In this study, short carbon fiber (SCF)-reinforced epoxy composites were prepared through changing of the fiber content (0.1-0.7 wt%). An electrodeposition process was used to produce Cu-coated SCFs. To investigate the effect of Cu-coated SCFs on the composite mechanical and electrical properties, we prepared two kinds of reinforcements:SCFs treated by 400 oC (400 oC-treated SCFs) and Cu-coated SCFs (Cu-SCFs). Fracture characteristics of the composites revealed that the Cu coating and the epoxy matrix had a better interface, meaning that the tensile and bending strength results were better in epoxy/Cu-SCFs composites than those in epoxy/400 oC-treated SCFs composites. The 400 oC-treated SCFs decreased the electrical resistivity of the epoxy composites compared to the pure epoxy. However the epoxy/Cu-SCFs composites had lower electrical resistivity than epoxy/400 oC-treated SCFs with the same fiber content.
Using Semantic Knowledge in the Uyghur-Chinese Person Name Transliteration

In this paper, we propose a transliteration approach based on semantic information (i.e., language origin and gender) which are automatically learnt from the person name, aiming to transliterate the person name of Uyghur into Chinese. The proposed approach integrates semantic scores (i.e., performance on language origin and gender detection) with general transliteration model and generates the semantic knowledge-based model which can produce the best candidate transliteration results. In the experiment, we use the datasets which contain the person names of different language origins: Uyghur and Chinese. The results show that the proposed semantic transliteration model substantially outperforms the general transliteration model and greatly improves the mean reciprocal rank (MRR) performance on two datasets, as well as aids in developing more efficient transliteration for named entities.

The asparagus of Triarrhena lutarioriparia (TL)is a popular vegetable with abundant chemical compoundsin China. This study aims to optimize the ultrasound-assistedextraction (UAE) method for its content of totalflavonoid and antioxidant activities by response surfacemethodology (RSM). Box-Behnken design was adopted toevaluate the influences of ethanol concentration, extractiontime and solvent-to-sample ratio on the extraction yield oftotal flavonoid and the antioxidant activity. Considering themaximum content of extracted total flavonoids andantioxidant activity, the optimal extraction conditions wereacquired with 70% (v/v) ethanol by UAE for 60 min at asolvent-to-sample ratio of 40 mL/g. The proportion of theextraction of total flavonoid was 15.88 mg/g and antioxidantactivity reached 79.53%. The RSM would be recommendedas an appropriate model for simultaneousoptimization of the UAE conditions for the content of totalflavonoid and the antioxidant activity of asparagus of TL.
