Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between teaching effectiveness and clinical practice satisfaction among nursing students. Method: The subjects of this study were 107 junior and senior nursing students in E university. Data were collected using self-reported questionnaire including general and practicum related characteristics, teaching effectiveness of clinical instructors and clinical practice satisfaction from September 12 to September 21, 2011. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS 19 program using t-test, ANOVA with Scheffe test, and Pearson`s correlation coefficients. Result: The mean score of teaching effectiveness was 3.35(±.51), and mean of clinical practice satisfaction was 3.19±.47. There were significant differences of teaching effectiveness of clinical instrutor by satisfaction of overall clinical practicum(F=8.332, p<.001), satisfaction of practice hour(F=3.230, p=.044), and satisfaction of major(F=9.883, p<.001). There were significant differences of clinical practice satisfaction by grade(t=2.274, p=.025), motive of choosing nursing science as a major(F=3.329, p=.007), satisfaction of overall clinical practicum(F=17.437, p<.001), satisfaction of practice hours(F=9.925, p<.001), and satisfaction of nursing major(F=12.748, p<.001). Relationship between teaching effectiveness of clinical instructor and clinical practice satisfaction showed positive correlation(r=.704, p<.001). Conclusion: In this study, teaching effectiveness of clinical instructor was related with clinical practice satisfaction. Therefore, we should consider improving teaching effectiveness of clinical instructor to improve clinical practice satisfaction.

The human fungal pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans assembles O-linked mannosyl glycans on its proteins in two types; Ktr3p-meidated major-O-glycans without xylose and Cap6-mediated minor-O-glycans without xylose, respectively1. The C. neoformans ktr3Δcap6Δ double mutant strain was constructed to block completely O-mannosylation extension in the Golgi. The ktr3Δcap6Δ strain accumulated the O-glycans carrying only a single mannose and displayed defective growth under several stress conditions, accompanied with completely attenuated virulence in a mouse model of cryptococcosis. By RNA-Seq-based transcriptome analysis, we investigated the effect of defective O-mannosylation on the stress-responsive signaling pathways associated with virulence. The comparative transcriptome analysis of the wild-type (WT) and ktr3Δcap6Δ cells under normal growth and tunicamycin (TM) treatment conditions, respectively, revealed the decreased induction of Mpk1p-and calcineurin-Crz1-mediated cell wall integrity (CWI) signaling pathways. Furthermore, we examined the possible change of physiochemical properties of cell surface in the ktr3Δcap6Δ cells, by profile analysis of N-linked glycans assembled on cell wall proteins, flow cytometry analysis of cell wall components, and filipin-staining analysis of erogosterol. Although no apparent difference in the total amount and overall length of N-glycans was observed, the N-glycan profile of ktr3Δ cap6Δ showed a marginal change with the decreased neutral glycan peaks and increased acidic glycan peaks compared to that of the WT strain. We also observed the slightly increased amount of chitin in ktr3Δ cap6Δ, which might reflect the compensation mechanism of defective CWI. Notably, the ktr3Δ cap6Δ cells showed defective trafficking of ergosterol, an immunoactive fungal molecule, from the ER to the plasma membrane. In conclusion, our results demonstrate the importance of extended O-glycan structure for cell wall integrity signaling and physiochemical properties of cell surface, which critically affect the survival in the host cell environments and the interaction with host cells of C. neoformans during infection process.
Pyruvate Kinase M2 : A Novel Biomarker for the Early Detection of Acute Kidney Injury

The identification of biomarkers for the early detection of acute kidney injury (AKI) is clinically important Acute kidney injury (AKI) in critically ill patients is closely associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Conventional biomarkers, such as serum creatinine (SCr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN), are frequently used to diagnose AKI. However, these biomarkers increase only after significant structural damage has occurred. Recent efforts have focused on identification and validation of new noninvasive biomarkers for the early detection of AKI, prior to extensive structural damage. Furthermore, AKI biomarkers can provide valuable insight into the molecular mechanisms of this complex and heterogeneous disease. Our previous study suggested that pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2), which is excreted in the urine, is a sensitive biomarker for nephrotoxicity. To appropriately and optimally utilize PKM2 as a biomarker for AKI requires its complete characterization. This review highlights the major studies that have addressed the diagnostic and prognostic predictive power of biomarkers for AKI and assesses the potential usage of PKM2 as an early biomarker for AKI. We summarize the current state of knowledge regarding the role of biomarkers and the molecular and cellular mechanisms of AKI. This review will elucidate the biological basis of specific biomarkers that will contribute to improving the early detection and diagnosis of AKI.
자폐스펙트럼장애 아동의 사회적 상호작용 증진을 위한 동물매개중재의 치료적 효과에 대한 고찰

목적 : 본 연구는 동물매개중재가 자폐스펙트럼장애 아동의 사회적 상호작용에 미치는 영향, 치료적 효과를 알아보고, 자료분석을 통해 얻은 정보를 동물매개중재에 관심을 가지고 있는 임상가와 작업치료사에게 기초 자료로 제공하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 전자 데이터베이스인 RISS, Google Scholar, Korea Scholar를 사용하여 2007년 부터 2020년까지의 논문을 검색하였다. 주요 검색어는 ( 자폐스펙트럼장애 OR ASD OR Autism Spectrum Disorders ) AND ( 사회적 상호작용 OR 사회성 AND 동물매개중재 OR 반려견 OR Animal therapy OR Animal-assisted )를 사용하였다. 최종적으로 10편의 국내외 논문을 본 연구의 분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 선정된 논문은 저자/연도, 연구 목적, 대상자 N/ 나이, 기간/빈도, 중재 프로그램, 프로그램 제공자, 측정도구, 결과 순으로 정리하였다. 결과 : 중재 도우미 동물은 반려견, 기니피그, 말 3종류로 나타났다. 제공자는 동물매개심리상담사 8명을 포함하여 총 27명이며 지역사회 환경을 기반으로 프로그램이 진행됐다. 사용된 도구로는 사회성숙도검사(SMS)가 가장 많았다. 동물매개중재의 치료적 효과는 사회적 기술 향상에 가장 효과적이었고 다음으로 부정적 사회행동의 감소로 나타났다. 결론 : 본 연구는 동물매개중재 프로그램에 대한 체계적 고찰을 통하여 관련 영역을 확대하는 기초 자료를 마련하고자 하였다. 이는 추후 작업치료사가 동물매개중재(AAI) 전문가로서의 역할을 정립할 수 있는 후속연구를 계획하는 기초 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다. Objective : The aim of this systematic review is to investigate the effects of animal assisted interventions on social interaction and therapeutic effects to ASD, and provide the information obtained through data analysis as basic data to occupational therapists. Methods : Previous studies were found from an electronic database; RISS, Google Scholar, Korea Scholar database published between 2007 to 2020. The key terms were ASD OR Autism Spectrum Disorders AND Social interaction AND AAI OR Dog OR Animal therapy OR Animal-assisted . A total of 10 articles were used in this analysis. Results : Types of intervention included dogs, guinea pigs and horses. The provider was a total of 27 people, including 8 AAI experts, and the program was based on the community environment. The Social Maturity Scale(SMS) was the most used measurement tool. As the result of the intervention social skills were improved and negative social behaviors were decreased. Conclusion : This study was to provide basic data for expanding related areas through a systematic review of animal assisted interventions. In the future, the roles of occupational therapists should be clarified of animal assisted intervention and various animal assisted interventions should be made.
