        대학 교육 시스템의 질 관리를 위한 역량기반 교육과정 인증 모형 개발

        본 연구는 대학 교육과정이 합리적이고 타당하게 편성·운영되고, 학생들의 학습과 역량이 제대로 개발되기 위해서는 대학 교육 시스템이 어떻게 개선되어야 할 것인가라는 문제의식에서 출발하였다. 이에 대학에서 질 높은 교육과정 제공을 위한 역량기반 교육과정 인증 모형을 개발하는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서 설정한 문제는 첫째, 역량기반 교육과정 인증 모형을 개발하는 데 있어 개발의 전제와 틀을 어떻게 설정할 것이며, 모형 개발 방향 및 근거는 어떻게 설정할 것인가. 둘째, 모형 개발 과정의 논의 그리고 최종 모형은 어떻게 도출할 것인가. 셋째, 최종 모형의 특징은 무엇이며 모형을 활용할 때에 어떤 점에 유의해야 하는가. 넷째, 본 모형이 지니는 교육적 의미와 가치는 무엇인가이다. 이와 같이, 네 가지 연구문제를 해결하기 위한 연구방법으로는 문헌연구, 사례연구, 전문가 심층 면담, 시나리오 기법이다. 이를 바탕으로 도출한 논의 및 결론은 다음과 같다. 본 연구에서는 대학 교육과정 질 관리 모형을 역량기반 교육과정 인증 모형을 중심으로 설계하고 개발하였다. 본 연구는 역량기반 교육과정(전공·교양·비교과)을 중심으로 모형을 개발하였으며, 모형을 통하여 대학 교육과정 전체의 질 관리 모습을 가시적으로 보여주고, 단계별 전략을 제공하고 있다. 그러나 중요한 것은 대학에서의 질 관리 문화를 먼저 이룩하여 실행하는 것이다. This study started with the problem of how the university education system should be improved in order for the university curriculum to be reasonably organized and operated, and for students to learn and develop properly. The aim is to develop a competency-based curriculum accreditation model for providing quality curriculum in universities. The study set four research questions. The first research question was “how to set the prerequisites and framework in developing a competency-based curriculum accreditation model, and how to set the direction and basis of the development of the model?” The second one was about the discussion of the model development process and “how to derive the final model?” The third research question was “what are the characteristics and precautions in the utilization of the final model?” The last one was “what are the educational meaning and value of the model?” To provide answers for those research questions, this study conducted a literature review, case studies review, in-depth interviews and investigations with experts, and scenario technique. The conclusions based on above mentioned results and discussions of this study are as follows: While the quality management of university curriculum is important, the most important thing first and foremost is to establish the culture of quality management in universities.

      • TNF-like ligand 1A is a promising biomarker of disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis

        Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation of multiple joints. TN -like ligand 1A (TL1A), a ligand belonging to the TNF superfamily, is expressed by endothelial cells, lymphocytes, monocytes and plasma cells. These are also the key cell lineages participating in the pathogenesis of RA. Moreover, TL1A is up-regulated by proinflammatory cytokines TNF- and IL-1. We thereby examined the serum and synovial fluid levels of TL1A in patients with RA. In addition, we investigated the relationship between serum TL1A concentration and clinical parameters in RA patients. Methods: Serum samples were obtained from 232 patients with RA and 29 with osteoarthritis (OA). Thirty-eight and 27 synovial fluid (SF) samples were collected from respective group of patients. Additional 45 serum samples before and after (14 weeks) anti-TNF- treatment were collected from RA patients. TL1A concentrations were measured by ELISA. Clinical parameters were acquired at the time of sampling. Results: Serum concentrations of TL1A in RA patients were significantly higher than those in OA patients (mean±SD, 1327.4±3858.8 pg/ml vs. 150.3±269.6 pg/ml, p<0.0001). The SF levels of TL1A were elevated in patients with RA compared with those in OA (965.7±1617.2 vs. 271.4±238.9, p=0.013). Levels of TL1A were significantly increased in SF than serum in matched samples (RA; p=0.006, OA; p<0.0001). Serum levels of TL1A decreased substantially with anti-TNF- treatment (p=0.002). Serum levels of TL1A correlated well with DAS28-ESR (r=0.170, p=0.021), DAS28-CRP (r=0.166, p=0.037), SDAI (r=0.201, p=0.016), CDAI (r=0.195, p=0.011) and rheumatoid factor positivity (r=0.876, p=0.044). Conclusion: Serum and SF levels of TL1A were significantly increased in RA patients compared with OA patients, and correlated well with clinical parameters representing disease activity.Our results support that TL1A could be a potential biomarker in assessing disease activity and treatment response in RA patients.

