Lyapunov-based States Transfer for Open System with Superconducting Qubits

        Ying-Hua Ji,Ju-Ju Hu,Qiang Ke 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2018 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.16 No.1

We design control fields to realize states transfer for open quantum system by Lyapunov stability theory, and investigate the states transfer of superconducting qubits in Markovian channels with phase relaxation and energy dissipative relaxation. The numerical simulations indicate that arbitrary state (eigenstate, superposition state or mixed state) transfer and maintenance for Markovian system can be realized under Lyapunov control function by an external steady control field of proper amplitude. Moreover, proper increase of proportional coefficients can accelerate the qubits flip and reduce the vibration frequency of control function.

Synergistic Effects of Leflunomide and Benazepril in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Nephropathy

        Jin, Hua,Piao, Shang Guo,Jin, Ji Zhe,Jin, Ying Shun,Cui, Zhen Hua,Jin, Hai Feng,Zheng, Hai Lan,Li, Jin Ji,Jiang, Yu Ji,Yang, Chul Woo,Li, Can S.Karger 2014 The Nephron Journals Vol.126 No.3

<P>Abstract</P><P><B><I>Background:</I></B> Leflunomide (LEF) and benazepril have renoprotective effects on diabetic nephropathy (DN) through their anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic activities. This study investigated whether combined treatment using LEF and benazepril affords superior protection compared with the respective monotherapies. <B><I>Methods:</I></B> Diabetes was induced with streptozotocin (STZ, 65 mg/kg) by intraperitoneal injection in male Wistar rats. Two weeks after STZ injection, diabetic rats were treated daily for 12 weeks with LEF (10 mg/kg), benazepril (10 mg/kg), or a combination of both. Basic parameters (body weight, fasting blood glucose level, and 24 h urinary protein excretion), histopathology, inflammatory [inflammatory cell infiltration (ED-1), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), and Toll-like receptor-2 (TLR-2)] and glomerulosclerotic factors [transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF)], and oxidative stress (8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine, 8-OHdG) were studied. <B><I>Results:</I></B> Benazepril or LEF treatment significantly prevented body weight loss and 24 h urinary protein excretion induced by diabetes; combined treatment with LEF and benazepril further improved these parameters compared with giving each drug alone (all p < 0.01). Increased expression of inflammatory (MCP-1 and TLR-2) and glomerulosclerotic (TGF-β1 and CTGF) factors in diabetic rat kidney was reduced by treatment with either LEF or benazepril and was further reduced by the combined administration of the two drugs (p < 0.01). These effects were accompanied by suppression of urinary 8-OHdG excretion. There was no significant between-group difference in blood glucose level. <B><I>Conclusions:</I></B> LEF treatment lessens DN, and combined treatment with LEF and benazepril provides synergistic effects in preventing DN.</P><P>© 2014 S. HCV-Specific Interleukin-21+CD4+ T Cells Responses Associated with Viral Control through the Modulation of HCV-Specific CD8+ T Cells Function in Chronic Hepatitis C Patients

        Guo-Hua Feng,Fu-Sheng Wang,Ji-Yuan Zhang,Qing-Lei Zeng,Lei Jin,Junliang Fu,Bin Yang,Ying Sun,Tianjun Jiang,Xiangsheng Xu,Zheng Zhang,Jinhong Yuan,Liyuan Wu 한국분자세포생물학회 2013 Molecules and cells Vol.36 No.4

Interleukin-21 (IL-21)+CD4+ T cells are involved in the immune response against hepatitis B virus (HBV) by secreting IL-21. However, the role of IL-21+CD4+ T cells in the immune response against chronic hepatitis C (CHC) virus infection is poorly understood. This study aimed to investigate the role of IL-21+CD4+ T cells in CHC patients and the potential mechanisms. The study subjects in-cluded nineteen CHC patients who were grouped by viral load (low, < 106 RNA copies/ml, n = 8; high, > 106 RNA copies/ml, n = 11). The peripheral frequency of HCV-specific IL-21+CD4+ T cells was higher in the low viral load group and was negatively correlated with the serum HCV RNA viral load in all CHC patients. Meanwhile, IL-21+ cells accumulated in the liver in the low viral load group. In vitro, IL-21 treatment increased the expression of proliferation markers and cytolytic molecules on HCV-specific CD8+ T cells. In summary, these findings suggest that HCV-specific IL-21+CD4+ T cells might contribute to HCV control by rescuing HCV-specific CD8+ T cells in CHC patients.

