Evaluation of selection method for appropriate inspection points using diversity and consistency
Yosuke Takahashi,Hisayoshi Matsuyama,Shigeyuki Tateno 제어로봇시스템학회 2008 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2008 No.10
Corrosions of pipes have been disregarded as a management object in chemical or petrochemical plants because an outside corrosion phenomenon has a slow deterioration speed. Therefore, there is danger of a large number of pipes that have been used for 30 to 40 years without maintenance. It may cause penetration through pipes due to outside corrosion, in the worst case, a fatal accident will occur. In such a background, proper maintenance work should be carried out in advance. In this research, the case database is made from corrosion rates with environmental factors of design information and installation environment of pipes. A selection support system based on the case databases searches for corrosion points where corrosion is likely to progress. The case databases are successfully evaluated by the degree of diversity and the degree of consistency.

Background/Aims: 5-Aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) is a basic drug for inducing and maintaining remission for ulcerative colitis. One of its formulations has a coating with a pH-dependent degradation that ensures the release 5-ASA at the terminal ileum. No evidence has been shown concerning the effects of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) or H2 receptor antagonists (H2RAs) on the clinical course of ulcerative colitis patients in remission. The present study assessed the effect of PPIs or H2RAs on the relapse of ulcerative colitis patients in clinical remission maintained by pH-dependent released 5-ASA. Methods: Ulcerative colitis patients who had been prescribed time- or pH-dependent-released 5-ASA between January 2015 and December 2018 were enrolled in this multicenter retrospective study. The period of remission until relapse occurred was analyzed among the patients taking time-dependent-released 5-ASA or pH-dependent-released 5-ASA with/without PPIs or H2RAs. Results: One hundred and nineteen patients were analyzed in this study. In the primary endpoint, the relapse rate was higher in patients taking pH-dependent-released 5-ASA and PPIs or H2RAs than in those taking the pH-dependent-released 5-ASA without PPIs or H2RAs, while the relapse rate was similar in patients taking the time-dependent-released 5-ASA with or without PPIs or H2RAs concomitantly. Patients with a short duration of disease and middle-aged patients more frequently showed relapse with PPIs or H2RAs than the other patients. Conclusions: The coadministration of PPIs or H2RAs affects the clinical course of ulcerative colitis in remission maintained by pH-dependent-released 5-ASA. (Intest Res 2021;19:225-231)
Cervical Spondylotic Amyotrophy: Case Series and Review of the Literature
Toshiyuki Takahashi,Junya Hanakita,Manabu Minami,Yosuke Tomita,Tomoki Sasagasako,Ryo Kanematsu 대한척추신경외과학회 2019 Neurospine Vol.16 No.3
Objective: Cervical spondylotic amyotrophy (CSA) is a relatively rare entity caused by cervical degenerative spinal diseases and characterized by motor weakness accompanied by remarkable muscle atrophy in the upper extremities without significant sensory deficits or spastic paraparesis in the lower extremities. Postoperative outcomes and predictive prognostic factors vary among previous reports. In the present report, we describe the surgical results in patients who were surgically treated for CSA and present a literature review. Methods: In total, 33 patients with CSA were retrospectively analyzed. Correlations between the surgical outcome and the following factors were statistically analyzed: age, sex, type of impaired muscle, preoperative severity of motor weakness, number of levels of cord or root compression, presence of a T2 high-intensity area in the spinal cord, cervical kyphosis, and methods of surgical procedure. Results: On postoperative neurological evaluation, 25 patients (75.8%) had favorable outcomes and 8 had unfavorable outcomes (proximal type, 72.2%; distal type, 78.6%). Patients with favorable outcomes were significantly younger than those with unfavorable outcomes (p=0.013). Patient’s characteristics except for age and radiological factors were not correlated to surgical outcome. Conclusion: The present study focused on the surgical results in patients who were surgically treated for CSA along with updated information from a literature review. Improvement of motor weakness is expected with acceptable prevalence although higher age can be a negative factor. Surgical outcomes and predictive factors related to a poor prognosis were determined and compared with those of previous articles.
Quantum Simulation Using Ultracold Two-electron Atoms in an Optical Lattice

Quantum degenerate gases of ytterbium atoms in three-dimensional optical lattices are studied for bosonic isotopes and mixtures of bosonic and fermionic isotopes. A quantum phase transition from a superfluid to a Mott insulating state is observed for bosonic isotopes. In the deep Mott insulating region, we perform one-color photoassociation spectroscopy and investigate the site occupancy. In addition, Bose-Fermi mixtures of Yb isotopes in optical lattices are studied using two different combinations of mixtures.
Interventional management for postoperative arterial bleeding in gastrointestinal surgery
Yozo Sato,Kiyoshi Matsueda,Marie Osawa,Yoshitaka Inaba,Yu Takahashi,Yosuke Inoue,Atsushi Oba,Yosuke Fukunaga,Yasuhiro Shimizu 소화기인터벤션의학회 2022 Gastrointestinal Intervention Vol.11 No.4
Postoperative arterial bleeding after gastrointestinal surgery is a potentially fatal complication. Transcatheter arterial embolization is considered the first-line treatment because of efficacy and less invasiveness despite the risk of organ infarction. With the recent advances in endovascular devices, stent-graft placement, which can preserve arterial flow, has been an alternative treatment option in patients with extrahepatic artery hemorrhage. Moreover, clinical outcomes of stent-graft placement for pseudoaneurysms in relative long term have been reported recently. Herein, we review the techniques and clinical outcomes for interventional management for postoperative arterial bleeding.