        간암세포주를 대상으로 한 체외 복합 항암제 감수성 검사

        N/A Primary hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is one of the most common malignancies in Korea due mainly to high incidence of chronic hepatitis B virus infection. Most of the HCC are inoperable even at first presentation. So chemotherapy could be one of the major therapeutic modalities, but HCC is seldom chemosensitive. This type of chemoresistance is explainesd by high level of expression of multidrug resistance(MDR) gene and p-glycoprotein. We initiated this study to establish the in vitro model of drug selection and combination for HCC. Three human HCC cell lines and five cytotoxic drugs were used. MTT assays for cytotoxicity test were performed with single chemotherapeutic agent and various two drug combinations. Slot blot analysis for measuring the expression levels or MDR1 RNA was performed and demon strated that 2 HCC lines show moderate to high degree of MDRI expression, The ranges of drug concetration which causes 50% inhibition of the cell lines(IC50) are in the clinically achievable concentrations for the 5-fluorouracil in two HCC lines, and adriamycin in one cell line. Two cell lines which showed positive MDRI exression were resistant to adriamycin. But all three cell lines were sensitive to etoposide irrespective of MDR1 expression. In thelinically achievable concentration ranges those we tested, singnificantly improved cytotoxic effects are demonstrated in combinations of etoposide plus cisplatin, and etoposide plus mitomycin-C out of 10 possible two drug combinations. These data indicate the need for in vivo trials with the combination chemotherapy of etoposide plus cisplatin or etoposide plus mitomycin-C for HCC.

        Clinical Significance of Preoperative Embolization for Non-Hypervascular Metastatic Spine Tumors

        Objective : The efficacy of preoperative embolization for hypervascular metastatic spine disease (MSD) such as renal cell and thyroid cancers has been reported. However, the debate on the efficacy of preoperative embolization for non-hypervascular MSD still remains unsettled. The purpose of this study is to determine whether preoperative embolization for non-hypervascular MSD decreases perioperative blood loss. Methods : A total of 79 patients (36 cases of preoperative embolization and 43 cases of non-embolization) who underwent surgery for metastatic spine lesions were included. Representative hypervascular tumors such as renal cell and thyroid cancers were excluded. Intraoperative and perioperative estimated blood losses (EBL), total number of transfusion and calibrated EBL were recorded in the embolization and non-embolization groups. The differences in EBL were also compared along with the type of surgery. In addition, the incidence of Adamkiewicz artery and complications of embolization were assessed. Results : The average age of 50 males and 29 females was $57.6{\pm}13.5$ years. Lung (30), hepatocellular (14), gastrointestinal (nine) and others (26) were the primary cancers. The demographic data was not significantly different between the embolization and the non-embolization groups. There were no significant differences in intraoperative EBL, perioperative EBL, total transfusion and calibrated EBL between two groups. However, intraoperative EBL and total transfusion in patients with preoperative embolization were significantly lower than in non-embolization in the corpectomy group (1645.5 vs. 892.6 mL, p=0.017 for intraoperative EBL and 6.1 vs. 3.9, p=0.018 for number of transfusion). In addition, the presence of Adamkiewicz artery at the index level was noted in two patients. Disruption of this major feeder artery resulted in significant changes in intraoperative neuromonitoring. Conclusion : Preoperative embolization for non-hypervascular MSD did not reduce perioperative blood loss. However, the embolization significantly reduced intraoperative bleeding and total transfusion in corpectomy group. Moreover, the procedure provided insights into the anatomy of tumor and spinal cord vasculature.