A Diterpenoid Acanthoic Acid from <i>Acanthopanax koreanum</i> Protects against <small>D</small>-Galactosamine/Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Fulminant Hepatic Failure in Mice

        Nan, Ji-Xing,Jin, Xue-Jun,Lian, Li-Hua,Cai, Xing Fu,Jiang, Ying-Zi,Jin, Hong Ri,Lee, Jung Joon Pharmaceutical Society of Japan 2008 Biological & pharmaceutical bulletin Vol.31 No.4

<P>The hepatoprotective effects of a diterpenoid acanthoic acid isolated from <I>Acanthopanax koreanum</I> N<SMALL>AKAI </SMALL>were evaluated in a <SMALL>D</SMALL>-galactosamine/lipopolysaccharide-induced fulminant hepatic failure mouse model. Mice were pretreated orally with acanthoic acid 12 and 1 h before intraperitoneal injection of <SMALL>D</SMALL>-galactosamine and lipopolysaccharide. Pretreatment with the compound markedly reduced lethal liver injury in experimental animals. The effects were likely associated with a significant decrease in serum tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α levels, which are correlated not only with those of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase but also with the reduced number of apoptotic hepatocytes in the liver as confirmed using the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling method and DNA fragmentation assay. These results suggest that acanthoic acid protects against <SMALL>D</SMALL>-galactosamine/lipopolysaccharide-induced fulminant liver failure at least in part by a mechanism associated with the down-regulation of TNF-α secretion.</P>

miR167c is Induced by High Alkaline Stress and Inhibits Two Auxin Response Factors in Glycine soja

        Dekang Lv,Ying Ge,Bei Jia,Xi Bai,Peihua Bao,Hua Cai,Wei Ji,Yanming Zhu 한국식물학회 2012 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.55 No.5

Soil alkalinity is one of the major environmental factors limiting crop productivity worldwide. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small (21-25 nucleotides) single-stranded non-coding RNAs that regulate developmental and stress responses in plants by cleaving target mRNAs. However, little is known about the role of miRNAs in the response to alkaline stress. In this study, we identified the miR167c as a high alkaline-responsive miRNAs in wild soybean based on genome microarray and RNA gel blot. The presence of a cisacting abscisic acid (ABA) responsive element (ABRE) in the upstream region and the ABA inducement of primiR167c suggested that miR167c might be regulated by ABA. We also showed that two auxin response factors (ARF),Gs14g03650 and Gs18g05330, were target genes of the alkaline-inducible miR167c and rapidly down-regulated following alkaline treatment. Our results reveal that miR167c regulated the expression pattern of ARFs, which could be vital for both development and stress adaptation.

Inhibitory effects of piceatannol on human cytomegalovirus (hCMV) in vitro

        Wang San-Ying,Zhang Jing,Xu Xiao-Gang,Su Hui-Li,Xing Wen-Min,Zhang Zhong-Shan,Jin Wei-Hua,Dai Ji-Huan,Wang Ya-Zhen,He Xin-Yue,Sun Chuan,Yan Jing,Mao Gen-Xiang 한국미생물학회 2020 The journal of microbiology Vol.58 No.8

Human cytomegalovirus (hCMV) is a ubiquitous herpesvirus, which results in the establishment of a latent infection that persists throughout the life of the host and can be reactivated when the immunity is low. Currently, there is no vaccine for hCMV infection, and the licensed antiviral drugs mainly target the viral enzymes and have obvious adverse reactions. Thus, it is important to search for compounds with antihCMV properties. The present study aimed to investigate the suppressive effects of piceatannol on hCMV Towne strain infection and the putative underlying mechanisms using human diploid fibroblast WI-38 cells. Piceatannol supplementation prevented the lytic changes induced by hCMV infection in WI-38 cells. Furthermore, piceatannol suppressed the expression of hCMV immediate-early (IE) and early (E) proteins as well as the replication of hCMV DNA in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, hCMV-induced cellular senescence was suppressed by piceatannol, as shown by a decline in the senescence-associated β-galactosidase (SA-β-Gal) activity and decreased production of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS). p16INK4a, a major senescence-associated molecule, was dramatically elevated by current hCMV infection that was attenuated by pre-incubation with piceatannol in a dose-dependent manner. These results demonstrated that piceatannol suppressed the hCMV infection via inhibition of the activation of p16INK4a and cellular senescence induced by hCMV. Together, these findings indicate piceatannol as a novel and potent anti-hCMV agent with the potential to be developed as an effective treatment for chronic hCMV infection.

Pathological Lesions and Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase Expressions in the Liver of Mice Experimentally Infected with Clonorchis sinensis

        Qing-Li Yang,Ji-Qing Shen,Yan Xue,Xiao-Bing Cheng,Zhi-Hua Jiang,Yi-Chao Yang,Ying-Dan Chen,Xiao-Nong Zhou 대한기생충학열대의학회 2015 The Korean Journal of Parasitology Vol.53 No.6

The nitric oxide (NO) formation and intrinsic nitrosation may be involved in the possible mechanisms of liver fluke-associated carcinogenesis. We still do not know much about the responses of inducible NO synthase (iNOS) induced by Clonorchis sinensis infection. This study was conducted to explore the pathological lesions and iNOS expressions in the liver of mice with different infection intensity levels of C. sinensis. Extensive periductal inflammatory cell infiltration, bile duct hyperplasia, and fibrosis were commonly observed during the infection. The different pathological responses in liver tissues strongly correlated with the infection intensity of C. sinensis. Massive acute spotty necrosis occurred in the liver parenchyma after a severe infection. The iNOS activity in liver tissues increased, and iNOS-expressing cells with morphological differences were observed after a moderate or severe infection. The iNOS-expressing cells in liver tissues had multiple origins.

