS medium containing $0.5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ TDZ and $1.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ IAA was maximally 1,351% and 23.24%, respectively, and the relative abundance of epicatechin was as high as 17.449%. We also measured the antioxidant activity of all samples and the callus with the highest tea polyphenol content also exhibited high potential radical scavenging activity.

        Mina Gachloo,Yuxing Wang,Jingbo Xia 한국유전체학회 2019 Genomics & informatics Vol.17 No.2

Prediction of the relations among drug and other molecular or social entities is the main knowledge discovery pattern for the purpose of drug-related knowledge discovery. Computational approaches have combined the information from different sources and levels for drug-related knowledge discovery, which provides a sophisticated comprehension of the relationship among drugs, targets, diseases, and targeted genes, at the molecular level, or relationships among drugs, usage, side effect, safety, and user preference, at a social level. In this research, previous work from the BioNLP community and matrix or matrix decomposition was reviewed, compared, and concluded, and eventually, the BioNLP open-shared task was introduced as a promising case study representing this area.