        Physique and fitness characteristics according to playing position in Adolescent soccer players differ. Many studies have been researched that changes and improvements in physique and fitness characteristics are observed during adolescence. While many studies have been published on different characteristics, no comprehensive literature review studies focusing on playing position in adolescent soccer players have been conducted. Therefore, the purpose of this sytematic review was to compare and analyze the physique and fitness characteristics required according to playing position in adolescent soccer players. To this end, a total of 13 articles were selected from Riss, Google Scholar and Pubmed. As a result of this study, we were found that Forwards(high-speed), Midfielders(high-aerobic capacity), Defenders(high-height, isometric and isokinetic strength) and Goalkeepers(high-isokinetic strength were need each factors. In conclusion, we found that the required physique and fitness characteristics are different according to playing position in adolescent soccer players. However, the measurement conditions in 13 articles were not same, there is a lack of research comparing agility and anaerobic capacity, and standardized tests to measure the ball handling skills have not been established. Therefore, it is necessary to standardize ball handling skills test and compare various physique and fitness characteristics according to playing position in adolescent soccer players.

      • Genetic diversity and population structure of the Black-faced Spoonbill (<i>Platalea minor</i>) among its breeding sites in South Korea: Implication for conservation

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The endangered Black-faced Spoonbill <I>Platalea minor</I> has experienced drastic reductions in population size, geographic distribution, and habitat availability throughout East Asia. In the present study, we examined population genetic structure and genetic diversity of Black-faced Spoonbills inhabiting five sites off the west coast of South Korea encompassing a few of its major breeding sites. Ten microsatellite loci and the mitochondrial sequence were used to assess patterns of genetic variation based on 63 individuals. Three ND2 haplotypes were found among 61 individuals; the remaining two were identified as Eurasian Spoonbills, revealing an unexpected hybridization between these two species having different ecological niches in South Korea—the Eurasian Spoonbill overwinters in inland areas, whereas the Black-faced Spoonbill inhabits coastal areas during the summer. Analyses of microsatellite variation revealed no discrete population structure among the five breeding sites but very weak genetic differentiation among geographically distant regions. Assignment tests identified several possible migrants among sites. Our findings suggested that Black-faced Spoonbills from the five breeding sites could be managed as a single population and highlighted the importance of conserving the populations from Maedo, Suhaam, and Namdong reservoir, which are geographically close and have retained high levels of genetic diversity and large populations.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Ten polymorphic microsatellite loci and the mitochondrial DNA sequence were used to assess genetic diversity and structure. </LI> <LI> No discrete population structure among the five breeding sites in South Korea but very weak genetic differentiation among geographically distant regions. </LI> <LI> Black-faced Spoonbill individuals from the five breeding sites could be managed as a single population in South Korea. </LI> <LI> Unexpected hybridization between the Eurasian Spoonbill and the Black-faced Spoonbill was observed in our genetic studies. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Genetic analysis of Helicobacter pylori clinical isolates suggests resistance to metronidazole can occur without the loss of functional rdxA

        <P>Resistance to metronidazole (MTZ) in Helicobacter pylori is associated with mutations in rdxA, encoding an oxygen-insensitive NADPH nitroreductase, and mutations in frxA, encoding a NAD(P)H-flavin oxidoreductase. Despite this association, the strict correlation of MTZ resistance with mutations in rdxA or frxA is still controversial. In this study, rdxA allelic replacement was used to distinguish resistance-associated nucleotide mutations from the natural genetic diversity of H. pylori. Replacement with truncated rdxA resulted in MTZ resistance, whereas replacement with missense-mutated rdxA from resistant clinical isolates failed to yield MTZ resistance. Thus, although truncation of rdxA confers MTZ resistance in G27 H. pylori, MTZ resistance found in other clinical isolates is not due to the identified amino-acid substitutions. Three of our MTZ-resistant clinical isolates expressed functional rdxA and two of these also encoded full-length frxA. Therefore, MTZ resistance can arise in H. pylori possessing functional rdxA, suggesting that other factors are involved in MTZ resistance.</P>