NANOTOXICITY OF MULTIWALL CARBON NANOTUBES TO A549 CELLS IN VITRO

        FU-DE WANG,Ying Tang,Yong Ji Yang,CHAN JIN,HUA ZHANG,HAO LIANG 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2014 NANO Vol.9 No.2

Multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) have been widely applied in many ¯elds due to theexcellent physical and chemical properties. As the production and applications of nanotubesexpand, public concern about their potential risks to human health has also raised. Cytotoxicityof MWCNTs was evaluated in this study using a cultured human epithelial cell line A549. Uptakeof MWCNTs by cultured A549 cells was observed by TEM imaging. Dose-dependent decrease ofcell viability showed the cytotoxicity of MWCNTs. Signi¯cant reactive oxygen species (ROS)generation and GSH depletion which reduced the cellular antioxidant level could be the majorfactor of cytotoxicity induced by MWCNTs. MWCNTs seemed to trigger the activation of cellautophagy with the intracellular ATG16L1 level increase as a defense mechanism.

Detection of Ehrlichia chaffeensis pathogen from deer in Korea

        Lee, Mi-Jin,Li, Ying-Hua,Yu, Do-Hyeon,Lee, Jong-Hyun,Yoon, Ji-Seon,Song, Hee-Jong,Chae, Joon-Seok,Park, Jin-Ho The Korean Society of Veterinary Service 2008 韓國家畜衛生學會誌 Vol.31 No.2

Ehrlichia chaffeensis infects human and animals, and causes human monocytotropic ehrlichiosis (HME). It is emerging as a tick-borne zoonosis of concern. Although deer are important natural reservoir hosts of E chaffeensis, few surveys of deer in Korea for E chaffeensis have been conducted. Therefore, we conducted this study to confirm the occurrence of E chaffeensis in deer. To accomplish this study, we collected blood from total 27 deer and then polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and 16S rRNA sequence analyse to evaluate the samples for the presence of E chaffeensis. The results of this study indicated that 9 (33%) of the deer were infected with E chaffeensis. This is the first study to demonstrate that deer in Korea are infected with E chaffeensis, which indicates that they can act as a natural reservoir host for E chaffeensis.

      • Association of TNF-α-308 and -238 Polymorphisms with Risk of Cervical Cancer: A Meta-analysis

        Pan, Feng,Tian, Jing,Ji, Chu-Shu,He, Yi-Fu,Han, Xing-Hua,Wang, Yong,Du, Jian-Ping,Jiang, Feng-Shou,Zhang, Ying,Pan, Yue-Yin,Hu, Bing Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.11

Published data on the associations between tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-${\alpha}$) promoter -308G>A and -238G>A polymorphisms and cervical cancer risk are inconclusive. To derive a more precise estimation of the relationship, a meta-analysis was performed. Data were collected from MEDLINE and PubMed databases. Crude odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated in a fixed/random effect model. 13 separate studies including 3294 cases and 3468 controls were involved in the meta-analysis. We found no association between TNF-${\alpha}$-308G>A polymorphism and cervical cancer in overall population. In subgroup analysis, significantly elevated risks were found in Caucasian population (A vs. G: OR = 1.43, 95% CI = 1.00-2.03; AA vs. GG: OR = 2.09, 95% CI = 1.34-3.25; Recessive model: OR = 2.09, 95% CI = 1.35-3.25) and African population (GA vs. GG: OR = 1.53, 95% CI = 1.02-2.30). An association of TNF-${\alpha}$-238G>A polymorphism with cervical cancer was found (A vs. G: OR = 0.61, 95% CI = 0.47-0.78; GA vs. GG: OR = 0.59, 95% CI = 0.45-0.77; Dominant model: OR = 0.59, 95% CI = 0.46-0.77). When stratified by ethnicity, similar association was observed in Caucasian population (A vs. G: OR = 0.62, 95% CI = 0.46-0.84; GA vs. GG: OR = 0.59, 95% CI = 0.43-0.82; Dominant model: OR = 0.60, 95% CI = 0.44-0.83). In summary, this meta-analysis suggests that TNF-${\alpha}$-238A allele significantly decreased the cervical cancer risk, and the TNF-${\alpha}$-308G>A polymorphism is associated with the susceptibility to cervical cancer in Caucasian and African population.
