Resistors With Calculable Frequency Dependencies Up to 1 MHz
Kim, Han Jun,Lee, Rae Duk,Semenov, Yu. P. IEEE 2007 IEEE transactions on instrumentation and measureme Vol.56 No.2

Resistance standards from 1 Omega to 100 kOmega, with calculable frequency dependencies of up to 1 MHz, have been developed for the calibration of commercial inductance-capacitance-resistance (LCR) meters and impedance analyzers. The resistors are designed on the basis of single bifilar loops. The typical resistance change from dc to 1 MHz is from 200 to 800 muOmega/Omega. According to the measurement results, the frequency dependencies of the resistors are several times lower than the measurement uncertainty of commercial LCR meters

A precise method for measuring inclination, which is based on the measurement of differential capacitances generated by a liquid dielectric flowing between parallel-type electrodes of a capacitor, has been developed. The correlation coefficient of the sensor was analyzed to be 0.99999 in the range of inclinations from 0$^o$ to $\pm$ 90$^o$, and no frequency effect was detected in the range of 100 Hz to 100 kHz. Because the electrode's structure was designed as a perfect 3-terminal capacitor, the inclination was precisely measured without any effects due to environmental noise or electric fields. Because of its stable digital output, this method is applicable not only for precise measurements of inclination but also for either remote control or monitoring of inclinations of instruments and/or constructions.
Establishment of a National Primary Inductance Standard Unit

A portable primary inductance standard set that includes a Maxwell-Wien bridge and a 10 mH standard inductor installed in a thermostat has been developed at KRISS. Two auxiliary resistance capacitance networks (analogous to a 'Wagner ground') provide excellent stability of the bridge balance and impose less strict requirements on the components of these networks. Removable capacitance and ac-dc resistance standards used in the bridge arms made it possible to reproduce 10 mH and 100 mH inductance values in the frequency range of 500 Hz to 3 kHz. From investigations of this standard and preliminary comparison with VNIIM (D. I. Mendeleyev Institute for Metrology), the results have demonstrated that the bridge can be used as a part of the transportable inductance standard with a measurement uncertainty within (1-3) $\mu$H/H at frequencies of 1 kHz and 1.6 kHz. The application of the bridge as a constituent part of the transportable standard gives us an opportunity to eliminate the influence of the standard inductors.

A coil-type capacitive sensor on which the deterioration of the car engine oil can be in situ measured, has been developed. The sensor was designed to get over 10 pF at the limited space on the drain hole of the oil pan. The design factors for stable capacitance measurement such as coil diameter and winding condition, materials and configuration of the coil former, and shielding method, etc., were known by both computer simulation and experimental investigations. The dielectric properties measured by several sensors for an used sample oil were consisted within 0.25 %. The sensor installed on the cat having severe vibration, temperature and humidity fluctuation, even electromagnetic noise, has shown very distinguishable results.
